    Are acoustic tires noticeably quieter?

This question is for those who have driven a Tesla both with and without acoustic tires

Autopilot speed to an absolute value over the speed limit has been removed in FSD Beta 11.3.1

I was reading about FSD and came across this for Beta 11.3.1: “Speaking of speed, the option to set your Autopilot speed to an absolute value over the speed limit has been removed. You used to be able to set Autopilot to travel 10 mph over the posted speed limit, which would apply in all cases...

After 5-weeks, I turned FSD Beta off!

After years of waiting I finally got my FSD Beta! After 6-weeks I turned it off. I found the promise of the FSD Beta to be overblown. Yes it is very cool that the car will navigate on city streets to a destination. But the car is far too timid to be usable. It is worse than driving with a...

Cannot Disable Speed Based Lane Change

I have been using the new FSD on city streets and I really do not like it when it makes speed based lane changes. This feature is disabled in autopilot and I have no destination set, yet the FSD stack ignores these and changes lanes whenever the traffic slows below the speed I have set. I hope...

NOA button does not do anything with new FSD Beta?

Since receiving the beta I noticed the NOA button does not change anything; the act of engaging AP now seems to enable NOA. Prior to the beta, if I entered an address without enabling NOA the car would simply track the lane - no lane changes and not passing of slower cars. Anybody else notice this?

    Tesla Making Unapproved Changes

Shorty after I bought my car, Tesla took away the ability to limit regenerative braking. Most recently, Tesla decided to remove radar in favor of their Tesla vision. These changes were not mandated by a government agency, these changes were made at Tesla's whim. What gives Tesla the right to...

    12-volt Battery Capacity

I posted this question elsewhere but apparently not in an active section, so please excuse the repost: One of the things I love about my Tesla is learning new things, and so a question for you 12-battery gurus! My car has a 12V 30A (20HR) battery. I think this means the battery capacity is...

Sentry Mode to Defer 12-volt battery replacement?

As I understand it, when Sentry mode is active the cars remains awake, which means the DC-DC converter is supplying the 12-volt system. If that is the case, if we see a 12-volt battery replacement warming can we not just turn Sentry mode on, and leave it on, until the battery can be replaced...

    12-volt Battery Capacity

One of the things I love about my Tesla is learning new things, and so a question for you 12-battery gurus! My car has a 12V 30A (20HR) battery. I think this means the battery capacity is 600 amps (30 * 20), which can also be stated as 7,200 watts (600 * 12). Is this correct? Assuming the...

    OBD2 port source for un-switched 12V power

This has likely posted elsewhere but I thought I would share. In Tesla‘s, although there is no need for an OBD2 port one still exists - this is in addition to the CAN Bus. You can tap into the OBD2 bus to get a 12V un-switched power source. The link below will take you to an Amazon page with a...

    DC-DC Convert instead of Battery

Question to the battery / electrical gurus out there: We know the 12V battery supplies power to the car when it is asleep. The battery is monitored and when the battery voltage drops below a present limit the DC-DC converter kicks-in to recharge it. Otherwise, when the car is awake the DC-DC...

    12V Backup Battery

Here is one for the 12V battery gurus out there. What if a lead is run from the battery to the frunk storage area, like for those who connect a battery tender for long term storage. But in this case in the event of a 12V battery problem, could we connect a second 12V battery to the lead and...

    Tesla’s Achilles Heel

First let me say I love my Model S! It has great range, tech, exceptional performance and comfort. It is not perfect as it has less than a stellar paint job and the fit and finish could certainly be better. But what is potentially going to kill Tesla is support, or should I say the lack of it...

200 lbs. load limit on Model S?

Help me out please. On my Model S, the data plate says: Front GAWR is 1,300 kg Rear GAWR is 1,500 kg And the GVWR is 2,694 kg So then, the front and rear GAWR are the maximum axle weights and total 2,800 kg Since the car weights 2,694 kg, it seems I can only add 106 kg (233 lbs.) of passenter...
