Based on my experience you will have to sue.

I agree this “feature” is worthless.

1. The detector does automatically shutoff with the car 2. I tried the 10in and it was too short. 15in is perfect. The small excess can be pushed back into the mirror housing. It’s very clean looking.

I used the thinnest gauge wires from Mirrortap MTX-1015. Once I got the wires lined up in the proper spot they went in pretty easy.

I unscrewed/removed the piece it was attached to. Two screws. Need a torx bit. After that it was easy.

I can confirm that following these instructions I was able to use a mirror tap with my 2023 Model X with HW4.

It’s my fourth. I still have high expectations.

My 9/1 Plaid is not being built. Now 11/1 to 12/6. Local service center estimates 11/10. I’m not sure I believe them or that Tesla is organized at all.

I just got the official EDD bump. Now 11/1 to 12/6 on a Chicagoland Plaid 9/1 order. Really getting pissed that Tesla cannot manufacture an X on time. I ordered a Model 3 on 9/28 and it was delivered 10/5. What the hell is going on?

I just talked to my service center. They said my delivery estimate is now the 2nd week in November. That does not align with the app, yet…

More like 2 years. Almost got backed into today because I couldn’t hit the small horn button in time. Utterly ridiculous.

I am also not trading my old X in, but I am transferring FSD. Nobody has told me that is not allowed. My delivery window is October 10 - November 21st. Maybe I’m crazy, but I expect Tesla to honor the FSD request, even if delivered after 9/30.

Ordered 9/1, I’m Chicagoland. Originally was September/October. Moved to October/November 9/3.

Illinois lemon laws are essentially the worst in the country, but I am going to proceed with Krohn & Moss. I’m not confident that replacing the two FWD will look right or fix the issue. This just isn’t acceptable on a $100k+ vehicle.

I will ask about a collateral exchange. Thank you for the suggestion. I do have a reasonably smelling 2018 Model X loaner for now. Schaumburg service center has been accommodating.

I talked to the dealer this morning. The recommendation is to replace both FWD’s. I will have more details later today or tomorrow. Crazy!

Still no update from the dealer. I am starting to work with Krohn & Moss on a lemon law claim. Over 50 days out of service and counting with no resolution is unacceptable. I don’t want my money back, simply a replacement that works.

They provided a loaner.

They did, posted about it in another thread. In the short time I’ve used it’s it’s been world changing. Love the wheel.

My X is back with Tesla support. I’ll post an update when I know more.

Telsa service had my Model X for almost two months working on the falcon wing door phantom detections. I was so happy to pick up my car yesterday. Tested a few times and it was ok. I tested more today to find that the issue with phantom detections is actually worse than before I brought it...

For what it's worth I just held my yoke next to my new round wheel. Without doing a materials analysis, they look and feel the same to me. Obviously not definitive.

I believe the material is the same. I haven't had any problems with the yoke, but I've only owned since 9/22 and have 4k miles.

I'm 5'11". I don't keep my seat very low or high, kinda in the middle.

Attached is a picture of the view with the new round wheel. IMO the wheel doesn't blocked anything more than the yoke.

Based on seat and wheel positioning nothing is obscured for me. Loving the round wheel. What a concept, someone should have thought of the round wheel sooner.

I ordered two weeks ago and the install was set for tomorrow. The service station texts me and says it on back order. Really disappointed, the round steering wheel is so popular Tesla can’t make enough, ha!

Interesting. How do I know if sensors were actually replaced or not? The invoice said they were.

I just ordered. Can’t believe they’re charging $700 for something that should be free. I wonder if they’ll let me keep it. I recently had FSD computer installed in my 2018 Model 3 and they wouldn’t let me keep the old computer.

Upgrade to an iPhone and all the phone key problems will disappear. :)

I will begrudgingly pay the $700, but this should have been offered from day one. IMO the yoke is great for straight driving, but a pain for turns. I think the retrofit should be free.
