FSD Subscription at End of Month

Have a road trip coming up. Want to try FSD. If I order now on march 28 do I get billed 199 for the month of march and the. 199 for the month of April? Or is it just once every 30 days? Or do they prorate your first month if you order late in the month? I’ll likely cancel at the end of April and...

    6/3 NM-B on conduit

You seem knowledgeable. What does this mean? If I have 6/2 NM-B Romex cable, can I safely run it in 1" ID PVC? 0.75" ID PVC?

New Construction - Need Help with Exact Phrasing for Garage Charging

I am likely going to buy a new construction home that is currently framed and wrapped. I want NEMA 14-50 outlets, one on each side of the garage (to use mobile chargers x 2 at the same time.) What exact phrase should I have added to the contract? "Seller will install a NEMA 14-50 outlet on...

2021 AGI for to qualify for EV tax credit?

I am just starting out and have decent income but minimal assets so I don’t have an accountant. I was hoping by chance there’d be an accountant (or IRS person) on here

2021 AGI for to qualify for EV tax credit?

Thank you. Anyone with an accounting background want to verify that info? I’m not trying to defraud the IRS and you’re probably right but for 7.5k I’d like to be sure

2021 AGI for to qualify for EV tax credit?

I looked elsewhere but couldn’t find an answer for this specific issue: Per IRS website, “You can use your modified AGI from the year you take delivery of the vehicle or the year before, whichever is less. If your modified AGI is below the threshold in 1 of the two years, you can claim the...

Model Y Not Worth the Price Now [Nov 2022]

This picture captures quite nicely how much better the Tesla interior is compared to any other car I've ever seen including that eyesore above it. I don't want all that *sugar*. I want sleek and minimalist. This isn't 1999, I don't want to see big ugly vents, a bunch of ugly physical buttons...

All Tesla Owners in U.S. and Canada With a Safety Score of 80+ Will Receive FSD Beta Tomorrow!

Thinking about subscribing to the FSD if anyone can confirm they got into the beta with the sub and not the one-time buy... Bueller?

In the face of a recession, should I buy a Y now or wait?

People have been taking themselves out of the labor market for years now. Unemployed does not count "disabled" people with some lower back pain who aren't working and aren't looking for work and make enough on SSI etc. to eek by. That's millions of people who in fact are unemployed (by common...

8 alerts showing at the same time

I have a similar problem: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/traction-control-regen-tacc-lane-change-warning-dead-every-trip-70-mph.271617/ It is triggered consistently by drive at 74mph or faster, TACC use doesn't matter. I have stock summer tires on my MYP. Service Center had it...

Traction Control, Regen, TACC, Lane Change Warning DEAD Every Trip > 70 MPH

Unfortunately, took it to the SC today and they spent about an hour and thought they fixed it: "Diagnosed and Check wheel alignment. Made minor adjustment. Reset steering angle. Road test: verified repair." But they said they only got it to 75 mph for a minute or so. Took it home, took to...

Traction Control, Regen, TACC, Lane Change Warning DEAD Every Trip > 70 MPH

Oh of course, I don't expect anyone to have a solution - I was curious if anyone had this happen to their MYP and if so, what all did SC do to fix it. Fortunately, I hardly ever drive on the highway, the Tesla is still safer than my other car (tiny old Toyota with ABS but otherwise no special...

Traction Control, Regen, TACC, Lane Change Warning DEAD Every Trip > 70 MPH

Love my 2021 MYP but over the past five months, I've had this strange and unfortunate problem: whenever I drive over 70 mph, within ~10 minutes, my perfectly-working MYP errors out and I lose regenerative breaking, traction control, stability control, etc. All of this all at once. I have to...

What does do you get with full self driving if you are not part of the beta?

I'll resub to the monthly next time I have a lot of road trips because the souped-up TACC (autolane change, navigate on autopilot) is very nice to have. The month I trialed it, I did not get into the beta so I don't count on FSD as part of the $200/month - just the autolane change, nav on...

    The elusive blind spot chime

Wrong. Flying with a trailing drone 50 feet above your Tessie with a 360 degree view camera and LIDAR giving you an All Clear is the only acceptable way to change lanes.

