Which will be first--Model Y or new Roadster?

My instincts would say Model Y, but Elon gave the same timetable for both during his most recent Twitterstorm--a 'few years' away. Can't get much more specific than that ;) My bet is Model Y goes into production in mid-2019; new Roadster by end of 2020 (at the earliest). Would love to be proven...

    2016 Focus EV Lease-$0 drive-off; $120/mo

This is a shot in the dark, but if anyone is interested in picking up a pretty great lease deal on a 2016 Focus EV, PM me. I worked out a deal that was $0 drive-off and $120/mo+taxes at a dealer in NorCal (fair warning, you'd have to stop once to charge it on your way back to the SF Bay Area)...

    Model X: Clever Vanity Plates

Definitely stealing this idea from this thread--thanks @Citizen-T Anyway, saw this vanity plate on an X this afternoon and thought it was pretty clever; although, I'll admit, it took me way longer than it should've to figure out what it was saying. Feel free to post any other X-specific...

    2016 Monterey Car Week Reception

Just got the invite to the Monterey Car Week event at the Seaside service center. Interestingly enough, the subject line says it's a brunch, but it'll be from 4-6pm...quite late for a brunch ;)

    Motor Trend's Model X P90D(L) Review

Motor Trend just posted their review of the Model X P90D. Summary: Feels that the falcon wing doors, windshield, and monopost seats are all gimmicks. Likes the auto-opening driver's door, infotainment system, and autopilot. 0 to 60 in 3.2 is the quickest SUV they've ever tested. Full review...

    Autoblog Model X Review

Looks like Randy shared his Model X to the Autoblog guys as well... Tesla Model X P90D First Drive Similar to the EverydayDriver review, the reviewer did question the necessity of the falcon-wing doors, and it was interesting to hear that Tesla proactively replaced the door actuators as well...

Proposed Model 3 Reservation Process Solutions

I apologize in advance for the long post. I needed something to distract my mind while I went on a long(ish) run this afternoon, and solving the great problem of the Model 3 reservation process is what my mind settled on. Here are the possible solutions that I came up with. Feel free to critique...

    Super Bowl 50 Tickets?

Admitted complete and total long-shot, but have a friend who's a huge Broncos fan. If anyone has any leads on Super Bowl tickets, I'd appreciate the heads up...

    Buick Avista--The Model S Coupe?

Maybe it's just me, but the Buick Avista (a new 2-door concept being unveiled at Detroit) looks to be very Model S-inspired... More details about the car can be found here

Model S awarded as one of Car and Driver's 10 Best for 2016

For the second year in a row, Car and Driver selected the Model S to be one of their 10 Best Cars for 2016 (this year it was the 70/70D instead of the 60 from last year). Tesla Model S 70 / 70D: 2016 10Best Cars Car and Driver Interesting to see how they'd spec it. Notably absent was the...

Tesla Store at Stanford Shopping Center

This location hasn't popped up yet on Tesla's site, but it looks like it's opening tomorrow (Saturday, Nov 7th). Only a few blocks away from the original store in Menlo Park, and per the spokesperson, it may be Tesla's biggest store (I'm assuming they mean in size, but the article doesn't say...

    2016 Prius Reveal

I tuned into the 2016 Prius reveal that happened about a half hour ago. I must say, it was one of the biggest wastes of time that I've managed in a while. The reveal didn't include any hard facts regarding pricing, efficiency, etc. It's was all about ooo'ing and ahh'ing over the design (which...

    Model X 0-60 Performance Comparison

Here's how the Model X stacks up compared to the competition...obviously there'll be some debate of rolling versus standing start , but by all measures the Ludicrous version should be the fastest SUV on the planet. Model0-60 TimeSourceGrand Cherokee SRT84.6C&DRange Rover Sport...

Santa Clara Service Center -- Opened January 2017

Happened to be browsing the open job opportunities and saw an address for the new Santa Clara service center (see below). Looks like it'll be at 2895 Northwestern Parkway, Santa Clara. I'll have to swing by sometime over the next couple of days and see if there's any progress/if it looks like...

MotorTrend P85D vs. Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Comparison

MotorTrend is going to publish their comparison test between the P85D and Charger Hellcat shortly. In the meantime, they've put up a poll asking people to choose which one they think is better (or the 'bigger badass' to use their language), and as of right now, it's 51/49 for the Tesla. Vote...

MotorTrend Reviews the P85D--Quickest 4-Door Sedan Ever Tested

MotorTrend posted a review of the P85D. The P85D clocked in with a 3.1 0-60 time, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the RS7. Incredibly impressive, and yes, 'insane' mode really does exist! 2015 Tesla Model S P85D First Test - Motor Trend

    Tesla Presidential Limo?

Looks like the government is looking to replace the current 'Beast'. Secret Service taking bids for next presidential limo [w/poll] - Autoblog They mention Tesla in the article which brings up two questions. 1) Do you think Tesla should try to make a bid for the next presidential limo? 2)...

    Rear Seat Cupholder Retrofit

One of the Edmunds editors tweeted about the lack of rear seat cupholders, and Elon responded saying that a retrofit would be available soon. I wonder if Elon is referring to the rear middle seat console that I've heard rumors about or some other retrofit. I hope its the latter as it would seem...

    Edmunds Model S Long-Term Test

Just noticed that Edmunds has introduced a P85 Model S to their long-term test fleet. Should be interesting to see more frequent updates on their experience than what Consumer Reports does (especially appreciate the first blog post being about doing burnouts)...
