Refresh Model S Review First Impressions - Very Lengthy

This is an absolut AMAZING review! It is 100 % spot on and exactly how I feel. Especially the STUPID UI!!! I can’t believe that Elon who experienced this before production approved it! Mine is the Plaid, so I still feel even happier than you overall due to the crazy power. I do hope they hire a...

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

I meant the wh/kg. 186 vs 160 wh/kg, so 88 KG less weight. Where do you get the kwh and usable from ? The EPA docs show 99.882 for the plaid and 100 for the P100D (when using density * weight).

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

You must have 19 inch wheels and driven like a Grandfather. My lifetime average for my old P85D was 390 wh/mile :) First week of Plaid with LOTS of flooring 320 wh/mile. This time I did choose the 19 inch. The new ones are not that ugly as the old ones and rather have the additional range

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

In the current software there is no energy graph for the plaid and the ideal/rated checkbox is removed.

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

Ah, this makes more sense now. However there is still the confusion of what is the consumption the car shows. It would make no sense if this includes the charging losses as once the power is in my car I don't care for the range what was lost. In my old P85 there was a line in the energy graph...

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

This is not the point here. Not sure about EPA and charging losses, but if this is taken into account it should even be a bigger battery than if those are not included. My math was that at 29kwh/100 miles as the EPA states, the AVAILABLE battery should be 114.26 KWh. So with the buffer this...

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

at the posted 29 kwh per 100 miles (for 19 inch) that should equal to max 334 miles, not 396 as the EPA rating. Is my math wrong ?
  12. J

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

Ah stupid me. The 348 is with 21 inch wheels. With 19 it is indeed listed at 396. So it must be a much bigger battery than 100 KW, about 115 KW usable so 120 KW ? I could not find any info on this. Only guesses.

Plaid showing range as ideal ? (And no setting for ideal/rated)

Got my Plaid on Tuesday and today charged to 90% which came out to 356 miles. This is of course to good to be true, so I thought it must be due to the range setting as ideal instead of rated. However there is no such setting (next to the percent/miles setting where it was at my old S). Is that...

Report: Tesla, Hertz Negotiating Timeline of Massive Model 3 Order

I rented a bmw 330 last year. I was shocked what a crap it is compared to a model 3. Sure its nicer build and has more options but driving and UI is horrible. One must be stupid to by that car , especially as it will depreciate horrible.

Death of a center screen / touch screen after warranty

I am in the same boat. 12/31/2014 P85D with 83k miles in HOT Florida which I think is a big factor. I am afraid this is a 100 % failure part :( I will keep this thread posted with solutions.

2014/2015 Fully loaded P85D+ for sale

The day I sell this car will be the worst of my life, but my plans for the near future require me to cut costs :( The car was built on 12/31/2014 and delivered on 01/13/2015. It has all extras available at the time of purchase minus the rear facing child seats and winter package (which I think...

GM thinks Bolt will lose 70% value in 2 years with 20k miles

It's a few weeks ago now (before I got the M3 invite) that I went to the Chevy dealer to drive a Bolt to see if we maybe get it as a temporary solution. I will not comment on the driving experience (other than I absolutely do not understand Wozniak), just look at the crazy numbers when I asked...

Looking for good deailer in Tampa

I worked for years with Andrew from Mayestic Car Wash to detail my car. His service was always awesome and cheap but unreliable. Lately this "unreliable" turned into something a new word must be invented for. I have finally enough and are looking for a replacement. Anybody can recommend a good...

New DC charger in Switzerland with Tesla plug !

I Did you ever use a Chademo adapter ? It's a joke compared to the Tesla adapter. My point was that it would be great if other car manufacturer could just accept that Teals is the better plug and drop their competing standards. Chademo is already dying.

New DC charger in Switzerland with Tesla plug !

This is amazing ! I wish it would be the beginning of getting rid of Chademo and CCS :) With Tesla now charging for their SC's , I think this makes sense.

Tesla Trade In Value Is Bizarre, What Is Our 2016 S P100D Worth?

Just to go back to the original "complain" of low trade in values. Last year Tesla approached me with "now is the best time to trade in your car and upgrade" with 53k !!! offer for a fully loaded 2 year old P85D. Ok 50k miles BUT this is 65 % loss in 2 years. I learned from my mistakes, and will...

