    Regen Braking

Noticed it here too. If you look carefully at the top of the screen there are dots on the regen bar, which I think means regeneration is limited. These dots seem to be present for up to 30 miles now at the start of a journey; definitely longer than previously. I regularly get the green symbol...

    Auto Wipers

I’ve given up on the wipers, only ever use manual control now. I know many say they aren’t fiddling with the software but since the last few releases, I get permanent dry wiping. Before someone posts, yes the camera area is clean.

    [UK] 2023.44

Similar experience last night on the M6. I’ve now succumbed and covered the interior camera and the nags have massively reduced. Prior to this TACC AS was unusable in the dark, nagging ever few minutes and not recognising even violent tugging on the steering, to the point of disengaging. After...

    Tesla Accessories not delivered

I ordered the rear dog cover through the Tesla app a few weeks ago, after a few days I got a dispatch notification containing an order tracking link. Nothing has arrived and if I follow the tracking link it diverts to DHL who indicates the tracking code is invalid. This was confirmed in an email...

    2024 Insurance Costs

Does anyone know if a windscreen replacement need to be declared as a claim whin trawling the comparison sites?

    AP nag causes AP nag

The nagging is now insane, I never let go of the steering but get nags every few minutes. Tug this way, that way.. it still nags. Then the blue mist appears and no amount of tugging, beyond disengaging will satisfy it. Autopilot is now unusable. That said, it’s better in daylight (still nagging)...

True, a simple sensitivity setting on the thumb wheel would solve everything.

    Windscreen replacement cost!

It’s a MYLR. That’s the price it said on the screen, shame I didn’t pdf it. It’s actually only going to cost £150 xs but just wondering how they justify the cash price. Doubt the insurance pays anything like this.

    Windscreen replacement cost!

I have a 2 inch crack in the lower passenger side windscreen from a motorway trip on Wednesday night (sounded like a half 🧱😟). Checking with Tesla technical documentation it says nothing should be repaired in this section, and Autoglass decision tree also confirmed this. Going through the...

    [UK] 2024.2

Are most on the 2024 software now? I’m still on the last of the 2023, not been offered an update for weeks. I made the mistake of the 2 fingered salute yesterday to see if it would trigger a download, it didn’t. However it clearly reset something, it’s ruined what was an acceptable TACS AS, now...

Odd supercharger routing and -10% arrival on recent trip.

All great points, love the one about monitoring range on the trip graph, didn’t know that. It was worth the effort to post to get all the great inputs. Many more tools to improve it next time!

Odd supercharger routing and -10% arrival on recent trip.

It went from HW to Uxbridge to charge then back up the M40 past HW and Oxford -M5-M6-M56🤷. No idea why it did this, i wasn’t in the car, but I did watch it happen on my phone app. Unfortunately the app only shows the current leg of the journey in progress so it was impossible to validate...

    Average Wh/mi since owning?

    2022 MYLR - bought in Sep - 15000 miles- 283 wh/m. Regular 140 mile motorway work at 70/75.

Odd supercharger routing and -10% arrival on recent trip.

I’d rather be able to set the % on arrival so I can cover for an unfamiliar location. I get the traffic issue it may change, but it did send her nearly 20 miles in the wrong direction ( similar distance to the M40 Oxford Junction) to a charger with 1 free location, when the M40 Bristol junction...

    [UK] 2024.2

Just posted a thread commenting on the low state at arrival, then read this. At least it’s not just me😀. It would be really useful to suggest an arrival % when on a trip to an unfamiliar location.
  17. M

Odd supercharger routing and -10% arrival on recent trip.

Maybe it’s me, but arriving with only 10%, particularly in winter when it will want to preheat prior to changing on your next trip, doesn’t leave much room to find a local charger or the nearest SC ~ 20miles . It’s never been a problem before, I just plug it in when I get home. I’ll certainly...

Odd supercharger routing and -10% arrival on recent trip.

Okay sorry this is a little long. My wife’s just taken a trip from the north-west down to High Wycombe for the weekend. This is the first reasonable longer distance using superchargers we’ve travelled (MYLR). Although it’s still only 200 miles (normally trips are 140 miles and regularly executed...

    3 Pin Charger Recommendations

I regularly use the 3 pin 2kw charger and find it more than adequate. That said I have one of the BG/Masterplug sockets and it has failed in less than 18 months of use (once every 2 weeks), it’s out of warranty so they’re not interested. Suggest you beware of these that claim to be EV suitable!

Ok, while we’re all having a moan, has anyone else noticed that the indicators have suddenly stopped cancelling regularly? Having to regularly turn them off now even after significant turns.

    [UK] 2023.44

Same with me, I’ve had recent positive experiences at night too. They are just too reluctant to get going. I suspect something to do with the screen shape and aerodynamics to be the reason this is so difficult to get right. Regularly when you’re vision is obliterated by spray, if you stretch up...

    [UK] 2023.44

Motorway drive today with rain and spray was positively dangerous with the new unresponsive wipers. Autopilot on, couldn’t see a thing, then had the cheek to flash up Autopilot restricted due to poor visibility… if it actually wiped the darn screen it wouldn’t have been a problem.🤷 Autopilot on...

    2023 Holiday Update

For what it’s worth, I’m on .5.1 and after 300 miles up/down the M6/56 I’m convinced auto wipers have changed, less responsive or irate - more work needed, but overall better. The TACC with AS was the most assured I’ve experienced in 13K miles, following distance appeared more consistent...

    Autopilot /Adaptive cruise getting worse

Just finished a drive down the M6. AP is no officially a F’in mess. Constantly panic braking for no reason while passing other vehicles in the inside lanes. They have broken it really well. I have numerous dash cams of events that will be submitted tomorrow, it’s now officially dangerous in my...

