Why wasn't Tesla part of the 100 Tech Companies Signing against the Travel Ban?

No, you are simply wrong. The opinion of the majority of the world is that trying something positive and different is worth trying.

Just ask the Swedes, and we all know the terrible terrorist problem they have ;)

Good intentions usually come up short when dealing with rogue nations. The majority of the world allowed WWII to start. League of Nothing (err Nations) was quoted at the time: "Sometimes, we just want to watch the world burn."

But if you honestly believe Sweden is not having a refugee problem, look again.

It's not over til it's over!

Government wants appeal of travel ban put on hold

On Friday, 2/24/2017, Trump's Department Of Justice filed the brief to ask to delay the case in court even when it quoted what it said before:

“the United States does not seek en banc review of the merits of the panel’s ruling. Rather than continuing this litigation, the President intends in the near future to rescind the Order and replace it with a new, substantially revised Executive Order..."

The Friday's move is now finally in sync with Trump's fine-tuned machine as the DOJ does not want to give up the case, it just wants to delay it for a "dual-track" strategy:

Spicer
: "So with respect to the executive order, there are several courts that this is being fought in—10 or so—and we continue to deal with that in all of those venues. And then again, I guess, the only way to say this is, then obviously on the dual-track side we have the additional executive order that we’ve talked about earlier that will come out and further address the problems. We continue to believe that the issues that we face specifically in the 9th district—9th Circuit, rather, that we will prevail on, on the merits of that. But on the other challenges that have come and the other venues and the others—that we feel equally confident, as we did in Massachusetts and other venues. So it’s not a single-track system."

My guess for the strategy of delay is: Trump might get his nominee to be confirmed among 9 Supreme Court judges instead of the current 8 if you can wait long enough.

You can now forget about those above dates:

“The Trump Administration’s decision to withdraw their appeal — and pay our costs — confirms what I said yesterday: The President’s original travel ban was unconstitutional," Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson said in a statement. “Contrary to President Trump’s indefensible criticisms of the judiciary, his concession today admits that Judge Robart got it right when he enjoined the original Executive Order."

Just a reminder, this is only about Trump's appeal against the TRO Temporary Restraint Order, not about the merits of the lawsuit for the first travel ban Executive Order itself.

That means the TRO is not canceled and is still in effect while the lawsuit against the first Executive Order is still waiting at Judge Robart's court.

A decision to not fight a court ruling is of course admission of nothing, though. People move on to other solutions all the time... to move on.

It doesn't help that the legalities of this story are currently clouded in so much partisan fog and biased medias across the spectrum (left and right included).

Perhaps only historical analysis will eventually shed light on this as we become far enough removed from all that. Interesting to see how it plays out.

Just hours before the new Executive Order on travel ban takes effect, another TRO (Temporary Restraint Order) is issued against it. This time, it's from Hawaii court.

The Latest: Judge in Hawaii puts Trump's travel ban on hold

This happened even when Trump administration has complied to the wish of Robart's & 9th Circuit courts and discarded technical words (no more religious preference...) that were objected.
