Water in boot!

Seem to remember this was common in the first wave of car purchases last year. Have had Tesla for 11 months and after today’s deluge of rain opened the boat after work to find it filled with water ! Was the general consensus/fix - seal not right ?

There are a number of different possible places water can leak from. Where was the water?

Same here. Got a mobile service on the 29 Oct to look into this. I will update after the visit.

you might want to take out the under boot storage and look in there. if you have water in the boot that may have filled up as well. You just need to pull off the plastic strip that covers the boot locking mechanism and then it just lifts out.

highly unlikely for a boot leak unless the rear shelf is wet. More likely to seals, boot lid mounting bolts, charge port or maybe a bad weld. All have been reported before.

They did that for mine 3 months ago when I had about 250ml in the boot after overnight rain. Not a drop since.

Same here. Got a mobile service on the 29 Oct to look into this. I will update after the visit.

So mobile came today and replaced the boot seal. The new seal stands a lot more proud of the bottom of the rear screen so water should (fingers crossed) not overwhelm the seal and let water in. We shall see.
