Payment not complete!?

I just picked up my new MYLR Saturday. I wanted to pay in full at pickup. I did not have enough money in one account to do so and wanted to pay from two bank accounts. By the time I was picking up my car there was not enough time to transfer the funds and have them available. An associate at Tesla instructed me through the process of wiring from two accounts… this did not work and they ended up charging the full amount to one account which I knew did not have enough for the full transaction, essentially overdrafting my account by almost $10,000. I then immediately transferred the rest of the money into that account and prayed, knowing the funds wouldn’t be available before Tesla tried to pull it but, again, praying anyway.

Today I received this email from my bank (Sofi):

“TESLA MOTORS TESLA MOTO attempted to charge $10,000 to your SoFi checking account. We are unable to process this transaction and it has been returned due to R09 - Uncollected Funds.”

My understanding now is that I have a balance of $10k left on the car through Tesla. How can I pay this?? I have searched the app and customer service high and low. Im not seeing a balance anywhere. Thanks again!! Been on hold with costumer service phone line trying to talk to somebody for 45 min now….

Powerwall 3 Partial Backup Metering

We recently had a solar system installed that includes 2x Powerwall 3s and Telsa Backup Gateway 2. We're configured for partial backup with the A/C, Pool Pump, and Furnace remaining on the main panel. All other loads are on the backup panel. Our system is working flawlessly for all the backup loads, and we can monitor the coming and going of power through the system. However, the non-backup loads on the main panel continue to draw power from the grid and are not taking advantage of the self-generated power. I understand that this is because the Powerwall 3 does not support third party monitors, like Neurio that can help solar side determine where power flows from battery to grid. Anyone else experiencing this very frustrating and significant gap in the Powerwall 3 capability? We are continuing to draw ~15kwH per day to support our pool pump and that will double once temperatures start rising and we need our A/C. Is the short-term solution to move all loads to the backup side or wait for Tesla to offer a solution? Interested in your thoughts.

Camera Vieu after incident

I had a road rage incident Saturday 4/27/24 at 7;45 am. and the police wants to identify the person, so I was trying to get the images from my car I try my mobile apps I and I could fine how to access the images. Eventually I want to Tesla, and I ask for some help. I was told that is USB Flah drive in my glove compartment. so, I want home to remove the flash drive and I attached to my desk top computer, and I was trying to fine the time image of the incident but was overridden by then due the small capacity of the flesh drive.
The question is can I still get the images of the incident from Tesla?

Towing a boat, launched and water too high

I towed my boat to the lake with X, like I have done many times. When launching I got in a little too far into the water and my X shut down. The bumper was maybe 1inch into the water. I'm thinking maybe the trailer electrical connection got wet and shorted. I'm nit sure. But the car won't start, says it needs service. Any ideas on how I could handle without Towing and waiting a week+ for service?

Premium Connectivity Trial 2024 - not seeing 1 yr credit

My apologies if this is the wrong place to post, but I leased my MYLR 2024 in March 2024 through a referral. The person referring me got the 10,000 credits, but I did not/am not seeing my 1yr premium connectivity (only showed the standard 1mo in the app) nor the 3mo full self driving.

Do leased vehicles get the buyer credit? It seems they should if my referrer received their credits. Thanks!

Towing vehicle flashing up on rear sensor....

Hi there, can anyone tell me if Tesla are looking at turning off the rear sensor when towing? For as soon as i hitch anything up to my MYP the sreen flickers showing another vehicle close up behind me which is obviously the item im towing!!

It would not be too bad if it were constantly showing on the screen but its not and flickers sometimes randomly which can be very off putting when driving as i can see it out of the corner of my eye!!

Lets hope its a simple software fix on a future update or does anyone have a workaround till that happens?

  • Question
help, older breaker box can't accommodate another 240-volt breaker,

Help needed: I'm trying to install a home Level 2 charger, and am having one of those worst-case scenarios where an older breaker box can't accommodate another 240-volt breaker, and the electrician is providing a quote that includes an auxiliary panel which will take the total installation past $7,000. The house has sufficient service, only the panel is the problem. I feel like there must be some load management solution. Thoughts ?

  • Question
Charging Station?

Hi everyone. I’m in the US and just purchased a ‘23 Model S, and want to install a charger in my home. I am retired so just need the car for local and mid distant trips, but the closest Supercharger is 30 miles from my house. I was thinking of installing a Level 2 Tesla Charger, 50 amp (we have a brand new home which will give me 44 miles/hour of a charge, BUT maybe I don’t need that much? Maybe a lower amp charger
Would be enough? I’d appreciate any and all thoughts! Thank you. Ron C.

What is the oldest M3P that comes with AMD, heatpump, Boombox?

Hi All

I've owned a white Model 3 Performance since 2019 and covered 50,000 miles. Had a few issues over that time but nothing major and all sorted under warranty. Still love the 3p and can’t see what other manufacturer gives the same performance for the price.

It's now well out of its factory warranty, though I have added an extended warranty via Tesla with 18mths to run.

I was holding on for the new Highland Performance, but I am now unsure due to its cost/interest rates, and uncertainties regarding horsepower and battery specs for the UK.

Instead, I might sell my current 3p and purchase a newer 3p in a different color, with Full Self-Driving (coming soon to the UK? 😉 ), boombox, the newer cpu to take the new UI on the latest update, and a heat pump.

I need to know the oldest model year that includes all of the above updates without compromising on some of the downsides (battery? parking sensors?)

Can anyone advise which model year would meet these requirements?

All I’m asking for is the moon on a stick 😂

Appreciate any advice/guidance.

Regular maintenance

First of all, apologies as I’m sure this must have been discussed in the UK forum but I couldn’t find anything.

I’m shortly going to take delivery of a Model 3 and have been perusing the manual.

It’s suggested in the manual that the brake callipers need to be lubricated every year when road salt is used (like in the UK) and the tires need to be rotated every 6250 miles.

In my 22 years of driving I’ve never rotated tires, I just change them as a pair when either the front or back gets low on tread. Am I alone here? Should I have been rotating all along? Or is this a Tesla specific problem? Reading online this seems to be common practice in the States.

I’ve also never gone out of my way to have the brake callipers lubricated and I’ve never seen it itemised on a ICE service, outside of having brakes replaced when worn.

What is the general consensus amongst UK Tesla drivers?

  • Question
What is this and how can I get it off?

I noticed this "ML" on my car above the driver door after going through the laser wash (while trying to remove all those drip marks that the rain-x protect whatever residue left). I tried to wipe at it with a microfiber cloth to no avail. I hand washed my car again after and still can't get it off.

Now I'm curious what this is for. Anyone works/worked for Tesla and knows if this is written in the factory? (I have a MYLR if it matters).
Also, what is it written with so I can figure out how to remove this stubborn thing.

Navigation on the iPhone app

Since Tesla partnered with Apple Maps, it is apparently no longer possible to plot out a trip which includes charging stations unless you’re sitting in the car. When you click on navigation within the iPhone Tesla app, it takes you out of the Tesla app and into Apple Maps. Here you can plan a route like you would in any other car but you can’t see when or where you will need to charge. This is a serious inconvenience when planning, for example, a long summer road trip. Is this an unintended (or intended?) consequence of the partnership with Apple Maps, or am I missing something?
