Iphone 15 Pro Max case that allows Tesla wireless charging?

Yikes! Ive ordered a couple cases to try, I think it needs a thin back. Will post here if I have success.

Iphone 15 Pro Max case that allows Tesla wireless charging?

Iphone 15 Pro Max w/ Apple stock clear case does not charge on 2020 MY wireless charging pad. Tried up/down left right pad. No go. Other info: Without case, charges on Tesla pad no problem. With case charges fine on home wireless charging pad. Had Iphone 12 Pro with third party clear case...

Wipers don't work properly in Auto

A monkey was trained to drive a Tesla and learned to continually press the left stalk button to cause the wipers to swipe once. The monkey was amused as it was kept very busy during downpours. Actually it was a chimp.

Any way to turn off forward collision warning?

Great thanks. Will check that setting.

Any way to turn off forward collision warning?

Any way to turn this off? Never triggered until recently, now it buzzes frequently, must be due to an update or perhaps camera issues or both. I know, "safety first" but lately this has become an annoyance that disturbs passengers, it buzzes loudly when absolutely no risk to rear ending the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Did a 1500 mile trip in my MY, no road trip issues and it was in rural areas without the normal compliment of Tesla superchargers. Does take a bit more planning than a gas car but not much more. These articles seem to be all about other EVs not Tesla. And they are probably done to justify a...

Thumbs down skips song and gone forever!

Can Tesla change the UI so 👎 does not skip the song. You can easily skip anyway. Driving and want to 👍, car hits a bump, 👎 by mistake....song is skipped and gone forever! IF it didn't immediately skip the song, you could change your vote while it is playing. Audio command would be better but...

Road trip CA to Oregon and back

Would be nice if Tesla added some of the ABRP features into their nav. I had checked out the route in ABRP days in advance, then forgot about it. ABRP gives better choices. On the road I rely on the Tesla nav, in this case it made a bad choice. Have noticed Tesla nav will happily get you to...

Road trip CA to Oregon and back

Some more detail. The one it skipped is 150kW in Bandon, OR. Going from Klamath, CA to Neskowin, OR on 101 the whole way. The nav chose this: Crescent City, CA charge to 100% Newport, OR 4% remaining upon arrival! Had momentary panic until seeing the one in Bandon (right on 101) on SC map...

Road trip CA to Oregon and back

Tesla model Y performed well on a 1500 mile road trip in mostly rural areas along the California and Oregon coast. A few things. Supercharger prices in Oregon half California. As soon as you cross the border. Way to go Oregon!! :D Bring the mobile connector, you might find AC outlets for...

Wipers Turning to Manual from Auto

Wiper and headlight controls are the weakest features of the Tesla. They need to rethink both. The issues are not trivial.

2023 Model Y LR Poor Mileage in real world

I like your attitude. I do the same. Display % (not miles) and let the nav plug in the supercharger stop. % at supercharger stop and destination amazingly accurate. I used to set the sc stop when charge rates were very different but now they are all about same where I travel, so just let the...

2023 Model Y LR Poor Mileage in real world

Model Y LR. Driving SF to Tahoe and back (in the summer). Very consistent. Need to calculate the round trip, elevation change makes a huge difference.

2023 Model Y LR Poor Mileage in real world

We get ~290 mile range on (mostly) highway road trips. Head wind, elevation change, temps, speed are factors. 290 is based on a round trip. 70 mph average. Setting autopilot helps by maintaining constant speed. Super consistent. I consider this good, about 10% less than EPA rating. Haven't...
  17. N

    Battery consumption, is this normal?

My model Y gets just under 300 miles range on road trips. At about 70 mph avg. Super consistent. I let the GPS decide where to charge since superchargers are all about the same price now, at least where I travel.