    Home charging speed

Beware that it’s not always right, mine has always indicated that “charge rate at this location “ as 16/16A, but it happily charges consistently at 32A… I just ignore it.

    [UK] 2023.38

Yes, happens on AP and normal driving, had a nightmare on the M6 Sunday. I’ve reported it and was fobbed off by a tec claiming you can fix it by turning off forward collision. Reading between the lines of the conversation, they are aware of it, but didn’t have a solution. I’ve just updated to...

    [uk specific] Software 2023.32

I suggest you report it in the app. I did last week, tec also told me to turn off forward collision to fix it, not brilliant since it was working fine! Tec called me to say he had seen some evidence on logging at the times I said, but then went on to waffle about ultrasonic picking up something...

    Charging cable with 2023 card

I use both leads all the time, only DC charged 2x in over 12 months the first being on collection. I regularly drive 150 miles between location, one with 7Kw and one with 13a socket, which easily manages to top it back up for the return overnight. The versatility is a real plus.

    [uk specific] Software 2023.32

Ok I must be the outlier here, it’s definitely changed but I think it’s a move in the right direction. It’s not perfect but up and down the M6 yesterday in poor weather, it is clearly now closely monitoring the position of the car in the adjacent lane. Most reactions were positive, particularly...

    [UK] 2022.44

Just had an autopilot meltdown halfway down the M6, middle lane, moderate traffic, alarms, gongs, bongs… keep your hands on the wheel…. They are on the wheel, indicated by me violently wiggling the steering from side to side, no joy - autopilot aborting! Never had it before and it was fine for...

    [UK] 2022.40

First drive on 40.2 today. The motorway speed limit is still missing and “autopilot unavailable”. All traffic visuals disappeared although it still managed to see the road markings either side and chimed on a green light, but no traffic light display. Did the 2 button salute with no improvement...

I noticed the missing speed limit on the M53 and M6 yesterday . Most of the motorway driving was missing the speed limit display. I’m assuming a map data file is missing from the update somewhere?

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

I did rain-x it a few months ago but it’s mostly worn off now. Although they were clearly better before 40.4.1.

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

I found the wipers close to dangerous, totally refusing to come off the lowest intermittent setting despite heavy rain. I couldn’t see at all and needed to intervene several times.
  38. M

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

Ok tonight‘s regular long drive on mixed roads in poor weather yields some significant changes. The AHB is almost there, I didn’t need to intervene once. It’s faster to react and clearly sees traffic across a dual carriageway now. Nobody flashed me. If there is a problem it that it’s a little...

    Tesla Navigation - which lane?

Tesla navigation is pretty poor, if you are coming from a fairly recent (last 5 years) BMW or Audi, you are likely to be disappointed. It’s a little like the AHB and wipers, works when it feels like it 🤞.

    UK standard 3 pin charging

You can buy a dedicated EV charge socket from the likes of Screwfix for around £60. There designed for EV charging (labled for EV charging and rated for continuous use), it has a type A RCBO included, to protect against DC which normal RCDs don’t. I use one regularly. As long as it’s wired into...

[uk] UltraSonic Sensors removal/TV replacement performance

Ok, it’s always tricky to judge . However, since 36.6 my wipers are behaving better and after just doing a long night drive, the AHB behaved reasonably well. I didn’t need to intervene significantly at all on dark roads, it behaved as expected, still erratic in well lit town though!

    [UK] 2022.36

I suspect you may be right, I didn’t know the mid camera had a slightly different function, if it has physical limitations it could be the reason why they haven’t fixed it.
  43. M

    [UK] 2022.36

FWIW I’ve been studying the AHB behaviour since doing a bit of later driving, many of the key flaws are predictable and as such, should be easily fixed if Tesla bothered to work on it. For normal 2 lane bi-directional roads, it copes pretty well, as good as the competition I’ve experienced...

Rear Door - emergency release MY

Thanks, I’ll give it a pull to find out. If it is the emergency release, I’ll see if I can fashion a loop through the cover that enables the cord to be pulled., it shouldn’t be too difficult.

Rear Door - emergency release MY

This is what I have. The slightly raised bit looks like an integral part of the carpet, after considerable force with a screwdriver was applied it did pop out. There was nothing in the hole, but after poking a finger in and fishing around, I found a wire with foam over the end. It’s clearly not...

Rear Door - emergency release MY

Thanks, there’s clearly no removable liners on mine, the trim in the door pocket feels glued down. It’s looking like the q3 uk shipment from China didn’t fit them as it was on the transition to a new setup. I’m trying to confirm this.

Q3 collections, new owners tales and experiences

Posted in the trim thread without solution at the moment, so thought I’d try here as it’s relevant to our shipment. Can any of you find the emergency rear door opener in the bottom of the rear door pocket? I’m confident it doesn’t exist in mine, the pocket is totally lined with a non removable...

Tesla replacing ultrasonic sensors with Tesla Vision

Compared to the BMW X3 I had before, there’s clearly pros and con for both, but being honest that’s cars! I suppose the AHB and wipers aren’t as good as they should be, particularly as it’s a basic and some small tweaks would fix it. The wipers just need a sensitivity adjustment (which could be...

Rear Door - emergency release MY

Can’t find it on my Sep 2022 MY, the bottom of the door pocket is just fully lined and can’t be removed. Read lots of confusing threads, earlier models had a cover you remove. It appears from October there is a new red tab, under a mat. did Sep just not get one due to the transition?

Out of interest, mine doesn’t see the traffic lights that have an arrow or slot filter, as many do in the UK.
