When to send down payment?

Hey guys I pick up my Tesla on Monday and I am wondering when I should make the down payment that the Tesla app is asking for. Should I send the money now or wait until after inspecting the exterior of the vehicle and then send it? If I send it literally at the moment of pick up will Tesla allow me to drive off with the car or does it take a few days to process?

Is there anything else that I should be aware of when picking up the car outside of that big checklist of what items to check for? Thank you everyone!

Don't believe so, they want plaid on the app to draft from your bank.

You can wait until delivery. I’ve done that with both of mine. It makes since to see the car and verify all is well before shelling out the cash.

Definitely wait until delivery. I paid my down payment 2 days before my original scheduled delivery date to avoid any potential issues with my bank… only to find out later that evening that my delivery appointment was cancelled due to logistical delays.
