    Supercharger - Cornwall, ON

All the stalls were down yesterday. I'm lucky enough to have a Chademo adapter so was able to use the new unit (many CCS. 1 Chademo) at the Canadian Tire store, but there were a LOT of pissed Tesla owners who were stuck with no way to charge!

Hit and Run on a parking lot on 3rd Line and Dundas in Oakville

The three semi-local Tesla approved shops are Budds, as already noted above, 427 Auto Collision on Evans Ave., and Leons Auto Body in Toronto. Be very careful using any other shop. It's not that they won't do a good job on the body work, but I've had a couple of shops say that working on Tesla's...

Why does my phone access not work periodically?

From time to time, both in my previous Model S and now in my M3, the phone app wouldn't connect. Rather than uninstall and reinstall the app on my iphone, I would just reboot the car from the steering wheel by pressing and holding the two buttons at the same time, and that would generally fix...

    Does this make sense?

They do have a telephone crew in the back office at Oakville that perform a number of functions. I wouldn't be surprised if this is quite true.

No PWS for Canadian new M3

My M3 delivered Oct 2019 had it, but I bought an isolation kit from abstractocean.com and now enjoy glorious silence! Very easy to install (they have a decent installation video to follow as well).

Tesla Mud Flaps / Paint Protection Kit

It can be scheduled with mobile service through the app.

    SuperCharger - North Bay, ON

The card, as I recall, is free, but you will associate the card with one of your credit cards or bank accounts in order to 'reload' funds on the Flo card as needed.

Where to buy inexpensive floor mat for the rear trunk and front trunk?

BougeRV Trunk liner on Amazon - $69.98 for Model 3, and fits like a glove. Also, I find it less 'slidey' than the Weathertech trunk liner I had on my Model S.

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

Don't see why you would be having an issue. I had XI3s on my S85 with aftermarket rims last year and had no issues with regen, other than the normal cold weather issues with limited regen when the vehicle is cold until the battery pack is sufficiently heated. THe same thing applied to the...

Costco told me Michelin X-ice Xi3 wont fit with my SR+

I second the Kal Tire suggestion. The place in Milton does a ton of Teslas (and have no problem mounting Michelin XI3s on aftermarket rims), but there are a couple of locations in Hamilton, if Milton is a bit far afield for you.

    Canadian CHAdeMO charging

The Ikea chargers in Burlington are notoriously problematic. The Chademo chargers in particular have been non-operative in the past. I suspect the problem lies with the charger and not your adaptor. Have you tried it at other chargers in the area to see if the problem repeats?
  12. M

Which winter tires are you biying?

As it happens, I have a set of Michelin X-Ice 245/45R19 bought at the Oakville Service Centre last year and installed by them complete with Tesla issue TPMS. Rims are 4 years old with some curb rash but still look very good. I'm trading my S85 in a 3LR later this month so they are available if...

Tire change over to winter in Toronto area

KAL Tire in Milton does a ton of Teslas. Excellent service.
  14. M

Which winter tires are you biying?

I was talking to 'a guy' at the Oakville service centre (no names to protect him) and he didn't think much of the Pirelli's that Tesla offers on their website. I bought the Michelin X Ice last year for my Model S through the service centre, and they were great over last winter. Far better than...

    Supercharger - Quispamsis, NB

There's a Chademo in St. Stephen at the Garcelon Civic Centre. The Five Kings Restaurant is right there as well, and it has excellent food.

New Tesla App update - Seat Heating within mobile app

As good as this is, it pales in comparison to the introduction of 'Fart Mode'!

    Supercharger - Aulac, NB

The L3 Chademo network along the major highways in New Brunswick is quite good, so you shouldn't have much of a problem. If you need a top up before crossing the border, there's a decent 69 amp L2 charger right beside an excellent restaurant ( 5 Kings Restaurant and Picaroons Brewhouse) in St...

    Atlantic Canada Superchargers

I just returned today from a trip through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. I had been a bit worried as well about the charging situation after Riviere-du-Loup, but I was very impressed by the Chademo chargers - especially the excellent network in New Brunswick along the Trans Canada! I never had...

A thread for people with no problems

I'm at 78,000 Km since March 2014, and I love my S85 as much today as the day I took delivery! Sure, I've had 'little' stuff that's cropped up, but in every instance I've been more than pleased with the service from Tesla. My expectation (and experience) is that every vehicle will have issues...

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

Storage and tire exchange, including setting pressure, torquing the wheels and re-setting the tire pressure monitor was $150 plus tax. Plus they did an overall courtesy inspection including inspecting and cleaning the charge port (always useful after a wet winter), topped up washer fluid and...

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

They certainly do that here in Southern Ontario. They've stored mine at Mississauga, and now Oakville, since 2014.

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

It was a very well run event, extremely well attended! Lots of Tesla owners, of course, but I was surprised at the number of ICE drivers in attendance as well. Kudos to the valet parking staff. They were kept hopping but did a great job!

