Childress is not my favorite SC. But it looks like you did well! In all my road trips, I think I've only had to wait once over the years. The eclipse was a special event. 32ºF is nothing for a SC - when it gets down to -10, -15ºF - then you might see some slowdowns and issues.

As others have said, batteries are not so accurate that a few % off is meaningful. It's all relative to what the battery management system thinks each 1% is worth. It's normal for it to be 2-3% off. That and the fact it will use some for it's own operation as someone else said.

You probably have scheduled precondition on. That means at a specific time you set every day or weekday, your car is coming on. Open the Tesla app, go to schedule and turn off the precondition.

It looks like TeslaScope posted a twitter thread that explained it. Essentially there is a bit that gets changed in a state json and so you have to poll constantly. Most likely it’s going to be very expensive or break fully when Tesla fully releases their new API. That’s just my conjecture.

Was this the release notes or the new data sharing screen? My bet is it was the data sharing screen that was redone. Go to the data sharing button in your main settings and see if that looks like what you just hit OK to.

When I lived in Austin area, we rarely did a day trip there. Usually stayed overnight for a few days. Destination charger is an option but one of the charms of Fredericksburg was staying at cool places that may not have chargers. A SC in town would definitely have helped. Required? No. Helped? Yes.

If I start the car remotely (like turn on AC or what not) before I get in…then it doesn't happen. If the car wakes up when I get in, it happens.
