VIN 1227 Introduction

I am the purchaser of Tesla Roadster VIN 1227 from BAT last April, a Radiant Red 2011 2.5 Sport loaded with carbon fiber and with less than 9,000 miles.

I recently received a carbon fiber hard top from Erik / Eggplant Fab and had time to take some pictures, so I thought it was a good time to make an introduction and show some photos from the first 7 months of our ownership. The hardtop is well-crafted and a fantastic addition, particularly given the other carbon fiber details. A particularly trick feature is, with the glossy carbon fiber interior, you can see your reflection when you look up. Pictures with top on in the next post.

Anyway, hello, and I'd love to hear about any Roadster-related get togethers happening in Southern California and surrounding areas.

Welcome to TMC, and wow!! So excited to see it on 1227. Perfectly complements the exterior and interior carbon accents!

As far as events, we had an epic meetup in August 2022 at Unplugged Performance in Hawthorne. Over 25 cars showed up from CA, WA, and TX. Hopefully we can make it happen again next summer.

If the car has any original PPF on it, you will want to get it removed right away as it can stick to the paint overtime.

Thanks for the tip. No original PPF, but I had some installed. Hopefully modern films don't have that issue.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is they all have this issue if they are left on for 8+ years. I would double check with your installer.
