Xfinity xb8 and Tesla Wall Connector

Does anyone have an Xfinity XB8 gateway and have success connecting it to the Tesla wall connector? Had the XB6 previously which connected just fine. Followed the same procedure without any luck using the XB8 with all three channels merged. Made the wall connector Wi-Fi available, connected that network to my iPhone, then went to the Tesla wall connector IP number while connected to the wall connector network. That part worked and the connector shows up on the Tesla IP side, but when I hit the edit button, it will not recognize the XB8. I spent an hour on the phone with Tesla support today with no resolution. Their suggestion was to split the gateway into the three bands, with unique names and passwords, then use the 2.4 GHz band to connect. Did that and the XB8 would still not connect to the 2.4 GHz network. Any suggestions?

Make sure your wifi network isn't using WPA3 or WPA2/WPA3 security, even though the wall connector says it's compatible reports from other users say it's not.
