Beware the siren call of the 180kW Applegreen chargers at Gretna. 79p/kW!

I wondered why I could never find their pricing on their website. Having a leisurely Tesla charge at 51p/kW instead.

There are constant queues, and the Ionity chargers are similar money. I'd rather have the option of paying 79p/kWh without queue vs queue for 51p/kWh.
If I only pop enough in to get my to Glasgow or Birmingham, that's my choice.

79p is the same as Insta and Osprey

This often happens to me at Gretna. Last time I was there there was a large, disorganised queue for the superchargers but three out of four 350kw Ionity chargers were available. I didn’t have to queue and I got a faster charge than the superchargers could offer.

If you’re doing a couple of Ionity charges a month it’s probably worth subscribing to Elli and their Drive Highway sub 31p @ Ionity
