Whining noise after rear drive unit change

Hi.

I have been having the whining noise since day 1 on my 2022 Model Y - finally convinced Tesla when the technician agreed it was an issue and they changed the rear drive unit last month.

However I still notice same whine exactly at 49-50 mile speeds.

Any suggestions ?

There are whining noises and whining noises. Hard to tell from description alone.

It might be the 'normal resistance' noise. Record it and post. Try to compare to another MY.

This. Although Tesla has their own standards I believe they use to determine if a motor gets replaced.

Does anyone have a pic of how to add sound deadening material to under the backseat and trunk space. Does it need to be glued or can we just get sound deadening foam / dynamat and cut and place it under the seat area.

I had same issue with my 2021 Model 3. Tesla technician initItaly could not identify it at first and reassured me that if it was a motor then it was fully covered as car was only year old at the time. I drove for another two weeks and noise was more dominant. Returned to Tesla to review and they told me there was a faulty or corroded earth strap connection. They replaced it and noise went away and never returned. My wife did say the car whined all the time but I blamed that on me
