Autopilot is getting worse, not better.

Just surprised. Have two Teslas with EAP and used it almost every day for > 2 years and have never seen this.

Your autopilot turned on the indicators itself? Hmmm

    [UK] 2023.38

Thanks @Tonybvi Ours is 2019, but slightly earlier. Still no camera, still no AP and still waiting to hear from Tesla. I'm sure they'll sort it 👍

    [UK] 2023.38

Has anyone else had challenges with 38.6 on a Model X? I updated last night, and all seemed well, but not the car is showing 'Software Update Required - Schedule Service'. The car drives, but all cameras are not working, and therefore AP won't work. I've tried rebooting, but it made no difference.

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

Thanks @Chewy13 yes, I have noticed drives missing too. I can cope with those, but then missing charges are problematic (for me).

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

I exported my charging stats this morning for company expenses, and I noticed Tessie does not capture all charging events. In September, it missed 2 long supercharging sessions and 3 home charging sessions. I'm now wondering if I've been blindly trusting Tessie's stats for months, but it's...

UK: buying from Tesla used inventory.

Typical time is 8 weeks. I got my first Tesla in 8 weeks. That was last year. Second Tesla in 4 weeks. That was June this year. 4 weeks because it had already been prepared, etc.

    [UK specific] Software Update 2023.26

I think Tesla stated it wouldn't be coming for a while due to issues with Tesla Vision. It was in the release notes (20.8, 20.9?). Until they can make Tesla Vision as accurate as USS, they have too much risk of claims from owners. Put another way. You ain't getting Summon back.

Autopilot is getting worse, not better.

@WannabeOwner Funnily enough, I was about to write a similar post. Our MY occasionally misbehaves. Phantom braking, but it's improved significantly over the past year. Our 2019 MX is really good. Of late, I have done several 100 mile+ runs in the MX with Autopilot driving pretty much the whole...

Autopilot is getting worse, not better.

But consider these forums represent possibly 1% of Tesla ownership, and these forums (like all product forums) tend to be a whine-fest. Moreover, this is the pommie forum, so the whining is turned up to 11 ;)

Autopilot is getting worse, not better.

I think you should be raising a service request. There's something wrong. We have an MX and MY, and I almost never get false alarms. Had one genuine event in probably the last three months. If you are having so many, I am sure you will have been saving the events to share with Tesla.

    New Owner incoming

Our Ltd company owns ours and for insurance purposes is the registered keeper. All good. We use Tessie and setup our electricity rates then run monthly costs Report. Each month we charge the Company the electricity to charge the car. You can likely do the same in Teslafi or any of the others...

Autopilot is getting worse, not better.

The irony here is yesterday i almost posted yesterday to say i feel Autopilot is massively improved. On Wednesday we drove from the midlands to Hither Green (South London) and I had Autopilot on the whole way. Lane change were smooth, no phantom braking, handling traffic jam on the M1 was...

    Model X Range Question

Similar. Our overall average is 383wh/mile, but we don‘t tow. 2019 100D. Motorway driving is the killer for us. Around variable A&B roads it’s more like 350wh/mile.

Hmmm, no, I believed you. I'm just saying the issue is not a global problem.
  24. L

    [UK] 2023.20.x

For you, maybe. I'm on 20.9. Did a trip yesterday where I lost cellular for several minutes. The tiles just didn't load for a section of road ahead, but once cellular reconnected, the tiles loaded. It's always behaved like this for me when traveling through parts of Wales.

    Update Observation

Yeah, I had this problem. Kept saying last update July 17th when I installed 20.8. I did the two button reboot and it immediately pulled down 20.9

There is no comfort suspension and there are no matrix headlights (working)

    Full Self-Driving Visualisation Preview UK

The visualization is not really the full FSD visualization. It's just some useless graphics that offer no value. It used to display a lot more several months ago, particularly oncoming traffic, but they removed it as it highlighted how much was being missed.

    IONITY chargers

Ionity's customer support is excellent. I arrived at chargers in Stafford. All but one were in use, and the last one wasn't working. A quick 2 min call to their support team, who rebooted it, and it worked fine.

Going to the UK with a new Model Y

We’ve been driving Midlands down to Kent, Cornwall and currently in Wales and Plugshare has been great. Up to date status on chargers. Although we've mostly used Tesla SuC as it happens.

    Energy graph warning symbol?

Did this ever get definitely answered? My 2019 Model X recently started showing the orange dotted lines and warning triangle at the regenerative end of the graph when lifting off the throttle. The only thing I have changed recently is I've been testing Range Mode. It's possibly a coincidence...

Lane departure avoidance & Forward Collision Warning

I don't know what roads you're using it on. I do not use it in residential/commercial areas where there are pedestrians around, so I can't really say whether I have the same problem, but I expect I would. The manual does clearly state TACC is intended for use on dry, straight highways. In my...

    Crazy low residuals?

It's strange because main dealers (like Tesla) do not even sell the part-ex cars unless it's highly desirable or the same brand and nearly new. The cars go straight to auction, and they have an online portal that provides the market rate. BMW were completely transparent and showed me the price...

  42. L

    Crazy low residuals?

No idea who told you that. I was recently shopping around and Audi, BMW and Merc dealers all gave me a trade in offer on my MY. No hesitation at all.
  43. L

    Crazy low residuals?

Musk says many things. Few are true. Although, in this case, it's probably true. He said the components should last the lifetime of the car. Read into that what you will. ;)

    Ending a Tesla Lease early

Listened to a podcast this week with an economist from the London School of Economics. He brought up this point. He said the cost of living now is high, and he acknowledged a lot of people are feeling pain. But he went on to say that whilst you cannot compare apples and oranges, the cost of...

    Ending a Tesla Lease early

Yes. There are and 25, 30 and if you’re young enough 50. But they are not commonly promoted. You just need to ask your bank. Because of the extended term, the bank is taking a larger risk, so the rates will be negotiated at the time.

    [UK] 2023.20.x

I've never heard of 're-educating it'. You can change your AP/TACC speed with the wheel. Ironically, our perception is that sign recognition has improved with the last release, but it might just be perception and/or the roads we've traveled. If a 60mph road is showing as 40mph it is probably...

Lane departure avoidance & Forward Collision Warning

Yeah, I actually checked the manual when I was testing. I was consistently testing at 50-60 MPH, so above the 64KPH they describe, and there were clear road markings, but it still never 'klaxoned' if my move was deliberate with no indication. Hence I thought there were some 'smarts' at play...
