I think it is because of a lot of cars still have the old software version.

I'd have thought that when you install a new version, the manual on your MyTesla page would change. But I guess not. Alternatively, they could have both during the transition.

I am using the port up front by 12V plug. I have FAT32 format and TeslaCam folder. I see USB pop up on the bottom status bar, but no camera icon. I am on v9 with APK2.5. What am I doing wrong?

I finally found the perfect USB key. It's tiny, and doesn't get knocked around. It comes FAT32 formatted. I just created the TeslaCam folder and it worked this time. Yay for me.

How can I still have two phone chargers set up (as I do now) and also a USB flash drive in use for a dashcam? Has anyone figured this out? If I use a USB splitter on one of the sockets and plug the phone charger and USB drive into it, will both work??

Should be ok. You can also use a 12V to USB.

Are you able to load music on the stick too?

I haven't tried the double partition yet....it's on my to-do list. Others have gotten it working. Since there are 2 USB slots + 12V slot, I have 3 USB sticks right now, 1 for my music, 1 for camera, and used a 12v to USB converter for a 3rd USB stick for spouse's music.
