Thanks for your input. The reason I asked was because people are complaining about "soft" paint on Teslas. The other cars I mentioned were both Lexuses (Lexii?) and yes, there were a couple of chips after a few years on the road, which I applied a touch-up paint to.

I did not know the extended warranty can be bought at a later date. Are you saying you did not buy any extended warranty at purchase time? AFAIK for ICE cars, manufacturer warranty extension has to be opted-in at the time of (or very close to) the purchase date.

Full front is two times more expensive than partial front. Is partial front coverage ( front fender, headlamps, Mirrors, partial hood, partial quarter panel)good enough to protect from road debris etc?
