which custom mode you should choose for powerwall with net meter and no time based rates?

I have been wondering the same thing as the OP. With no time of use rates for my electric, and the lost efficiency of storing my energy daily, it just seems more efficient to take the credit from the local utility and not rely on my batteries to power the overnight hours. I agree it’s not a...

Ordering Soon - SunPower or Tesla?

I have 4 powerwalls being installed, all sourced through my solar installer. I signed the paperwork in late Jan or early Feb. When I heard about the new rules from Tesla I reached out to them and was told not to worry. My only requirement was to get the install done before hurricane season...

Ordering Soon - SunPower or Tesla?

I have SunPower (360W panels) with Tesla PowerWalls being installed right not (literally walking on my roof right now). I'm doing 11kWp at ~ $3.05 per Watt - before incentives. So far I have been super impressed with the installation team. They should hopefully be wrapping up today.

Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

Picked up my p100 w/Ludicrous a week ago today. I still don’t have Ludicrous or Autopilot enabled. No one at the Charlotte service center, or at the 800 number seem to have a clue on how to address this issue. Over an hour on the phone on Friday resulted in them saying it will probably resolve...

Anyone received delivery of 2019 'Raven' Refresh?

Raven Model X w/Ludicrous is scheduled to be delivered on 6/17. They just sent me a new order agreement and Ludicrous no longer shows on the order. They said that’s the only way they can provide the $20k discount. Is this how it worked for everyone else? I expected a $0 line item for Ludicrous...

    Charlotte electrician recommendation

I'm pretty much living with 110v charging right now. For the most part it's fine, my commute is only ~12 miles. I would love to get it done in the next 4-6 weeks, but I can be flexible for a trusted contractor. Bill

    Charlotte electrician recommendation

Just moved to Charlotte and need to get my HPWC installed. Can anyone recommend a good electrician in SE Charlotte or Union county? I may have to get a service upgrade along with a second 200amp panel as part of the install. Thanks Bill

    Part Identification?

Thanks For the clarification. I hadn't noticed any adverse effects, but it's only been a couple of days.

    Part Identification?

Anyone know what the vertical slits just below the camera are in this picture? I just installed my dashcsm and I'm concerned that this may be partially blocked.

    EVmote App

I'm new to IFTTT and trying to get it to chain events through Maker. I've created a recipe that turns on the climate control when I tell Alexa (Amazon Echo) to warmup the car. Is there anyway to have IFTTT automatically run another recipe that sets the temperature too?

    Firmware 7.1

Cool, but I wonder how easily these could be "hacked"? Would it be possible for me to change the meaning of the sign with a sharpie? I'm not real familiar with how the information is encoded, so maybe it's not realistic to be able to make a change without invalidating the code.

    EVmote App

My primary reason for wanting Paypal is due to how Paypal tracks re-occuring charges. I can cancel my subscription at any time through Paypal without relying on the service provider. It's not that I don't trust Ryan, it's more that it's easy to forget what all the miscellaneous re-occuring...

    EVmote App

Ryan, First I just wanted to thank you for hard work on this project. I definitely enjoy the trip tracking and was just about to start playing with the IFTTT integration when you made it a Pro feature. I went to sign up for Pro for a month to try it out, but I'm not familiar with Stripe for...

    Firmware 7.1

If she's sitting in the car she can just touch the control panel and the car will come back on for heating/cooling and media. No key needed, unless that has changed recently.

World Map of Model X Reservations

Invited to configure today! Nice to see some progress, but we won't be confirming an order until we can see one in person. We have two large dogs that need to be able to fit behind the second row of seats and it's still not clear on whether that will be possible.

Found a part in my back seat

Thank Trev, I figured that much out :) I'm not missing any parts as far as I can tell. It looks like it fits behind the door handle. Probably just a bonus part.

Found a part in my back seat

I was replacing the LED lights in my back seats earlier this wee (Thanks Abstract Ocean!) and I found this part. I'm guessing it was left there by mistake during manufacturing since I can't find a home for it. Anyone know what this is? Bill

Free stock black mats NOVA/Shenandoah Valley only

I recently replaced my stock mats with Lloyds Luxe mats. If anyone is interested in my stock mats I would be happy to give them away. They are black and I have the two front mats and the single rear mat. They can be picked up in Herndon or in the Winchester area. Thanks Bill

    In the snow!

There was no snow on the car before I started to drive. All of that snow accumulated on the car while driving.

    In the snow!

Yeah, temp in the cabin was 74 or so. I was actually shocked when I got out of the car and saw how much snow had accumulated in the hood and grill.

    In the snow!

Wasn't sure where this best belongs, but I just had a long drive home in the snow today. The car handled perfectly with my Michelin X-ice tires, but I think I've finally figured out the one thing an ICE is good for...melting the snow off the hood. My car was free from snow when I left, and this...

    Hokie Model S Owners

I've made the trip twice now and have had about 30 miles of range left on the trip down to Blacksburg, and about 40 left on the return. The trip is 208 miles door to door. I've heard that I should expect a 10-15% hit in the winter, but I haven't driven mine in cold weather yet to verify.

    Hokie Model S Owners

Good trip down. We made it with about 30 miles to spare on a full charge. I averaged between 70-75 for most of the trip. We stayed at the Holiday Inn right across from the Inn at Virginia Tech and I charged at the Kroger gas station right behind our hotel. Two J1772 spots at 30A. It took...

I'll be heading down in my 85 next week for the UNC game. This will be my longest one way journey to date. If all goes well I'll probably drive to the Duke and Maryland games as well. That weather last week was brutal. You have to love 3OT when all you want to do is dry off. Tonight's game...

Some Pics of my Gray 85

Thanks for all of the compliments! The NSX next to me belongs to a coworker and I was shocked how small the NSX looked next to the Model S. I always thought of the NSX as being a decent sized car.

I have an 85, so getting there shouldn't be an issue. Just worried about getting home :). I think we'll take the ICE down for the first game and see what our options look like. 60k people coming into Blacksburg for the weekend might result in the public charging optIons being in higher demand...

    Fog Lights Gone?

Furthermore, I wonder if they could leverage the wiring harness used for the foglights for parking and/or collision prevention sensors. There was also the screenshots showing the adaptive cruise control settings in the diagnostic menus on the 17"