Recent road trip - experience with auto steer and traffic aware cruise control

I agree with everything you say and yes TACC improves range. I do still use it from time to time on freeways where I'm not changing lanes much. I wish they would get rid of that annoying chime when it turns on/off or turn down the volume.
  19. N

"Take control immediately" (not using any Autopilot features)

I've had this happen a few times also with AP off and nothing unusual going on, other than a curve in the road ahead, Im in my lane where Im supposed to be. I ignore it but it startles my passengers. No point to speculate on the bug,Tesla's job to fix it.
  20. N

Recent road trip - experience with auto steer and traffic aware cruise control

I dealt with these quirks by turning off autosteer for good. I use TACC rarely. My road trips are now less stressful for me and my passengers. No more "wtf are you doing??" " I'M.not doing anything."
  21. N

Cruise control inappropriately slamming on brakes

I also suspected having autosteer enabled increased chances of phantom breaking, so disabled it for good. Phantom braking using TACC seemed to be less frequent but still happened. This is all empirical from small sample size. Who knows. So don't use TACC much either. Safety first.
  22. N

Cruise control inappropriately slamming on brakes

Have had a model Y two years and would recommend to anybody. But TACC and wipers are a problem. Don't use TACC much due to phantom braking and no not a 'drama queen' when the car suddenly brakes on the freeway for no reason.Never had another car do that. Lucky nobody was behind me when it...

Fed up w/not getting new FSD. Lawsuit?

The name 'autopilot' itself is a marketing ploy. It's easy to convince a non skeptical reporter you've just given drivers the same capability as a pilot of a jumbo jet! Sounds super cool and transformative. In practical terms it's apples and oranges for reasons that are self evident.
  24. N

Fed up w/not getting new FSD. Lawsuit?

No, he didn't believe it. But it's really cool to imagine it and even cooler to get lots of other people to believe it.
  25. N

Fed up w/not getting new FSD. Lawsuit?

I'm gonna go ahead and posit a different explanation. Tesla touted FSD for the hype. They knew it wouldn't be easy. But that's not the point. Hype leads to sales. Early adopters and techies love hype and love the idea of FSD. Here we are 6 years later and Tesla has reached mass market and...
  26. N

Fed up w/not getting new FSD. Lawsuit?

Related topic. There is some class action suit about "phantom braking" recently filed in San Francisco court. I won't give any opinion on the lawsuit. I will say I experienced phantom braking on the freeway several times and thus reluctant to use autopilot (aka TACC). This is but one FSD...

    Good UI features are back

Earlier this year some useful UI features suddenly vanished after upgrade. Now after further upgrade they are back! Good job Tesla. Maybe they read user comments or it was way too obvious. -Battery level at destination displayed in nav screen. Disappeared now back! Text is larger too...

Is leaving Tesla plugged in while not charging really beneficial?

Good. I keep it at 50% or less unless going on a trip. I actually wish the GUI would allow you to set a limit less than 50%. You say always plug in. Even when leaving for just a few hours or overnight? Thanks for the input.
  29. N

Is leaving Tesla plugged in while not charging really beneficial?

Read my post Rocky. It says 50% not 90%. Announcement?? No I did not recommend an announcement. Somebody on this thread says it harms the battery life to charge over 50% . I doubt that hence my comment. Does it??
  30. N

Is leaving Tesla plugged in while not charging really beneficial?

This is another topic entirely. I never charge to over 50% unless doing a trip the next day. You can't set less than 50% as the setpoint anyway. I find it odd Tesla wouldn't give a warning if it harms long term health of the batteries to exceed 50%. The original question in the thread, is it...

Is leaving Tesla plugged in while not charging really beneficial?

Good question. I get the whole point of your question. If you don't need to charge, yet you CAN plug in, SHOULD you plug in? If battery has say 50% charge or more, left only overnight, is there ANY point to plugging in? I have wondered the same. There is hassle to constantly...

Supercharger details popup obscured by list of nearby superchargers. Workaround?

This problem recently surfaced in a new upgrade! Have had MY for almost two years, the UI has gone backwards in recent upgrades. This is one example.

