White/White AWD Vin 145xx

I live in rural panhandle Florida and ordered a white/white/awd/induction/fsd October 2019. Added trailer hitch when available. I found VIN 14515 in my source code June 12. Later that day I got an email from an advisor in Las Vegas saying my car was finishing at the factory and would arrive in Jacksonville on June 23. From there, once I submitted my payment, home delivery would be arranged. They fedex'd me the paperwork which I completed and overnight-ed back to them. The paperwork appeared on my home page and it changed to "pay remaining balance". I got a call from Jacksonville to arrange everything on June 23, and told them once they had their local inspection done that I would pay my balance. Over the next couple of days, I made multiple calls back to Jacksonville as well as to my advisor in Las Vegas. All of them told me that the car carrier/trucking was delayed from Fremont and that the car was not yet in Jacksonville. Yesterday morning they told me the same thing. Yesterday afternoon, my online account changed from "pay remaining balance" back to "next steps, drafting contract" and all the new signed paperwork that had been scanned in (under the Lemon Law area) has disappeared. I no longer have a vin in the source code. I have left multiple messages with Jacksonville and Las Vegas but no one has returned my calls or emails. I am fearful that my car has been sold to someone closer to California to improve q2 numbers. Has anyone had a similar problem? Has anyone received my car?

I'm positive this is what happened to me. I'm also positive they gave it to someone on the west coast for Q2 numbers. Had VIN, MVPA for several days then gone. Sorry...I know how much it sucks.

Ordered my white/white/long range AWD/20" induction wheels in March, car was delivered last Friday in Las Vegas. My original date estimate at time of order was for delivery in mid May. I'm glad I waited and didn't get too discouraged, but the car is fantastic and I have owned two Model S, P85 purchased in 2012, and P100D purchased in 2017. This is a very different driving experience than those cars and feels like driving a futuristic car with the interior minimalism. Sad that others are having delivery issues as well, but Tesla does play games with delivery timing to suit their quarterly numbers, even the sales people at Tesla admit that. Good luck and hope everyone gets their car soon and it is in good condition, I had only minor panel gap issue with frunk.

I’m in a similar situation to yours. Florida panhandle, vin 14xxx, and received it and an email around the same time. I still have my VIN in my account, but it’s been quiet on Tesla’s end.

I expect you'll be the first in the panhandle!

Similar thing happened to me but I had already paid for the car (the VIN has a lien on it) and it was Tesla's fault that it is still in SF (built 06/19) and I hadn't received the car before the end of the quarter. Delivery specialist was not happy because they shouldn't have pulled my VIN. It was reassigned shortly after I let him know what happened. They can't sell something that doesn't belong to them.

@bethterry, I know VINs aren't always sequential, but I know a lot of us had 145xx VINs that were white/white LR AWD with 20s. Mine was VERY close to yours and I received it a week and a half ago in Florida. There are a ton of reasons why you didn't get your car, but it seems strange that we received ours that were built around the same time and you didn't. Maybe there was an issue with that particular car that they're still working on?

How do you figure that this specific VIN has a lien on it?

Because the bank issued a payment to Tesla for that car. That VIN is the collateral for the loan. If Tesla hasn't cashed the check then it wouldn't be an issue. Would just be a pain for me to redo all the loan paperwork and change the insurance.

Tesla created this problem themselves. They requested immediate payment (which was done) and proof of insurance. If they wanted the flexibility to sell the car to someone else they shouldn't have done that.
