Tesla Semi 11/10 - return from Crash testing

I wasn't offended, and I don't know how you got to thinking I was. I didn't know that it had a second meaning and I did think that there was crash testing involved so naturally the passenger airbags would have fired off. Go easy on me, OK? I don't follow the Tesla Semi very much and it's not...

Tesla Semi 11/10 - return from Crash testing

/ At a minimum, I noted a lack of an exhaust system, fuel tank "saddlebags", and it was missing the usual accoutrement such as cabling for trailer lights, chain for securing load, and so on. I don't follow on the airbags, I see the silver as more of a tarp caught in the wind. Thanks @Olle...

Tesla Semi 11/10 - return from Crash testing

Hey everyone! I believe I took photos of a covered Tesla Semi Eastbound on Nov 10 on Interstate 80 in Citrus Heights by the truck weigh station at around 3pm. If you look, you can see a very clean back wall to the semi, the silhouette looks about right, there's no exhaust pipes or other burny...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Thanks for reporting, and my sincerest condolences. As a 2013 S60 owner and 2012 S85 Signature owner, I had long since assumed Tesla was ignoring my cars, save for some poorly-tested video games that don't run well on the older hardware (despite emulating a system 100,000x slower than the CPU...

    Anyone Guess How Many Pre-orders

At least a fist full of pre-orders in Minnesota were made. It wasn't a line of 1200 people waiting in the rain at the store like the Model III. I think what's happened here is that there was absolutely no /wow/ factor, it was predictable, even down to how it would look. With that in mind...

    Software Update 2018.48.x

Same here. I was expecting it was not having autopilot for Pole Position. I sure wish they would fix these things, the bugs are so obvious that you don't want to show it off to anyone. The missing score info on the top of the screen is most obvious. I mean, they could not muck up the user...

An Open Letter about My Model X Body Repair Experience...

The Eden Prairie Service Center only takes customer repairs to one shop in town, even though it is not the shop that was servicing Roadsters for years before even the Model S was around. I know the shop you are dealing with and that's a consistent experience: long, expensive, and the blame...

Snarkiness aside, the Bolt vehicles are getting rammed from behind on a regular basis. Also, they run red lights and that's why they aren't in San Francisco. Feel free to find that dashcam footage on Youtube.

Blog Elon Musk Groans About Delphi’s $450M NuTonomy Acquisition

If I can interpret Mr. Musk's monosyllabic response, he is essentially saying "you have to be kidding. AI is hard. Doing it safely and right takes a lot of talent, money, time, and data. I'm not seeing a lot of anything like that here, only a turn-key attitude about an unsolved problem...

Consumer Reports Reviews SpaceX Falcon 9 Rockets

I'm guilty of smug affirmations when people see my white Tesla with a black roof and ask if the car recharges with the solar panels they claim they see built into the roof. Saying things like "yeah, the charging cable is just for if I park outside in winter and snow accumulates" comes far too...

This is definitely a window size issue. I've run into it at TMC before and at 1024x768 on Firefox 55, which is a reasonable minimum for web design, this problem shows up. It is the 1024 pixel width.

My take is they will wait until Monday to start pulling wires then spend the week doing electrical. They will possibly do the enclosure the following week, so energized in two weeks.

    NanoFlowcell Quant, Quantino

Reading that article, it sounds like every 10,000 miles, you produce toxic waste. I, for one, feel a lot safer atop lithium ion cells than abreast of two tanks of unknown chemicals in a crash situation. Perhaps they can weaponize these designs.

    Nonsense from John Petersen

So all he is basically saying is if California didn't have an environmental mandate and the ZEV credit program, Tesla wouldn't be as successful as they are. Well, they do have it. So, is he lobbying against the ZEV credit program? Oops, Quebec and other places are also introducing such...

  36. V

    Supercharger - Oakdale, MN

The enclosure that is there doesn't house the Supercharger, it houses the store's power transformer. Further to the back is where the supercharger heavy equipment will go.

    Supercharger - Oakdale, MN

Bob, Thanks for the update. I don't think they will be finished by then. The enclosure needs to be built. the city needs to send out an inspector. Couple more weeks is my guess.

    Pure BEV Dogma

This is how VW is saying they can release 30 electrified models in five years. This is how BMW can say the 330i is an electric anything with its 14-mile range. The simple fact is that there is a really short list of passenger EVs that can go 200 miles or more, far less if you exclude...

Has anyone charged up at a gas station?

Add to that I don't think the charger goes down to lower than 5 amps, so it won't charge up a Tesla. The Minnesota State Fair once had this booth of stationary bicycles to generate electricity for a radio station. It was amazing. All that greasy food on a stick turning into talk radio.

Has anyone charged up at a gas station?

The Midwest has a fuel station chain called Kwik Trip. They offer free 120v EV charging. It is thoughtful of them. Most Tesla owners in the US get by on RV park/ campground sites. I did that when I drove my 60kwh Model S cross-country before the St. George, UT supercharger was installed. It...

St. Paul Pioneer Press Article on Model III

Tesla does their winter testing in Baudette, MN. I feel safer in my Model S than any other vehicle. I don't recommend the 21" rims, though. There's no point, and the potholes are vicious. Not Detroit bad, but enough that you don't want to play Moon Patrol every time you go somewhere.
