    Hows your adaptive high beam?

It’s weird driving on the motorway with high beam! And it makes some road signs go crazy bright. Would that look unusual to cars behind? Not sure if that’s a stupid question…

    Terrible Sat Nav Routing

Bump for this thread (and kudos for the thread suggestion feature as I had started to create a new thread on this topic). I‘ve wondered about that save X time setting and tried bumping it up a bit but so far haven’t prevented the car once again going rallying around off the beaten track. Any...

    [UK] 2023.44

Nag every 15 seconds or so today, doing 60-70 on the motorway. Even holding the wheel firmly with both hands AND constantly wiggling it back and forth within the takeover threshold and it still nagged!

    [UK] 2023.44

I had a new one today (I'm on 2023.44) - Random bongs while auto-piloting through slow moving traffic on the M25. I think I'm right in saying it's the parking sensor bongs as there were two tones (the getting close.. then the STOP - right?). No messages on screen, and I wasn't entirely sure...

Ovo UK - New EV Charge tariff

It doesn't quite work in the way you describe. I would say it is intended to be "set and forget", meaning you tell the app how much % to charge up to, and what time you want that to finish by. Then Ovo decide what time to start in order to meet those criteria. Normally it charges for a few...

    2023.12...

I didn’t notice this, and pretty sure I’ve got this update. I’ll double check.. Have you got the auto cancelling indicator mode on?

Ovo UK - New EV Charge tariff

There's an override button in the Ovo app for immediate charging. The system works by crediting your bill with usage attributed to the registered car, at home. The credit appears in the first week of each calendar month (if I recall correctly). So any other car pulling power from your home...

    [UK] 2023.2.x

Yes! This! Mine does this when passing most motorway exits and some A road exits, has done since day 1. I‘ve even wondered if indicating right to signal you aren’t taking the exit is actually in the Highway Code…

Regen - better to decelerate sharply for less time or gently for longer time (or no difference)

Cool, thanks everyone. I prefer lower regen (or at least I am better at it), I tend to overcook the 'foot off' and end up having to use a tiny bit of throttle to compensate. And yeah, I had wondered how much the visualisation is matched to the actual brake light - good to know its in sync.

Regen - better to decelerate sharply for less time or gently for longer time (or no difference)

Putting aside the debate about what behaviours may annoy other drivers (or even be dangerous)... Does it make a difference to the effectiveness of regen if the car gradually slows over a longer period vs "foot off" and slow rapidly over a shorter period? Bonus question.. does the brake light...

Ovo UK - New EV Charge tariff

Having registered interest, I've since received an email telling me to download an app and get started... I kinda thought there would be more to it than that, especially given our charger isn't on the list of those supported. I'll take a look later, but curious if anyone else is a step or two...

Tip - Cancel indicators by indicating “again”

Found this by accident, and think it is now my preferred way of cancelling the indicators when auto doesn’t do it. If you’re indicating and you half push in that direction again then it cancels. (I found that weirdly hard to describe) Seems counter intuitive but more reliable than trying to...

    [UK] 2022.44

On the topic of AP steering nag - It got really upset with me two or three times yesterday and I hadn't changed my 'wiggle' style, so maybe that tolerance has been tweaked. On the topic of wipers - Mine were also going crazy in light drizzle / heavy motorway spray yesterday.

According to a quick bit of "last 24 hour" googling, it doesn't look like lossless or spatial (Atmos) audio is there with Apple Music. Nor option to download (like Tidal). Still glad to have it, but was hoping for those features.

No snow / ice around the car on the driveway - does the battery pack give off some heat?

After the 1-2cm of snow that settled here the other day, I noticed a good few feet of driveway behind and in front of the car was clear of snow. No snow in front of the car could easily be explained by shielding from the house. But behind the car I'm less sure.. so I am wondering if the...

