M3 LR Getting Out Of Lease Options

Hi everyone. I have a general question about exiting a 3-year M3 LR lease early. Two months ago we bought an MY LR. We love both cars but my wife points out that by downsizing to just the Y. We're retired so that will work for us and it would be nice to save the lease payment + 2nd car...

What is the best way to address this slow tire leak on my Model 3

I have a leased Model 3 AWD that over the last few weeks has developed a slow leak (2-3 psi a day) in the passenger side rear tire. All the tires have 31,000 miles left so I will be looking at new tires in the not too distant future. I've scheduled service but it's over 2 weeks out and the leak...

Trunk shuts but does not latch on my 2021 M3

Yesterday morning I did an OTA update and was loading the trunk after which it stopped latching when shut by either the exterior button or app. (I don't thing the OTA had anything to do with it but I mention it as the problem appeared to start right afterward.) When shut but not latched there is...

Squeaky Scratchy Sound When Turning Steering Wheel

I ended up taking my M3 to the local service center where they fixed the problem.I don't know the cost as it was under warranty. My understanding is that it was safe to drive with the scratchy sound but very annoying.

Creaking noise from suspension - resolved!

I have the same problem - creaking noise when turning wheel or bumpy road. Service Center ordered me a FR UPR CTRL ARM ASSY, LH but since appt is over a month away I'm wondering if driving with the creak is in anyway detrimental??

Squeaky Scratchy Sound When Turning Steering Wheel

Update 10//17/2020 Based just on my noise complaint I see the Service Center has ordered a FR UPR CTRL ARM ASSY, LH. So I guess they figure that is the problem. I kinda need the car so will search on this part in this forum to see if driving with the squeak is a problem.

Squeaky Scratchy Sound When Turning Steering Wheel

Okay, I've done that - for the steering wheel noise and also a needed tire rotation. But the earliest service date I could get is November 20 - over a month away. My next question is driving the car with this steering wheel noise until then damaging to the car or perhaps even dangerous?

Squeaky Scratchy Sound When Turning Steering Wheel

Two days ago I noticed a squeaky scratchy (for lack of better terminology) noise which appears to come from the steering column of my 2018 mid-range Model 3 with 32,000 miles on it. This happens every time I turn I turn the steering wheel right or left, even a small amount. This happens whether...

    Driving on Sunshine

I would like to get some commentary on the accuracy etc of the attached image I created to convince my ICE relatives that you can indeed run EVs on sunshine. I read somewhere that that the M3 can travel 4.1 EPA rated miles on 1 kWh so 15,000 miles over a year will use 15,000/4.1 or 3,658 kWh...

    A Tesla Mid-range Model 3 In Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Matsayz We spent over 2 months about 30 miles south of Ludington this summer. I was at the Ludington Superchargers 6-7 times. Never did see another Tesla there.

    A Tesla Mid-range Model 3 In Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Okay, I did this as kind of a challenge to myself. I decided to see if we could make it to Tahquanamen Falls State Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and back after leaving from the Muskegon area. Going north the last SC was in Gaylord - 138 miles from our destination. We would need to charge...

Bike rack that fits a Model 3?

I just took the Allen Deluxe trunk rack with 2 bikes on my Model 3 to a bike trail 80 miles away. No problem going over but somehow, on the way back the upper rollers dropped below the lip of the trunk and everything sagged a little - no damage. I had to remove bikes and put upper rollers 3...

Electric "Tingle" on Silver Exterior Trim While Level 1 Charging

Thanks to everyone. Yes, the exterior Level 1 outlet is not dedicated to the circuit and I'm not sure how (or if) the grounding is there and correct. The cottage was built in the late 60s and by it Do It Yourselfer so who knows. I'm supposed to have an electrician come out and set up a...

Electric "Tingle" on Silver Exterior Trim While Level 1 Charging

I charged my Model 3 overnight on an exterior Level 1 outlet. When I went to the car in the morning the silver trim at the base of the side windows had a "tingle" (not sure how best to describe it). When I unplugged it went away. I tried replugging and the green Tesla indicator was green at...

Bike rack that fits a Model 3?

I purchased a 2 bike Allen Deluxe Trunk Carrier a few weeks ago and so far it has worked well on the three short (<20 miles) trips we've used it. It does screw up the M3 sensors though. If I back up with the rack and bikes on I get all kinds of warnings to STOP. Apparently, the M3 cannot tell...

Model 3 Mid Range on 1,300 Mile Trip - Some Questions

Hi All I've had my Model 3 Mid Range for a little over a month now and love it. Charge at home with Level II at 16 amps. My wife and I are planning on making a trip from Tampa Florida area to the Muskegon Michigan area in about 3 weeks - about 1,300 miles over 3 days. Supposedly the car will...
