    Safety Score

Yes, I was on autopilot for most of the drive that didn't register yesterday. However, I did a drive this morning, again mostly on autopilot and it did register. So, at least I'm getting a safety score now.

    Front axles keep breaking

Update - It's been about 7 months. No further problems with the axles, so I guess replacing the front drive unit took care of the problem. I'd still like to know how the "damaged" front drive unit caused the axle breakage, but I guess I should just be happy it hasn't happened again.

    Safety Score

Opted into FSD beta on my Model X screen. "Pushed" the button, checked the boxes, etc. Installed version 4.1 of the Tesla app on my iPhone. Went for a 20 min. drive. Safety Score is not showing in the app. Deleted and reinstalled the app, turned off and restarted the iPhone. Still no joy. The...

    Front axles keep breaking

UPDATE - Relative to the broken axle half shaft problem. I picked-up my MX from the Marietta, GA service center. They replaced the front drive unit and both axles. Since then I've driven about 600 miles. So far everything is holding together. According to the service center something was damaged...

    Front axles keep breaking

Just an update. The Tesla Service Center has decided to replace the front drive unit, as well as the axles. Hopefully that will take care of the problem. Stayed tuned. I'll update this further when I know more.

    Front axles keep breaking

I have a Model X long range that is a little over 1 year old with about 12,000 miles on the odometer. It developed the "dreaded" suspension shudder under acceleration. Tesla replaced both front axles and this seemed to help, however after about 600 miles of driving following the replacement I...

    Camera condensation

I got a blind spot warning on the passenger B-pillar camera when I started on a trip yesterday. When I checked, it was condensation blocking the camera view. It cleared up after about 15 minutes of driving.

    Rear View mirror question

Good to know it's not just me. I've installed blindspot mirrors on the left and right side view mirrors. This helps some, but I'd still like the rear view mirror to be usable. What they really ought to do is make the rear view mirror a display screen that shows what the rear camera is seeing...

    Rear View mirror question

I recently picked-up my 2020 Model X. I've noticed that the reflection in the rear-view mirror is very dark, like it's always (day or night) dimmed for bright head lights. Has any one else noticed this problem?

Schedule Service function blocked on app

That's strange that you don't get the "Do you need more help" button. I don't know what to say since it shows-up for me. As for closing the loop, I've found that Tesla takes a very minimalist approach to interactions with its customers. Too minimalist in my book.

Schedule Service function blocked on app

You have to be logged into your Tesla account before you 1. click "Contact Us" 2. You then choose the appropriate topics and describe your problem. 3. Click Done The new page lists 3 possibilities for finding answers; however, at the bottom, it says "Do you need more help? 4. Click "Yes"...

Schedule Service function blocked on app

I'd suggest signing into your Tesla account on the Tesla web site and then contacting support via chat at the following link. You must be signed into your account before you use this link. Customer and Product Support | Tesla Support Select the appropriate choices and explain the problem...

    Paying Tesla for idle time

Yes, I did try the nearby Supercharger and everything is working. I just think that Tesla could send a text or email confirming your payment and reestablishment of your charging privileges.

    Paying Tesla for idle time

On a recent trip I incurred an idle time billing while supercharging. As a result, Tesla sent me a message in my Tesla app saying my supercharging privileges had been disabled until the bill was paid. I added a payment method in my Tesla account and did what I thought paid the bill; however, I...

    Thanks, that clears things up.

Charging window won't appear on my display

Please bear with me as I try to explain this. At the bottom of the center dash display screen there are various menu items. The third from the left side is a button with an upward directed carrot. If I touch this I get another menu list along the bottom. One of the choices is "Charging". This...

    Software updates

ilyak, Thanks for the information. I looked at the web page you suggested. If I am interpreting things correctly, 2019.40.2.4 is the second or third most recent update with 2019.40.50.1 being the most recent. The bar graph on the page for "Contributing Vehicles" appears to list only 7 with the...

    Software updates

The latest software update is listed as 2019.40.50.1. I've installed the latest update I've received, but on the Tesla app it's listed as 2019.40.2.4. Are these the same, or am I missing something?

    Automatic features

    Thanks Shawn
  24. Steve Kempf

    Automatic features

Yes, I have left the FOB out of range, but wouldn't it be useful to have a toggle in the app that would turn automatic functions off or on and leave the doors unlocked when they were off. I often want to have the FOB on me when washing the car to open and close the FW doors, trunk and frunk.
  25. Steve Kempf

    Automatic features

I have my car setup so that the lights come on, the driver's door opens and the mirrors unfold when the FOB is in range as I approach the car. These are useful features; however, when I'm washing the car or when it's in the garage I don't want these things happening every time I walk by the car...

Schedule Service function blocked on app

Just a follow up. The problem is finally solved, but I'm not sure if it was the support chat or the second time I contacted a person at the Tesla Store. Whatever, at least I can now set-up service if I need it. (-;{ The good news is the problem can be fixed if your persistent and don't get...

Schedule Service function blocked on app

Yes, I tried to find a place on the web site where I could see the appointments and also where I could set-up service, but I couldn't find any link for it. What does one do if they don't have the service app handy or, as is my case, if the app won't work for scheduling service???

Schedule Service function blocked on app

This may take a bit to explain. My new Model X was delivered on 12/5/19. The next day when I looked at the Tesla App I discovered that if I tap the "Schedule Service" link, there was what I'll call a "phantom" appointment (that I did not make) for service on 12/4/19??? Unfortunately, there is no...

    Tesla App questions

Thank you for the suggestions. I can't find any way to delete the appointment when I sign into my Tesla account, so I guess getting them to do it at the service center is the only option. Since the nearest service center is a 2 hr drive, I contacted the sales rep I worked with and he said he...

    Tesla App questions

I've installed and signed into the Tesla app on my iPhone. I've looked at "scheduling service" on a YouTube video and when they tap the "Schedule Service" listing on the apps main screen in the video, they get a list of various common problems that one could schedule service for. When I tap the...

    Model X doesn't detect home wi-fi

Shawn, I like your rocket. A friend of mine and I used to build them from the ground up many years ago, though not quite on the scale of yours.

    Model X doesn't detect home wi-fi

The rest of the story (so far). Thank you to everyone for all the suggestions and advice. I decided to try a NetGear AC1200 range extender. I set it up using WPS, placed the extender in a wall socket 3 - 4 ft form my Model X and was able to easily log into my wi-fi. I'll see how it goes speed...

    Model X doesn't detect home wi-fi

Good suggestion! Yes, it sees the phone. So I guess I need a range extender for my wi-fi. Right?
  35. Steve Kempf

    Model X doesn't detect home wi-fi

One strange thing, there are about 10 wi-fi systems in my neighborhood that my computer picks up in the garage, many with strong signals, but my Tesla doesn't see any of them.

    Model X doesn't detect home wi-fi

    Model X doesn't detect home wi-fi

I've tried searching this in the forum, but I must be doing something wrong because I can't seem to get results for anything that I try to search. I just picked-up my new Model X and am starting to learn the ins and outs of its operation. When I try to connect to my home wi-fi by touching the...
