All Tesla's have a clear coat..so wouldn't that be "multicoat"?
Not necessarily.

Mutli-coat has multiple meanings. For example, Ford has a multi-coat known as ‘white-platinum-metallic’. It’s three different shade applications of paint, that gives it a glossy – glittery-pearlescent shine. I think it’s far more complicated than just assuming it multi-coat is akin just to a clear-coat, but you’d have to talk to a pain specialist. There’s a lot of chemistry talking place.

I asked about that when I was in a body shop Supply company....got some touch up paint..yes white. Repeating what they said to me..but?

I have a 2019 M3 black that I'm trading in for a MY silver on Tuesday. My black M3, after 4 years of outdoor, non-garaged, New England weather, and somewhat regularly washed at the local full-contact automatic car wash, still looks great to me. Some swirls? Yes. But still looks great. I hope the silver does as well. For a long while I regretted not buying a ceramic coating for the M3....until I forgot all about that and just enjoyed the car.

Wish we had that over here in the U.S :(
I know…I would have definitely bought the quicksilver if they offered it in the US. It looks super nice. I thought about the Midnight Gray Metallic, but they’re already everywhere and now they’re the default/free color so they’re only going to get more common.

I really like the way the Blue looks, it’s just a shame it seems like it was sprayed on by monkeys and clear coated by a toddler.

According to Tesla back before the Y became available when I first started seriously looking at a Tesla, the pearl white and the red were two coats and were the two most expensive upgrades, everything else was single coat (black was standard then). I read more recently that white and red are now triple coat, source didn’t say anything about the other colors and I don’t recall the source so I can’t verify it. I picked white when it was standard.

That Midnight Cherry they offer in Europe is awesome.
