Um...nobody actually wants to war with Canada because they don’t go out of their way to piss other countries off and choose instead to support peace efforts. But feel free to give an example of the last time Canada asked for US military to be stationed in Canada to protect Canada from an enemy army. Take your time.

There was that one time when Canada and the US warred against each other...

I will reply only once as we should be sticking to discussion of cars and TSLA. Knowledge in one area doesn't necessarily make one an expert in war & peace. I'm sure we are just bound to agree to disagree.

Pissing off other countries has nothing to do with maintaining military superiority. It doesn't matter what administration is in charge of the US. It doesn't matter if the US doesn't fire a shot at any country over the next 20 years. It doesn't matter that no one can shoot down an F-22 Raptor. You still build the F-22 Raptor's successor and the successor that comes after that.

Lack of usage, doesn't negate an overwhelming military serving as a deterrent.

Bottom line, Canada is a free rider of the US military machine.

Free-rider problem - Wikipedia

In a "fair" world, the US should have plundered Canada for its resources using the vast military it invested in.

Canada in theory has nothing to stop Russia from conquering it the way it conquered Crimea.

The US military machine wouldn't allow it, so instead we put up with abuse and smugness from "SOME" of northern neighbors that think they have it all "figured out".

If Canada doesn't want to invest in a military and pay their fair NATO share, we should make them absorb those who free-ride off of the US healthcare system.

FFS - the lack of basic economics / opportunity costs / free-riding kills me at TMC.

Canadian Politician Comes to U.S. for Heart Surgery

I rest my case.

Funny how Canada laughs at the US Military spending when Canada depends on the US to protect them with that very same military they laugh at.

On healthcare, I don't see any issue with someone choosing to go anywhere in the world for a particular medical specialist or procedure that they want but can't easily get, if they have the means. Just because the system doesn't provide instant on-demand care in any form someone wants doesn't detract at all from the concept of free universal healthcare. However you believe what you want - keep paying and keep watching the suffering of your fellow citizens/customers who can't.

On the military I don't know anyone who laughs at this. I do however think that the US has made themselves, Canada and rest of a western world a lot more unsafe through reckless invasions, the "war" on terror, "shock and awe" and the rest of the BS excuses for propping up the military machine and keeping the dollars flowing. Quite right that they also foot the bill for sorting out their mess that will have repercussions for all of us for centuries. Hilarious that Drump thinks now is the time to retreat from it all and say "nothing to do with me".

Back on topic, it is a bummer that the v9 features suck for Canada, but it might just save me having to find the dollars to convert that Autopilot free trial - I was on the brink when I saw this stuff!

Am I missing something ? Does V9 come with universal health care ? I read the whole last page of this discussion but couldn't find anything about v9

I get your point and I agree. It's a great example of why my Dad said he stopped logging in to the "Terrible Members Club" long ago. People get way off the topic, complain, make abusive remarks to others, and mainly just want to pretend they know more about the Tesla than anyone else. I might just follow his lead. Fortunately there are are great members with actual good information if you are willing to filter through the crap.

Agreed. Used to hang out here more but the Signal to Noise ratio is just too low when compared to alternate options.
