Is 1'000 USD too much for a 2 year service ?

Short update, i did ask my tesla service about these on their quote: -General inspection: 252 usd -> I asked them what is included here -Receiver dryer and desiccant 332 usd -> Tesla link says every 6 years ! -Brake fluid bleed/flush: 202 usd -> to be checked first, not replace by default...

Is 1'000 USD too much for a 2 year service ?

Thanks guys for all the valuable feed-back, much appreciated, i have now arguments to discuss with Tesla, From their proposal, it seems these are questionable, especially when reading the Tesla linked above by @gaswalla : -General inspection: 252 usd -> I'm going to ask them what is included...

Is 1'000 USD too much for a 2 year service ?

I live in Switzerland, bought my M3 dual motor LR 2 years ago, 34'000 km I asked Tesla if I needed to bring it in for the 2 year service, they said it was not mandatory but they sent me a quote for ~1'000 swiss francs, which is about 1'000 usd ! Breakdown, parts and time: -wiper blades: 55 usd...

Elon Confirms that the FSD sneak peak is for car with HW3 only

I live in Switzerland, received my M3 in june 2019, just received 2019.49.50.1 today, update text does not mention new visuals, and I confirm I don't see them when driving. Is this option not for Europe?

    Traditional Odometer

Maybe Tesla could add free Supercharger miles to our account for each multiple of 10'000 miles on the odometer and pop-up a message on screen when it's about to happen.

MASTER THREAD: 2019.36.2.1 - new HOLD mode and other features

Got the update, tried HOLD many times, definitely not hearing the sound in this video.

Tap Advanced 5 times to force car to check for latest software update [Update: debunked, not true]

Just went to the software tab on my M3, it then said checking for updates, then after about 30 sec it started to download it, nothing to press, thanks for the thread,

    Oscillating noise at 70mph

Hi @Mode3Driver Any progress on your issue ? I started to hear a similar noise from the front of my M3 today, at highway speed. Bought it in June, have 10'000 km on it. Recently installed my winter tires, Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 235/40 R19 96W XL. Have not noticed any noise at first when...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

It does not show much on the picture below but I repainted the part with a more shiny paint, that matches better with the other chrome trims. I just need to remove the chrome Tesla logo on the hood. So once last picture, as a conclusion: Those who have experience with 3D printing and are...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Hi All, After much priming and polishing, I finally got to paint and install my front moustache and logo. After asking around, people preferred the silver gray finish to the chrome, so i went with this for version 1. We'll see how the feed-back goes, I might try my chrome paint too at some...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

The logo is not part of my design, I just reused the one found on Thingiverse and cut it to mate it to my part. So I can see if it's better or not without it. I'll probably make the file available after I've tested it. I don't know if it will fit the curvature of model Y bumper though. I 3D...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Switzerland is not part of EU. But I would happily trade my swiss plate for a GB plate, i think they look cool.

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

I'm not finished to polish the part yet, still some defects, but I tried to wrap it with the chrome film I bought, just to try the fit, it gives an idea. I'll probably try to paint it with this chrome paint first, if it does not come out right, then I'll wrap it. I don't have the black Tesla...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Yeah, check a few messages up this thread, you'll see a picture. I've printed the 2 arms hollow, so it's quite thin in front of it, no error messages on screen, but I have not driven with it yet.

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Probably. I'm just a little concerned about the fact that it covers the radar, I don't want any liability for this. Let's see after I've installed it and tested that the radar behaves the same way (if there is a valid test for this). Meanwhile, i'm adding more layers of filler primer in spray...

yeah, i did use the Model S as a template for the overall shape.

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

You have a good eye. Yes, that part is a little different from the real one because the 3D model, for some reason, does not have the same bumper curvature as the real M3. So I designed my 3d part on my 3d scan, not this 3d model. Here it is just for rendering purpose.

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Here we go. Planning to wrap the one on the hood with black vinyl. Wouldn't like to take it off.

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

I made these 2 renderings tonight. First one with regular satin chrome window trim, so then with satin chrome moustache and black logo. Second one below is with black window trim, and matte black moustache and chrome logo. I think I prefer the first one.

    Model 3 customisable 3D model

Looking at the rendering above, I'm wondering if the rear wheel is not placed too much inside. I just re-used the same spacing for rear wheel as the front wheels. Is this correct ? I'm too lazy to check. If someone knows the spacing of front and rear wheels, i can then check my model and...

    Model 3 customisable 3D model

Hi guys, for another project I'm working on, I needed to make a decent computer rendering of our M3. I found this model on Thingiverse: Tesla Model 3 by stunner2211 But apart of the wheels, this model was designed in one single mesh, so it was not possible to assign different materials to all...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Thanks for the tip about the 3 cars. I need to run a few simulations with my rendering. Chrome might not be the best option. The window trims on the M3 are between a mirror chrome and a matte silver. Maybe that could be better than full mirror chrome. I need to split the M3 mesh I found on...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Allright, a bit of progress to share on my project. I finished to 3D print the 3 parts and assembled them together. Pictures/video below is just a very rough cut of how it could look like. It's just the first coat of a grey primer/filler with a black Tesla logo hand drawn. Still lots of work to...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Just thinking: - some folks would happily wrap their front bumper with all sorts of vinyl or ceramic paint protection films. There must be a certain thickness and material type threshold that we can put in front of the radar. Also when there is a mud/snow/ice/insects buildup. I will print the...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Found a picture here: Front plate obstructing the radar And a video here (skip to 8'30''): So my part would cover the radar. That sucks. Although the radar is already located behind the plastic of the bumper, not sure what it would do to add another plastic part in front of it. But it's not...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Good question. Anyone's got a detailed plan showing where the front sensors are located ? I do have some clearance between my part and the top of the license plate.

That's actually how I called my 3d files
  30. Hugues1965

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

It can be done in any color. I will (probably) paint mine with a special chrome paint because my car is black, but I agree that black would be better for the other car colours. One could wrap it too I guess, the shape is suitable for that.

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

I used this 3D scanner: https://www.einscan.com/desktop-3d-scanners/einscan-sp/ The link you gave with the black add-on on the white car looks nice. But he did not give much details on how he did it. We both used the Model S overall shape. But I think he made his a little too wide. I tried to...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

I also thought (for about 10 sec LOL) to cut out the front bumper to simulate a grille, but I thought it's not a proper way to treat a 2 weeks old car LOL. So technically I don't call it a grille, not even a mock-up of a grille. It's just an add-on with relief that's meant to enhance the look of...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Thanks. I'd rather do away with the front license plate, but it's mandatory here. Although the front swiss plate is narrower than north american plates, like this below (not my car). I will probably redesign the plate holder, make it much slimmer and closer to the body, and move it down a notch...

    Model 3 3D printed nose add-on

Hi guys, New here, Canadian living in Switzerland, got my M3 in June, just an amazing car. I've been posting mostly on forums.tesla.com but I thought some of you might be interested in a little project I'm working on. I just want to spice-up a bit the front of the car with a 3D printed part I...
