Using Adaptive Cruise Control

I have a 2021 Model 3 and previously a 2018 Model 3. When using the adaptive cruise control I set the following distance at the lowest setting which is 3 on my car. I find that to be just too far back as cars are always cutting in front of me after passing on the right. My 2018 model seemed to be capable of following at a much closer distance. Is there anyway to reduce my current following distance as it is probably about 8-10 car lengths and for CA drivers that just doesn't cut it.

New vision only cars cannot yet set closer to 3 whereas older cars can use 1. Will be enhanced in a future update.
