Upper Door Panel protection

So I noticed that where I rest my left elbow when I drive has caused the sheen on the upper door panel to become tacky. I have tried cleaning it but that one spot on the door still remains. Other than a $500 upper door overlay which I am not crazy about how they look. Any ideas on how to cover/protect the driver upper door panel?

Mine is some squishy padded vinyl. Sweat wouldn't get into a chemical reaction with it. I'd venture that is your sunscreen lotion doing that.

You might have to live with it and save for a replacement panel

2022 no lotion at all. But it is exactly where I rest my elbow

Some people have more acidic sweat than others.

You may need to try various cleaner/vinyl treatments to find the right one for your skin chemistry.

Often for tacky spots, you want to try wiping in one direction repeatedly. Wiping back and forth often just make the tacky stuff stay where they are.
