If it gives anyone of you peace of mind, my 356xxx VIN has AMD. No idea if sequential VINs should be expected to have the same chip but there it is.

Yeah that makes sense. My theory was only with regards to how EDDs behave for individual owners (like when does it update before or after entering the window) and not how to figure out how Tesla determines from on high who is worthy to receive a car this week. :)

Is it consistent for folks in the same delivery area? My theory on how the EDD behaves is tied to the “last mile” delivery of the vehicle, since that’s the least predictable.

Mine had 13 at delivery. That was after they drove it up from the service center (about 7-8 miles)

Hi All busy day! Finally took delivery on day 156. Car is nearly perfect just a minor issue with the frunk. Panel gaps were good. Drives great. 10 fingers and 10 toes and working USB ports. Haven’t had a chance to play around too much yet. Will post the specs tomorrow.

Got an automated From Tesla confirming the appointment for tomorrow. Not sure if this is helping anyone but it’s certainly cathartic for me. :)

This is the closest I’ve ever come to my scheduled delivery without Tesla pulling the plug. Car is supposed to be delivered tomorrow at 10. Day 156 if it holds this time.

VINs are mercurial. They come and go as they please with no regard for your EDD or, indeed, scheduled delivery / pick up dates.

Man I wish there was a way to track the car on its way to you. This is what happened with my first delivery.

This is inaccurate. Tesla took money out of my account the day after connecting plaid (and scheduling the delivery for the following Wednesday) and then cancelled my delivery because of weather. Been waiting ever since and Tesla has my cash.

Entered my EDD window today 1/6-1/20. From past experience it’ll likely stay that way until tomorrow when it’ll either shift by a week or 2 or it’ll narrow. Still no VIN since they pulled the last one out from under me on the 26th

Ditto and I also put down a hefty deposit. I enter my EDD for the 6th or 7th time tomorrow. We’ll see.

Yeah no idea. My SA said they could have a car for me end of this week (possible but I’m not holding my breath), so I didn’t pull the trigger. Yet.

100% agree with this. I’m in this same situation and through no fault of mine the delivery was cancelled. Same story. 30-45 days to return the check. Do not use plaid or pay in advance. Hand over the check at the time of delivery if you can.

Any thoughts on how to track VINs that were unassigned? Ditto deliveries that were cancelled?

IIRC I got the VIN after the first time my EDD shrunk to 2 weeks. It shifted around a lot after that, and I didn't get the "Schedule your delivery" text until about 2 weeks later (Which seems unusual, given what I see here).

Helps when they “deliver” the same car to two different buyers. :) I am mostly over it at this point though. Mostly.

Yeah just looks like maintenance. Given the timing (Sunday morning PST) I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s planned. Best not to panic unless it doesn’t come back in a few hours or if the data has changed.