    Significant reduction in SC pricing

Did my first Supercharge today and was amazed to find the price at 34p! I thought it was a glitch, so scrolled around a bunch of random sites on the sat nav while charging and they all seem about 34/35 off and 44 on peak. So I guessed Black Friday and later found this thread. Very pleased with...

    Apple Music integration…

So long as it plays hi-res content I'll be happy (so long as it isn't via Bluetooth from phone). That'll get me re-instating the premium connectivity. Atmos would be a very welcome bonus.

Q3 collections, new owners tales and experiences

This weeks AP weirdness: I was in the ’slow lane’ on a motorway. Car indicated (right) by itself! It doesn’t do that in the (UK), right? At least I thought It didn’t. The “I want to change lane” display came up, there was a car right next to me so that was odd too. Only thing we can think of...

I need to learn that cruise brakes for cars parked on the road! Unrelated to that, I had a scare with a lorry coming towards me on a 40mph B road today. I was using cruise control, the lorry drifted slightly across the line into my side of the road and just as I figured we might be about to...

Hailstorm attack! (Driving home M25 Oct 23)

Thanks, I took a look. I'd seen a similar set of clips where a Tesla in stationary traffic bunny hopped forward to avoid being rear ended by someone. That was impressive. Perhaps I haven't read the Tesla guidance deeply enough (having watched what feels like years of YouTube overviews /...

I had something like this when trying to show off the Lightshow thing in the toybox. I did notice what looked like a volume slider in the Lightshow app, but I haven't had a chance to properly look. I'm guessing there is a volume context somewhere set way too loud (perhaps by default). Speaking...

Yeah, I decided Sentry at home wasn't worth the vampiring. Took a bit of faffing setting the "Home" GPS to make use of the "not at home" toggle hough. And randomly today's away-from-home charge showed up as Home in the Charge Stats (mobile app) - messing up my savings number, grr.

    Silent indicators

Twice this week I've got in the car and found the indicators are silent. They kicked in after about a minute, along with the music. So it seems like the whole car is muted, or something along those lines. Anyone else getting this?

Hailstorm attack! (Driving home M25 Oct 23)

Me and the car are still in the "getting to know each other" phase :) But as I said, I was impressed how clear the rear facing camera was in the conditions so can appreciate your perspective. I feel I need a few more miles on the clock to better understand how the car would handle when things...

Hailstorm attack! (Driving home M25 Oct 23)

Anyone else find themselves driving into the apocalypse yesterday? For us in our month old Model Y it was quite the experience. I should say now, all was well, no troubles and actually the car was great. I’m pleased and impressed. The skies darkened.. rain started.. motorway warning signs...

I’ve had a few “dry wipes” and had to manually wipe a few times too. They also like to go super speed when it isn’t raining all that much. Gripes aside, it‘s nice the driver side wiper goes flush to the right side of the window! Thanks for the comments on indicators. I did some experiments...

App shows 16A with option for lower, but car was clearly pulling > 16A?

Ah!! Yes, there was a 3 next to the 16A. I forgot to ask about that too. Excellent, thanks!

App shows 16A with option for lower, but car was clearly pulling > 16A?

Just charged at my first 22kW charger, knowing the Model Y will only use 11. The car was charging at around 44 miles per hour, which correlates with tables I’ve found for 11kW charging. But the car and mobile app showed 16A, with a left arrow to pick lower. 240V x 16A does not equal 11kW...

Q3 collections, new owners tales and experiences

Ah, I wonder if it was that. I maybe hadn’t indicated left for the motorway slip and could have been a bit “racing line” in my path round the roundabout and off onto the slip, i.e crossing lanes without signalling. Speaking of indicating, is it me or does it not like switching indicator...

Car did a strange thing yesterday - hard to describe though. Two high beeps, but not the usual Tesla warning tone, these were more like pure tones (this is the bit I can’t describe - think more like a PC speaker maybe) and the steering noticeably pulled to the left and I had to wrestle it back...
