The year is 2035. How far have we got?

EVs are dead and were all driving round in hydrogen ICE cars, did you not read the daily mail back in the early 2020s?

Yep I'm in this boat, not a chance would I pay those amounts one off but I would consider a monthly subscription.

    Proximity sensor playing up

I had a weird bug once with the first version of the tesla vision park assist where it constantly showed as something in proximity to the rear of the car. A two button reset didnt work but letting the car sleep and then driving it again the following morning it had cleared itself.

    Run-away I-PACE, really?

JLR do a pretty good job defaming their own brand these days without needing the help of others lol

Charging solely using the Supercharger network

Honestly you should be fine, there was some data published last year that suggested supercharging had minimal impact on battery degradation. Report: Supercharging Doesn’t Degrade Tesla Battery Life If only supercharging the car was really bad for the battery the manufacturer wouldn't let you do...

    Home charger UK installation help

Nothing to worry about it's just mine have colour coded outer sheaths, yours are grey. Underneath the grey outer sheath will be another insulated cable but coloured to either brown or blue.

    Home charger UK installation help

Should be fine, mine fit in the meter box but it's tight. Failing that you can also get weather proof consumer units that can fix on in the external wall next to the meter box.

Intelligent Octopus - Is This Normal?

Well the more you know, all this time I've been pressing stop charge on the app everytime I plug in lol

Intelligent Octopus - Is This Normal?

Will IO still start charging if it gives you a 23:00-23:30 slot for example though?

    2023 Holiday Update

I've generally been very happy with the hi-fi park assist, its a definite improvement over what we had before. I know the visualisations aren't everyone's cup of tea but for me being able to see what the car is aware of gives me a bit more confidence in the system. Unlike the spaghetti lines...

    2023 Holiday Update

Installing the update now and this also isn't listed in the release notes for me. I'm guessing it's a US only thing ☹️

    HyperVolt Charge Points [megathread]

I suspect it probably would stop the charge, but it is very easy to disable smart charging in the Octopus app - just an on/off toggle.

    Tesla Vision

Hopefully we start seeing some videos of park assist in action on the Cybertruck soon too, be interesting to see how that performs with the additional front bumper cam

    Tesla Vision

Coming next week with the holiday update. Looks cool, I'll remain skeptical on how accurate it is until trying it out myself. Also begs the question, will this be available on USS cars? And if so will the USS remain functional?...

Tesla Model 3 potential export to NZ from UK

I'd be looking at prices over there and getting a valuation on yours here. Surely it can't be worth going through all the hassle to get a UK car over there?

    Fellow car cleaning obsessives...

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

I travelled down on Friday, the Gridserve at Exeter were a joke. Only about 8 of them available, the rest cordoned off, all in use with cars waiting. Meanwhile there were 20+ superchargers free. Couldn't fault the Tesla charging experience as usual, 38 minutes to go from 8% to 98% - barely...

App to help with tracking home charging costs?

I'm on IO, I just set my default home charge rate to 7.5p - it will be very rare if ever that I charge outside of the IO generated window. If I ever did charge on the expensive rate I would just manually edit the cost of that charge.

App to help with tracking home charging costs?

TeslaFi is what you want. Let me know if you need a referral code. It can track home charges (peak and off peak rates), superchargers and automatically download the correct pricing for them, you can add pricing manually for other charges on the go too. Loads of filters to filter by date...

Saw this on Reddit, I guess the front bumper cam will remain a mystery until we start see production cars delivered.

    V4 Supercharger -UK

Yeah that was my thinking, if you were wrong bayed then maybe it was an option.
  33. A

    V4 Supercharger -UK

Do you think it's possible for a Tesla to park in a bay forwards and then use the cable from a stall on the "wrong" side? Looking at your photos I can't tell if the cable might not quite be long enough.

    So… Highland is out…

Oh yeah looks visible there. I watched the car wow video but couldn't see it when he looked at the front end

    HyperVolt Charge Points [megathread]

My WiFi didn't work properly when it was first installed, resolved this with a quick call to customer support who had me power cycle the charger and then push a firmware update out to it. Been working perfectly ever since

    M3 LR RWD UK!

I'd assume not, it says partial premium interior on the inventory cars. 0-60 slightly quicker than LFP (5.6secs vs 5.8)
  41. A

    Just another Road Trip post

I've only done a couple of long trips in my RWD but I tend to find the opposite with the route planner, the initial prediction seems to be ~8% lower than I've arrived at destinations at. I'm guessing that initial prediction doesn't account for your roof bars and the car being fully laden so...

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

It's alright, I wouldn't say I've noticed any significant improvements since the initial update. I don't see the "Park assist unavailable" message as much now so maybe something has improved behind the scenes. Measurements are still very inaccurate. I use it as an aid but definitely dont trust...

Model 3 RWD pre delivery hangout

Done a couple of long trips now and I'm still so impressed with the car and charging network. Granny charging made it super convenient on holiday in Wales. Yesterday I went to Thorpe Park for the day, about a 300 mile round trip so not quite enough range. Car sent me to Rugby supercharger on...

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

I drove through a grassy field yesterday, park assist did not like it one bit. Thought we were surrounded by objects, lots of beeps lol
  46. A

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

I wondered this but the gap was way bigger than it needed to be for it to open. To the point where after I parked I actually got back in the car in reversed it back a bit more.
  47. A

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

Mine did well detecting the lamp post in the photo below, the measurements are way off though, when it says 12" and STOP there's usually a good 20" of space left. I'm not expecting pinpoint precision but surely it can do better than an 8"+ margin. There's a noticable lag when cars pull away in...

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

The loading seems inconsistant for me, sometimes its ready to go sometimes it can take about 10 secs.

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

Mine was pretty useless this morning when I arrived at work. Tried it parking in a space forwards last night when I went shopping and thought that worked well car knew the kurb was there when the front cameras couldn't have seen it because of the bonnet.

    Baffled by preconditioning

100% regen has been rare in my RWD M3 over the winter months unless I've been on a long journey. Once the outside temp gets to around 15°C though I've seen 100% regen on my 12 mile commute, that's with a couple of mins preconditioning to warm the cabin. As I understand it the motor is what...
