    Single motor?

Historically for Teslas, RWD is 5 - 10% more efficient (in terms of range) than AWD for equivalent battery pack sizes. I'm not exactly sure why, maybe it's the weight penalty of AWD models having motors on both axles. When "Long Range RWD" was still being offered as a Model Y configuration, it...

    Single motor?

They just got rid of the single motor (RWD) Model Y as a configuration. I'm a little concerned they could decide to not make the RWD Cybertruck as well. In fact, it would make more sense to get eliminate the RWD Cybertruck than to eliminate the RWD Model Y.

$7000 US Fed Tax Credit for Cybertruck!

EV tax credits won't be extended under federal spending deal

$7000 US Fed Tax Credit for Cybertruck!

My reading comprehension isn't what it once was, but AFTER the legislation is signed into law, Tesla would have 400,000 vehicles to sell in the U.S. that would qualify for a $7,000 federal tax credit. After reaching 400,000, there is another phase out. The problem is that the legislation...

    POLL: Will you buy?

I'm generally a Tesla skeptic, but I think the truck is brilliant. I placed my reservation this morning, and I regret not doing it last night. Reminds me a little of my favorite Toyota concept EV, the Fun Vii

How likely is an upcoming price change?

Doesn't history tell us that Tesla usually lowers prices after a reduction in the tax credit?

How likely is an upcoming price change?

Demand will probably go down in the near term because of the drop in the tax credit.

    VW ID.3

Maybe I'm missing something, but a 58 kWh ID.3 would have an EPA range of roughly 231 miles, which is less than both the Chevy Bolt and the Hyundai Kona EV. And VW is selling the first 30,000 units for 40,000 euros each, which is $45,000. I'm feeling less optimistic about the ID Crozz.

    SR Not Plus Waiting Room

It's in another thread, but it seems (based on consensus) that the base price of the LR RWD went up from $44,500 to $45,500 when it was taken off the menu. With Autopilot added, I was told that the LR RWD still starts at $47,500, the same price as before the Thursday announcement.

    LR RWD Waiting Room

This is the newsworthy reply that I just got back from my sales rep [emphasis added]: I just confirmed that the price for a base Long Range RWD will be $47,500. Only the current offerings such as the Standard Range Plus, All Wheel Drive, and Performance Model have pricing updated. So it seems...

    LR RWD Waiting Room

So based on what I was quoted, and based on the reduced color prices, that configuration (if ordered this morning) would be: Base $45,500 Autopilot Included Red $2,000 19" Sport Wheels $1,500 Total...

    LR RWD Waiting Room

The rep I spoke to said the computer was showing a car in inventory priced at $44,500, but then he noticed that it didn't have Autopilot. He said, "That one will probably be re-priced at $45,500 because Autopilot is now being made standard."

    LR RWD Waiting Room

Because RWD LR is now off the online menu, I called my local Tesla store (Mission Viejo) and asked for the new price of the "base" Black RWD LR with the default premium black interior, and now with Autopilot standard, and I was quoted a price of $45,500. So, as far as I can tell, these are the...

Model 3 with damaged hood before pick up

Given the horror stories we've heard regarding the damage these things suffer in transport, should those of us in California think about requesting pick up from Fremont?