Service Bulletin for Rear Drive Unit "clunk"

I am still one ahead of you. Was on my 5th in my old P85 and just got mine replaced in my new P85D. They gave me a brand new X90D loaner. Nice but prefer the S.

    St Petersburg supercharger (location speculation)

I am wondering if the planned St Petersburg supercharger will be at USF. They have a solar roof with Tesla battery storage, so they are already in business with Tesla. There is one greenlots CSS/Chademo and one L2. Not much room in the garage, but maybe a smaller location with less stalls ?

Got new Michelin PSS "TO Tesla, Acoustic Tech" tires on P85D

Got new Michelin PSS "TO Tesla, Acoustic Tech" tires on P85D

The Hankooks where terrible for my P85 , I got wheel spin at 30 mph ! Unfortunately there are no 265's but my last P85D setup was PS2 in the back and Hankooks in the front to save some money. The difference was only noticeable on extreme driving. However with the quite PSS we have now, I won't...

Got new Michelin PSS "TO Tesla, Acoustic Tech" tires on P85D

These tires seem to be brand new and kind of special for Tesla. The good old PSS but with the foam liner to reduce noise. Just got them installed. Car is still not as quite as I want it to be, but much quieter, especially on good asphalt roads. Price installed for the staggered 245/265 was 1650...

Shelby Mustang GT350 Owners Suing Ford Because It Isn't "Track-Ready"

At least MS is not the only car anymore who goes into limp mode on track :) Only that Tesla did not promise the MS to be a track car ! Will be interesting what the outcome of this lawsuit will be. Shelby Mustang GT350 Owners Suing Ford Because It Isn't "Track-Ready"

Extended warranty denied because I did not do the scheduled inspections

Yes you can. Anything else would not make sense because it would render the "not mandatory inspections mandatory". They are mandatory from the day the ESA is valid, i.e 6200 miles is the first mandatory inspection.
  39. J

Extended warranty denied because I did not do the scheduled inspections

No issues yet ? Hard to believe that with a 2013 P85.
  40. J

Extended warranty denied because I did not do the scheduled inspections

Good news, after the usual terrible Tesla communication finally the regional manager called me and basically confirmed what my expectation was. Inspections are mandatory AFTER you purchased the ESA and not doing them before the originally warranty expires is no reason to get the ESA denied...

    P100D Battery Upgrade Scheduling

Obviously you only drove "American swingboats" before :). I am GLAD to have a P85D+. I smoked corvettes in curves when they got scared and slowed down while I was passing with zero tire squeal. I drove M5, 911 Turbo etc in the past. Tesla did an amazing job and for me it is the perfect trade off...

    Tesla assured price program email

Below the email I received today. Great way to piss a customer off ! My car is a fully loaded P85D with 135k original price. Ok, it has 50k miles, but Tesla sells 40k miles P85D for 85k. I will go to Prosche, MB and McLaren to see how much they pay if I buy a 160k new car (P100D). I of course...

New Drive unit for 2016 refresh

Wow, you are better than me :) Was on my 5th on my 2013 P85 and my P85D started the buzz noise at about 40k miles and getting so loud that it's time to get it replaced. Unbelievable that Tesla still is not able to deliver dependable drive trains. I can only laugh about the "lasts 1 million...

How far have you driven in one day? How fast?

Our first long trip in 2013 was from Florida to TeslaRoadTrip meeting in Washington. As I had to work on Monday, we left Sunday morning at 6 AM and arrived 900 miles later in Tampa around midnight. I think it is still a record for that distance including charging.

Extended warranty denied because I did not do the scheduled inspections

My car reached the 50k miles and since Tesla still can't be trusted to build reliable cars I wanted to buy the extended warranty. However I have been told by my SC that I can't do so because I did not do the scheduled inspections in the PAST. This is ridiculous ! I still remember after the...

Tesla seems not to believe in the longevity of their own cars..

My P85D is MUCH better than by P85, but still unacceptable for such a car ! I AGAIN have drive train noise, countless rattles and noises, poor body alignment, had a stuck parking brake etc. With that low mileage I never ever had an issue with other cars. Maybe I was just lucky. It would not...
