I find the turn indicator buttons to be fine in basic driving, but challenging in when trying to indicate a desired turn when already turning, such as in a roundabout or changing lanes coming out of a corner. Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

It would be quite interesting to see 1) how much power and energy Tesla’s vpp fed into the grid and 2) were there other peaker plants that kicked in or other suppliers that jumped in? Our home contributed 14 kWh - just a drop in the bucket...

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Came home and noticed the low powerwall level (missed the vpp announcement. ) first started to check the tesla app but it appears that the app doesn't keep history of vpp events. The energy log had all the indications of a vpp event, but no event log. Or am i not looking at the right place?

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

I'm informed that Tesla does have a separate company that performs the leasing and they don’t explicitly pass it on to the customer. They may include it in their internal calculations. Appears that GM does that as well.

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Commercial customers avoid the IRA restrictions (MSRP Cap, buyer income CAP, battery sourcing requirements) that apply to individuals. In most leasing cases an automaker's EV is sold to a leasing company who receives the $7500 credit and leases it to an individual. The leasing company has the...

Tax credit 2023 [The tax credit discussion thread]

Tesla does not show on the government’s list of makes eligible for the IRA used car incentive. There are used Teslas that meet the $25k constraint. Any insights on this? Is it just that Tesla hasn't gotten around to filing appropriate documents?

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

Suddenly clear. Commercial customers avoid the IRA restrictions (MSRP Cap, buyer income CAP, battery sourcing requirements) that are applied to individuals. Individuals leasing is typically a "loophole " to avoid the IRA restrictions since the IRA allows a commercial customer to receive the...

You should be good with superchargers. One advantage of an RV park are the amenities. Some have pools, showers, laundry, etc. You can often overnight there at a low cost.

I mentioned purchasing Milepost. It's great to show you where most of the RV parks are, and their service. However, not all RV parks are listed. They pay a fee to be included. Nonetheless, i wouldn't make the trip without it. By the way, what's your general route? Guy Hall First EV Driver...

Tesla Virtual Power Plant in CA

Does anyone have research on the size of Tesla CA VPP is in comparison to other peaker plants? Or the cost per kwh to the grid in comparison to other peaker plants. A quick check seemed to show most peaker plants were about 50MWs and up. Tesla VPP with about 3,500 homes started off at about...

First of all, i think VPP are a marvelous idea - both compensating power wall owners and providing clean peaker power to the grid during challenging periods. That aside, if i have to pull energy during an event from the grid after my batteries hit the reserve limit, am i charged at the $2 rate...

Superchargers open to all other EVs later this year (2021)

Balancing NEM buckets over the year

That was confirmed to me today by a PG&E solar rep on phone. The big surprise to me, and why I had such a challenge understanding the true-up, is that during the true up ALL peak, off peak and partial peak buckets are treated the same. There is no incentive by NEW2 to over produce during...

Powerwall & Solar "tab" disappeared on version 3.10.14

I used the term "tab" loosely. When looking at one of my teslas I swipe left and get the second Tesla. Normally when I swipe again I would get my solar/power/grid/home screen. Not any more. That display is no longer accessible on my phone with the 3.x version. It's on my wife's phone with...

My wife updated her phone to app version 4.00. I have not updated my phone app since I like the combo graphs. However, today, my app stopped showing the solar / powerwall "tab". Rebooting the phone didn't help. Any one else see this? Any suggestions? or am I forced to go to the 4.0 version?

Solar is not charging Powerwalls during power outage

We have a 21KW solar roof and 3 PWs. Lost power a couple hours ago and recently noticed the PWs are not being charged by our solar generation which the app reports at 0. The PWs are at 87%. Given it's mid day, I expected the sun to be charging up our PWs or supplying the house which is only...

Did anyone catch the new PGE EV rate on 8/1? [wrong tariff]

I'd love to see a significant raise in n.g. rates. We need incentives to shift away from from n.g. Might be a surprise to know that PG&E supported a decision in Sacramento to change building codes for new construction to NOT allow n.g.. New buildings will be electric only.

Did anyone catch the new PGE EV rate on 8/1? [wrong tariff]

I would expect that was load shifting and would expect more load shifting in the future. Given that solar and wind are getting cheaper and wildfire issues have dramatically increased i would be surprised transmission/ distribution rates didn't increase faster than generation.