What's your next EV after Tesla?

Overall hard to beat our Model Y. Other electric SUV's seem expensive. Would be interested to know if any around $50K. It's amazing the generous interior storage the MY offers for the overall exterior size and appearance of the vehicle. A few shortcomings (wiper controls) and some of the...

Pickup is in three days - still no request for final payment?

On pickup day, we went to the dealership, checked the car, signed all the paperwork, set up the app, paired to car, and the rep gaves us our keycards. Then he said have a great weekend and enjoy your new Tesla! We were about to walk to the car and drive away when I asked, what about our final...

    Trip planner disappeared after upgrade??

It does not seem possible to downgrade. Too bad. The new UI is less useful. Nav window doesn't show the battery level at destination on the screen like it did before, you now need to constantly scroll down with your finger to the bottom of the window to see it. Not safe when driving and it...

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

It's confusing at first. Well I wasn't confused when I drove my Tesla out of the lot over a year ago after never test driving one. UI was easy out of the box and took a couple minutes to get used to. This one is not. This UI takes a couple days to get used to, is not a good UI. Especially...

    This new UI sucks

Good point, the bot assumes the car drives itself while the human plays. In theory, that would work.

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

Different, cool, silly. No, I bragged to friends about how easy the Tesla is to drive, the simple intuitive driver friendly UI, and the great Trip Planner in the Nav so you never run out of charge. After this upgrade, I stopped bragging. Now I say it's different cool, silly. They are not...

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

One man's step backward is another man's going forward. I'll gladly take a step backward and uninstall the upgrade and go forward. Is there a way to do this?
  40. N

Profile Name on main screen gone.

Don't assume things are changed for good reasons or some roadmap. Sometimes people make bad decisions or mistakes are made. Or its designed by a bot (sarc). So far the verdict on this "new" UI is thumbs down. It`s hard to even call it new when it is so clearly a step backward.
  41. N

Profile Name on main screen gone.

Correct. Ah the little things become big things in actual real life scenarios. This UI is so much less than the previous UI, it's hard to believe it was designed by a human driver. Designed by bot?
  42. N

New version should have come with a WARNING

Upgrade should have come with a warning "If you like the UI, don't upgrade'. "If you don't like the UI, upgrade". Wonder how many would have upgraded or passed on it?? Now it's too late and we are stuck with a step backward UI. There is no way to downgrade and have the better UI, which in this...

    Downgraded UI in v11

Has nothing to do with change being scary whatever that means. Take a survey of Tesla owners from a year ago, do you like the UI? Take the same survey now. I'll bet it's lower AFTER this upgrade. Yes it is possible to change a good thing and make it less than good.
  44. N

    This new UI sucks

Everything you say is true. The UI was one of the best things about the car, have had many upgrades over past 18 months of owning my MY, this is the first one literally made me mad. U mad bro? Yes. I've been searching how to downgrade, anybody know??
  45. N

    This new UI sucks

Agree. I'll never forget jumping in my brand new Tesla in Aug 2020 and noting how easy and intuitive the UI was. No training needed and how it all made sense. Unfortunately this latest UI is NOT intuitive. So many vital things hidden, while unimportant things are elevated. Was this designed...
  46. N

Sorry, I actually like the new UI :)

My first reaction is negative. And no, it's not because it is different. The UI has had a few changes over past year and each one seemed better. This one is a step backwards in terms of driver friendly. The most glaring issue, the battery level at destination and supercharger stops much...

"Small battery" fully discharges in a month or so if the vehicle is not operated?

He's not "my" tow truck driver, he's the one dispatched by Tesla .......Yeah I should have just told him he's full of ship, and has no idea why the small batteries go dead and stick to towing. The point of the thread was, why would a *plugged in* Tesla go dead simply because it is not being...

"Small battery" fully discharges in a month or so if the vehicle is not operated?

So there is a small battery but it will be charged even when the vehicle is not operated. This sounds better.
