Failed progress aside, that I-10 route is the only way to transit the continent without having to have chains at some point throughout the year. They built I-10 for a reason (see I-40 and I-70 by comparison - especially if you like black ice in November or snow and freezing rain in May).
Yes, but you also need floaties to use I-10 now. It's closed between Texas and Louisiana potentially though May 25th, so it's also not an infallible route.
I get the significance of I-10, but the missing segment between El Paso & San Antonio gets fewer than 5000 vehicles a day. There are several Interstates that have much more traffic that aren't even on the Supercharger map (like I-20 between Dallas & Atlanta).
