so on the “Tesla forum” there is a fun thread about what cars have you owned before the model 3. Seems like a good break from all the negativity and complaining.
Anyway here you go most of my cars and my wife’s and some thoughts and there is much overlap.
1977 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - wait it got 3-4 mpg?
1985 Subaru GL 4wd wagon
1988 Subaru Legacy wagon
1986 Toyota Land Cruiser J60
A bunch of Subarus... outbacks, Legacy, wrx, Sti, a really cool gutted caged 2 door Impreza 2.5 RS I ice raced
1997 SL 500
More Subarus
1999 Audi allroad
2000 BMW M3 - worst car I even owned electrical gremlins had to threaten lemon law at dealer 14 times in 10 months. Dealer gave me full paid price trade in on -> 2001 911 turbo
2001 MB SLK 230
Still have the LC J60
2002 911 GT3 - track car, wholy crap I could crash this thing and be SOL
2003 Hummer H2 - yes really, my wife missed the huvee when she transitioned off the ground. It wasn’t the same
2003 Honda S2000 - track car, gutted, cage, supercharged
1996 Ferrari Testarossa - yep really only for ~6 months. I got a deal couldn’t pass up.
-Wait, we’ve waisted how much money trading out new cars out????!!!!!!!! We need to buy what we want and keep if for at least 10 years.
2003 MB e320 4matic
2004 cayenne turbo
Sold the J60, regret that one
2003 MB g500
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee trailhawk - I got one of the first ones in 2012, my attempt to “buy American” - really the worst car we ever owned, air suspension faild: off road, in the cold, randomly. Center diff (viscous) overheats and fails on sand mode in the sand... lemon laws are not good in AK. Took the hit and got what I wanted anyway, another LC
-> 2013 Lexus LX 570
2014 Tesla model s base- but wait there is a better driving smaller version for way less $$$ with almost no disadvantages???that is AWD -> 2018 Tesla model 3 LR AWD
Also still have the 2003 MB e 4 matic (kids drive now) and have a 2010 Subaru Legacy we use as “the dog car”
Also had two 4wd converted ford “man vans” and a 1990 something F250 “plow truck”