How the Heck am I supposed to Clean this Thing?

I did the self-wash a few times - that works OK but the brushes they have our questionable. So now I am doing touchless automatic car wash when it's >30degrees. No trouble with that so far!

Model Y Performance Totally Impractical for Snowy Climates?

Not yet. Haven’t had any snow stick and it hasn’t been below freezing much. But winter is coming, brother. Good choice.

    Immersive Sound Disappears

Interesting. Tesla mobile service came by to swap a headlight and I mentioned the lack of bass on some restarts and he wasn't aware of the connection with Sentry mode / the sub not being restarted - he was talking about the center console or something like that being the problem. Pretty...

No winter tires in stock for 19" anywhere

I had good luck with Tsportline. Bought 19” winter tires pre-mounted and balanced and Tesla TPMS sensor pre-installed. Arrived quick. Cost $4k though. I’ve only ordered from them once but they got then to me last week and I think I only waited a week.

Update: Went with Tsportline: TS5 19" Tesla Model Y Wheel and Winter Tire Package (Set of 4) - Satin Black / Michelin X-Ice Snow Winter / 19x9.5" Front & Rear Set me back a little over $4k. Just put them on last night - hope I did it right. Seem fine and managed to get them on just in time...

Swapped in some 19" Winter Tires from Tsportline but Unsure how to Calibrate

How the Heck am I supposed to Clean this Thing?

Yes. But what it leaves out is any reasonable plan for the half the country driving in salt and snow every winter. I love the MYP god forbid it gets wounded in action.

How the Heck am I supposed to Clean this Thing?

Yeah I’m really struggling with the idea that I need to drop another $4.5k on PPF or ceramic wrap after just spending that much on winter tires & wheels & TPMSs. Why Tesla would deliver a sports CUV with summer tires in the late fall in the Midwest is beyond me. If the ppf or wrap is essential...

How the Heck am I supposed to Clean this Thing?

a couple important points: I live in Wisconsin. It’ll be freezing cold outside and snowy for months on end. The roads are all salted. This is my commuter so I will be in the thick of it - snow and salt - daily for months on end The Tesla manual says Touchless car wash only (if can’t do by...

Model Y Performance Totally Impractical for Snowy Climates?

That's a great idea. What's getting me is that I need a car ASAP, and do not want to lose my spot for the MYP. Nothing else on the market excites me.

    September 2021 Order Delivery Dates

I wonder what the income cutoff will be for the EV incentives, and what the price cap on the vehicle will be... I imagine a lot of Tesla owners earn too much to receive the incentives, and e.g. the MYP I ordered is >$60k which might also not make the cap. Happy to be proven wrong, of course!

    Recent MYP Delivery Estimates

MYP with Tow Hitch, no FSD, White exterior/Black interior VIN: not assigned OD: 9/2 EDD: 9/30-10/20 I assume they'll be moving my EDD since I'm now within the window and no VIN.

Model Y Performance Totally Impractical for Snowy Climates?

Super helpful stuff. Thanks, including FirstInTown. I understand that when the temperature drops below 45F or so, the summer tires become stiff and lose traction, hence the need for alternate tires in the late Fall through early Spring. Should winter tires be used when it is under 45F some of...

Model Y Performance Totally Impractical for Snowy Climates?

Are you referring to these? The price is not quite as painful as I was seeing for wheel/winter tire combos from other dealers. And then I would get whatever benefit the summer tires have when it's warmer out. Also, I didn't realize the Mobile Service was so useful. That's pretty cool!

Model Y Performance Totally Impractical for Snowy Climates?

Thank you. I've lived in the Midwest my entire life and have never had summer or winter tires - only ever had all-season tires. In fact, I didn't know people who live in cities / suburbs with typical driving habits even bothered with winter tires. I thought that was primarily for people going...

Model Y Performance Totally Impractical for Snowy Climates?

I ordered a Model Y Performance with estimated delivery in a few weeks. Having second thoughts. My primary concern is that I live in Wisconsin where it is very cold and usually snowy at least four months per year, and the default MYP 21" tires are apparently not safe in cold, icy weather. I only...
