The yoke response here was a little muted initially. Now TMC seem to be right behind it. The yoke does not look like a luxury steering wheel. Why - because it is using M3/MY design language. This was designed for the M3/MY and carried across to MS/MX. Identical steering wheel will probably also make it to M2, Roadster and CT.

Drivers:
1) Cost reduction critical to M3/MY - no stalks etc.
2) Better for robotaxi (MY/M3/M2) especially if it retracts - Robotaxi drives most of Tesla's moves

I would expect M3/MY refresh in ~2023 including the yoke.

Rear screen would make sense for robotaxi also.
