    Front Vibration

I just changed the two front tires yesterday and today while driving on the highway the car vibrates. Feels like the tires need to be balanced or like the lug nuts are loose. I will take it back to the service center to check it. I am hoping is just a bad balance job and something else did...

How do you hang up the phone

The phone card is there for most calls, however for some it is not there. Actually there is no card on the lower left part of the screen. I will just have to remember to swipe the screen. It only happens when my wife calls and that's the call I want to hang up on- ha, ha.

How do you hang up the phone from an incoming call. On the Model X you can hit the right scroll button to hang up. Cannot find anywhere easy or intuitive the Y to hang up.

    PPF question

You can order the material online and do it yourself for a couple hundred bucks. There was a post a few months ago where one of the forum members PPF'd the front.

Blind spot, close calls - do I need camera adjusted?

Agree with the above. Was very frustrated with near misses using the rear and side mirrors (no turning of head). Switching out the side mirrors made a huge difference, no issue with blind spots while changing lanes.

Very happy with my Mountain Pass Comfort Coilovers

How much did they charge. I got a quote for $900

How many have wasted money on paint correction before PPF install?

My two bits worth after going thru all of these scenarios on high end cars: -Paint correction: depends on the condition of the paint. Most colors you probably do not need it. Black is one that you may need. I had a brand new black Mercedes that no matter what polish I put on myself, I could...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

After reading the above pioneers feedback, I just ordered the coilovers and rear camber arms. This along with the upcoming (wishing) Track Mode i'll be ready for track and aggressive canyon driving.

    Cadillac SuperCruise better than Tesla?

All these manufacturer's autonomous driving is fantastic on paper or in controlled situations. In terms of GM I believe you can mostly use this on highways, so it has limited use. Tesla's system has been in practical use over the past few years and is constantly evolving. Will Cadillac's...

    Chickening out ...

It all depends on your timing. If you are in a hurry take the Prius. If you have time and not in a rush take the Y. I have taken a few 500mile trips and it added about an hour to the trip.

That was funny. Made me late for work.

    Stealth PPF vs Satin Wrap

Get the stealth PPF. It will give the matte finish you are looking for with the added paint protection. A wrap will give you no protection at all. The advantage of a wrap is that you have so many color options to pick from.

I see so many model Y owners having issues. Would you buy again?

There will always be complainers. I'm sure if you go to a Bugatti forum, you will find complaints. Overall I am very happy with my Y.

    What radar/lidar detectors/jammer?

I think laser jammers are generally legal in most states except for Virginia. Radar jammers definitely illegal. I have laser jammers in all of my cars (cops here mostly use lasers). Install was one of easiest of all the cars I have owned- no engine. Below is a quote I pulled from a...

Where is the love for the MYP?!

Model Y Performance is definitely not the value proposition. However for some people like myself the difference in cost is not significant for the small gain in performance. I do agree for the cost differential there should be a significant boost in performance or aesthetic changes to make us...

    Really nice interview with Elon

Really enjoyed this interview. Love Elon- very genuine, honest, and extremely smart. "When to buy a Tesla- either in the beginning or when production is ramped up" - I doubt any other CEO will say this about their cars. Admitted issues with the paint and gaps. Love his take on MBAs in the end.

    Who uses automatic car washes?

As a side note, I always follow up with a quik detailer spray wipe down after the wash at home. You'd be surprised how much residue and soap is left over from the wash. Don't fall for the PPF self healing crap. They show demo videos with someone scratching the heck out of the ppf and simply...

    Who uses automatic car washes?

Car wash every week (unlimited plan). Driver front wheel constantly gets scraped (have the 21" Ubers). Used to get mad about this, now learned to live with it. Have PPF on the entire front. Minor swirls in both the PPF and paint- not that of a big deal for me. Otherwise no issues.

Cruise control / Auto Pilot is Garbage

Also, remember Elon is like Donald Trump- sometimes he doesn't really mean what he says. Level 5 is right around the corner- real meaning is that we are moving forward to that goal some day.

Cruise control / Auto Pilot is Garbage

Yes it is not perfect. It is still waaaaay better than anything else out there. I applaud Tesla of pushing the needle on their self driving platform. It is still not perfect but at least they are moving forward. I saw this video about 3 years ago about Mercedes's fantastic self driving and...

Dear Elon: just remove navigation from your cars

Actually Tesla should keep it out and charge you if you really want it. I think HomeLink is a must have feature than their current navigation system.

Dear Elon: just remove navigation from your cars

The map has a mind on its own- it zooms in and out, can't save settings such as map stays on a "north" direction vs direction of travel. Yes all other manufactures navigation system are crap also. I am basing it on Google Maps (think this is the best system) and Waze. I guess it is like using...

Scared to go to the carwash

I go through a automatic wash 2-3x/week ($20/month unlimited). The main issue I have is scraping the wheels, I have the performance wheels. I drive the car thru the wash myself. Even with the idiots guiding you I have scraped my wheels 3 times so far, all on the front drivers side wheel...

Bought this on Amazon. Small cup with cover. Put it in the drivers side door panel.

    Regenerative Braking after 40.8 update

I'm glad I came across this post since I too was befundled about the lack of regen braking as in the past. I see no logic behind it for Tesla to decrease it for everyone. If you don't like it, you do have the option not to use it. Maybe Tesla did not want its owners to have the reputation as...

PPF & Ceramic Combo Vs Vinyl

PPF with paint correction will be amazing. Remember you will still see unsightly rock chips just as you would with no PPF. Also I would skip the ceramic coating crap. Just apply a spray on silicone/ceramic coating after each wash- takes about 5 minutes and will save you hundreds of dollars...

    Aftermarket subwoofer - Model Y

I would be interested to see where you draw power. I had to tap the 12v cigarette lighter in the back trunk area for my radar/laser shifter. I originally tapped directly into the 12v battery in the frunk, that didn't last long since after 2-3 weeks the battery died out.

    Spoiler advice

Kudos to Tesla service. Made appt via the app, they had an opening within one hour, drove down, took them about 20 minutes, took a power nap, and was on my way. No traditional dealership would ever do this.

How much money you have spent on your Tesla after took it home

Maybe around $6000. Major purchases: Front PPF/ window tint $2k, Laser shifter/radar detector $2K, Roof rack $500, Tesla charger $500, Wheel spacers $300, Interior mods: dash and center console items, footwell lights, etc

    My Lil Red Y

This stuff is not that hard to do. I was soo bored during this pandemic, I ended tinkering alot in the garage. The rear bumper is covered with vinyl wraps- some kind of wallpaper pattern upper part (not to happy with this) and carbon fiber vinyl on the lower half of the bumper.