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

I stopped by the Oakville service centre today. It is SO close to being open! The display area out front is in prime shape, The Model X was in display mode, with hood open and lights on, the Model S was gleaming, and the big screen display in the middle was up and running. Looking through the...

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

I stopped by the new Oakville Service centre today. Had to make my way through a large assemby of Halton's finest, complete with SWAT team and dogs - no idea what was up with that! It looks like considerable progress is being made. the exterior looks pretty well done, and a large crew was...

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

Per DMC-Orangeville's post under Eastern Canada Superechargers, it appears that the Oakville Service Centre will have 8 Superchargers. Listing is up at Supercharger.info. Southern Ontario won't be able to complain about a lack of charging options.

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

I drove by the Oakville location yesterday, and there has certainly been progress since my last visit, when it was essentially ripped back to the bare metal frame. I understand that they hope to be open by the end of the year, and they just may make it.

Drove by the Oakville location yesterday, and there are certainly signs of progress. Not too long ago it was just a shell, pared back to the bare metal supports. I understand that they hope to be open by the end of the year, and it looks like they might make it.

    Canadian Stores and Service Centers

I was taking advantage of the mild weather to wash my car today, when I got into an interesting conversation with a fellow washing his in the stall beside me. It seems he works for a firm that is involved in building the Oakville Service Centre for Tesla. He says that the location will be at...

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

Buffalo supercharger construction seems to be in high gear, with completion looking to be mid-May. Updates (and pictures) can be found here: http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/25873-Buffalo-Supercharger-Updates/page13

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

I was there a week ago Tuesday. There were three spots ICE'd along the far side, although one woman came out of the fitness centre and drove off while I was charging. I've always wondered why people try and get parking spots close to a fitness centre just so the can go in a walk for an hour on a...

Nav in Canada (or at least Toronto)

Having used navigation systems in Infiniti, Cadillac, BMW, Ford and Tesla over the last few years, IMHO Tesla is the easiest to use by far. Infiniti wasn't bad, but the rest were varying degrees of awkward, with BMW being absolute garbage. All have limitations and you always have to take the...

    3G connectivity issues since V6.xxx

I had the same issue, and the same response from the SC, with the exception that they suggested that "Always Connected" be checked off. I did that, but then noticed that my power usage climbed quite noticeably. Now I compromise. For routine days, when I don't really care about instant...

    Eastern Canada Superchargers

I know it's not really part of the Eastern Canada Superchargers thread, but there seems to be movement on the Buffalo supercharger as well. I received an e-mail from a PlugShare contact today: "Tesla is meeting at Clarence town court at 7:45 pm on November 5 to get permit for supercharger on...

Who in Canada will order the new P85D?

The P85D sounds like a hell of a vehicle, and the price point doesn't sound unreasonable, given the additions. That being said, I love the hell out of my underperforming old tech S85, and I'm quite content to let the Silent White Ghost take me where I want to go for the foreseeable future!

Time to Shop for Winter Tires

I just ordered 4 Nokian Hakkapelitta R2's after my mechanic ordered one in for fit and size. It looked great, and I've read nothing but good about them on the discussion boards. I don't think they save much (if anything) over the standard Tesla offering - especially once you factor in the cost...

Canada: Asking for feedback on electricians who install outlets for Teslas

I used JML earlier this year and was quite satisfied. He's done a LOT of Tesla installs in the area and is quite familiar with the process. Keep in mind that the application for the rebate has to be made within 6 months of PURCHASE, not installation.

Ontario rebate - 12 weeks (and counting) normal?

Mine took a little over 3 months as well. I finally had to call the Ministry of Finance at 1-866-668-8297 (as shown on the Electric Vehicle Incentive Program application). It took a couple of weeks after I enquired, but it finally appeared in my bank account. I never did receive an official...

Opticoat - Toronto, GTA, Peterborough, Belleville, Kingston area?

I had Opticoat applied to my White S85 and followed up by having Proskin applied to the hood, fenders, etc. I'm very pleased by the look of both. It cleans up very easily as well, and judging by the number of bugs that I wipe out every week, ease of cleaning is important.

I was at the Lawrence Avenue location on Saturday, and as of that date they had not received any word from Tesla as to when superchargers would be installed.

Quack (aka is it a dealership?)

When people talk to me about how cool my Tesla is, and then ask me: "Is there a dealership somewhere where I can check them out?" I suppose I could whip out charts and graphs and reasoned point form expositions about how Tesla is NOT a dealership structure... or I can simply say: Yeah, they have...

Quack (aka is it a dealership?)

Interestingly, most of those who insist that the Toronto location is NOT a dealership are writing from locations far, far away from Toronto, while those of us who are in or near Toronto say that it at least LOOKS like what most would consider a dealership. I'm fully willing to concede that...

    Center Console

My wife swears that it's the PERFECT place for her purse to sit so that it doesn't take up space around her legs. I don't think she'll be voting in favour of a centre console.
