Steering Wheel Bubbling From Heat - Warranty?

I've just been quoted AU$1812.68 via service request on the app. 😢

Steering Wheel Bubbling From Heat - Warranty?

You could well have a point there. My car is usually kept under shade when parked or I use a windscreen shade. I clean M3 steering wheel every week sometimes twice. It was only after picking up my car from the panel beaters that I noticed the bubble closest to the left thumb scroll. They could...

How does the app know I've painted my stock 19" wheels black?

haha... I think it's just a case of the iOS & Android app team haven't been working to the same testing protocols. But saying that the weird thing is that the wheels were the stock 19" which Tesla don't make/sell in Black so why would they have a colour profile built into the app for this??

How does the app know I've painted my stock 19" wheels black?

No you can't change the wheel colours unless you specify in the Tesla settings what size wheels you have. In car my wheels show up as the old style 19" wheels but in the app they are the new style. Sorry that screen shot was a bit misleading. I took it when I first realised they had changed but...

How does the app know I've painted my stock 19" wheels black?

Turns out the headlights have been getting darker on the Android app. iOS still shows a clear headlight.

How does the app know I've painted my stock 19" wheels black?

No. But others have said they have had black wheels in the app when they have the original alloy. They seem to think it's random. 🤷‍♂️ Sadly the app has now gone back to silver 🙁 but I've only just now noticed it's now showing my smoked headlights which I did two weeks ago. Huh!?!

Tesla model 3 rear vs front doors

With the back doors its a case of press and hold the button and then push the door. Apparently a safety thing. Rear door opening

Vendor S3XY Buttons - Regenerative braking

Thanks for the replies. You don't have to press the brake pedal to toggle between Neutral and Drive. You will want to put your foot on the accelerator a little otherwise you will get the full force of the regen when going from Neutral to Drive.

Vendor S3XY Buttons - Regenerative braking

I've just tried the button for the main reason I got it and that is to toggle Regen on/off. So I set a button to set regen to 0% and a double click to 100%. This technically works but is so slow and seems like it is cycling through the 4 regen options (0-100%) as it can take >8 seconds to fully...

Tesla Wall Connector Charging Non-Tesla Vehicles? (Australia)

Yes they "should" be able to, there is an option on the wall charger settings to enable charging of non-Tesla cars. This seems to depend on the car, some have reported that the MG evs dont seem to work. If you have a US wall charger then you will need the adapter.

    Acceleration Boost while driving?

Yeah I hear it's worth it. I'm just curious to see the difference in track times, so will probably do another track day and get it before. So long as I don't write off the car tomorrow!

    Acceleration Boost while driving?

Anyone know if the boost can be applied while driving? I have a track day tomorrow and was wanting to do two laps without and two laps with the boost to really feel/see the different I wont be able to stop so my partner will be on the sidelines ready to press the buy boost from her phone. I...

How does the app know I've painted my stock 19" wheels black?

haha... Sentry mode was off. I would be a bit disappointed if Tesla wasted AI coding on that sort of thing when FSD isn't fully done yet.

How does the app know I've painted my stock 19" wheels black?

Ok this has me scratching my head a bit. How does the app know I have painted my stock 19" (2021) black? There's no setting in the car for this and has only appeared after installing version 4.5.0-858 of the Android app. The only thing I can think of is that the guy at the service center updated...

Rear passenger inner door frame scratches.

Thanks for checking Tim. The issue is actually dirt on the rubber seal on the door rather than the door jambs.

Rear passenger inner door frame scratches.

The guy at the service centre said it was from the door closing with dirt/grit on the rubber seal. Every time I wash my car I make sure this is clean. If I had white paint it probably wouldn't bother me but I have a blue one and its showing the white undercoat now. 😞

Rear passenger inner door frame scratches.

Does anyone happen to have these scratches on the inside of the rear door frames about 20cm above the latch? I've took it in to the service center twice to have it fixed but all they've done is just touch it up. Now I'm told it's not a warranty item because the demo cars have the same scratches...

Tesla Wall Connector Charging Non-Tesla Vehicles? (Australia)

Yes Gen 3 does. When connected to your home wifi you can use the WebApp to check for updates also.

Tesla Wall Connector Charging Non-Tesla Vehicles? (Australia)

FYI: I just charged a Kona using my new Gen 3 Wall Charger on a single phase connection. I believe we have the same chargers as Europe.

Rear door opening - Press+hold button and push door or Press once and push door.

A design problem indeed. They'll need to sort this out if the RoboTaxi service comes around, either that or they are expecting this to become a industry standard so in time everyone will eventually know how to open the back doors anyway. 😶 It'll be interesting to see how the new BMW EV (can't...

Rear door opening - Press+hold button and push door or Press once and push door.

Do your rear doors require you to keep hold of the door open button until you have pushed the door or does it fully unlatch the door on a single press like the front doors. For one of my rear doors (M3 21) it does the latter but the other it stays semi-latched and you have to hold the button...

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Isn't it a bit odd that we haven't even seen any photo/videos of a RHD M3 so far? Surely there must be a some created already, even if just used for crash tests.

What Model 3 configuration will you choose?

SR+, Black, Black, Areo, FSD. Money saved on paint shall go towards a nice wrap.

    Tesla Model 3 in Australia

Sorry for making the post look dodgy :) I was surprised to see it show one day then gone the next then it came back a week later. Initially I thought it was a bug or something. Odd that reservation holders have a referral option. Wouldn't this technically mean you could get a Tesla for free (if...

M3 Reservation holder Refferal activated briefly!?

Did anyone else see the referral screen show up when logging in to Tesla.com in the last couple of weeks? I think it was 26th of March I logged in to see the Tesla Referral Program box show up under my reservation. Now however it's disappeared. Just wondering if anyone else managed to get...
