Un-Pairing a Previously Paired Wall Connector

I believe that power sharing has to be orchestrated exclusively by the master. In my setup, I cannot access anything on the "follower;" all power sharing options are greyed out on its page. By moving your "follower" before turning off power sharing with its master, it probably got lost and has...

    Chrome window trim permanent stains

I had similar stains on my Audi Cabriolet windshield pillars, which were brushed aluminum. I used a light polishing compound with an orbital polisher to remove. You can do this by hand, too, but it takes a bit of elbow grease.

How to turn off automatic lane changes on new autopilot?

I have a similar issue with FSD. I would like to use it while I blissfully cruise at 55 mph in the right lane; however, FSD insists on a lane change out of the "rightmost lane." This action is not changed when I enable "Minimal Lane Changes." Also, the action occurs almost too quickly to cancel...

Have you tried your Tap Mini with the TUWC set on the 'Only Tesla' option?

Power Sharing between Tesla Universal WC and Tesla WC (NACS only) Gen 3?

I used an external junction box and Polaris connectors to split two lines off of the main coming from the electrical panel . I'm not sure there is enough room within the connector to daisy chain them, and I'm sure it would not be an approved procedure, either by Tesla or electrical code.

Windshield wiper fluid spray button WAY too sensitive

Rainy day today. I noticed if I touch the button in the middle, I get spray even with an extremely light touch. If I touch the button on the top or bottom, no spray. Could the button design be different for newer models (my Model 3 was purchased 12/23)?

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Same for me. There was a significant lag, upward of 30 seconds if I recall, before the Tesla UWC started to work with my 2019 e-Golf. I find it surprising (and a bit disturbing) that these issues remain.

Is there a way to manually turn on park assist?

I often need it when it isn't there. Per my original post, I'd like to see this screen while driving into my garage, so that I can avoid getting too close to the wall (and the stuff lining it). I have also often noticed delays in the screen appearing when approaching parking spots and in tight...

Burning 25ft 10/3 cords using my mobile connector in the rain with a 120v outside GFCI outlet

A wired wall connector will also increase the value of your house, presuming you own it. Think about it, the LACK of a wall connector will reduce your home's attractiveness to buyers 10 years from now, all of whom will be driving EVs.

Is there a way to manually turn on park assist?

This is a good point. There is nothing that is blocking my way until I am well within the garage, so perhaps there are no triggers for the screen to materialize. Nevertheless, Tesla, if anyone monitors these forums, please put a button to activate this screen manually!

Is there a way to manually turn on park assist?

It doesn't open when it's close to my garage. That is the reason for this post! :)

Is there a way to manually turn on park assist?

I have HomeLink on auto. It opens the garage as I enter the driveway but has no effect on bringing up the park assist screen. I am also well below 4 mph when entering the garage---nothing. On my VW e-Golf, there was a button to activate the park assist screen. Maybe Tesla should put a command...

Is there a way to manually turn on park assist?

I actually do not need the car to park itself, though that would be nice since I am so peripheral-impaired. I just want to turn on the visualization before I enter the garage (eventually it turns on deep within the garage).

Is there a way to manually turn on park assist?

Got it. No parking in garages! 😉

Is there a way to manually turn on park assist?

So, when I approach my garage at home, park assist does not automatically turn on. There is nothing on my screen, as if I were driving slowly on a road. If I stop and shift to reverse, the parking assist visualization comes on, but this is awkward. Is there a way to tap the screen somewhere...

Can Y open garage door without myQ?

MyQ also relies on connecting to Chamberlain's serves in the cloud. There was a nationwide outage not so long ago. So, there are a couple of failure points using MyQ. HomeLink is virtually foolproof, since the transmitter talks directly to the garage door opener. I had the Tesla HomeLink...

Wall connector charger questions (install, tax credits, etc)

By the way, my accountant just filed my 2023 taxes, and, to my surprise and disappointment, my EVSE installation costs were not allowed. Wading through my Form 8911, in 2023 there is a new set of lines that compare the "Net regular tax" (taxes paid less credits received, for me the EV purchase...

    Tesla Vision vs Parking Sensors

Have you ever had a car with USS? Ultrasonic sensors are nearly 100% reliable in an all conditions (rain, snow, dark, light, etc.) and measure with accuracies of 1% of the distance (How an ultrasonic sensor works | Sensor Partners). That's 1 mm for an object 10 cm away. There is no way that...

    Rear Hatch opening

I concur with above, no. I learned this unfortunately by pushing the open command while my Model 3 was in my garage. Even though there was about an inch of clearance between the car and the garage door, there was NOT enough clearance for the truck to open without scraping past the door. Ugh...

Serious problems with new Enel X Way software for Juicebox EVSE

Enel X was unable or unwilling to resolve my issues in a timely manner. It was also clear from their app that they were more interested in my setting up an account for them to make more money via public charging rather than making my own EVSEs work as advertised. I filed reports with the FTC and...

Front seat heater question, rear panel of seat bottom seems not to be heating

I purchased a new Model 3 in late December and have been driving in the cold, here in Minnesota. I have noticed when entering a very cold car, that the driver's seat seems to heat only along the front panel and seat back. The panel immediately underneath my bum (horizontal surface toward the...

Model 3 mud flaps in Tesla store "not compatible"

I know that mud flaps (or mudflaps) have had many posts here, but I am confused by those available for sale at the Tesla Store. When I enter an order for the Model 3 Mud Flaps, I get the message, "This accessory is not compatible with the vehicles in your Tesla account". I recently purchased a...

WWYD? Advice for transitioning wiring from 6-50 plug to UWC

Hi Cosmacelf! I've seen this and your other posts on NM-B 6-gauge wire being used on a 60A circuit. I have 6/2 Romex copper wires connecting a wall connector in my garage to a 50A circuit. The wire runs behind drywall and across the ceiling joists in an uninsulated attic, from one wall to the...

Power Sharing between Tesla Universal WC and Tesla WC (NACS only) Gen 3?

I purchased one Gen 3 TWC and one TUWC and have set them up to share power on a single circuit. The units communicate over my WiFi network. There are really no problems. I am charging both a Tesla Model Y and an e-Golf simultaneously. I just set up the TWC as the primary and added the TUWC...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

An update: Tesla pushed new firmware, 23.24.4-11ab530, to my TUWC. With it I needed to re-commission the unit, go to the Access Controls page and select a new option "Compatibility Mode" (before, the only non-Tesla option was "All Vehicles," which remains an option on the new page). Upon...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

I have noticed (at least, prior to the latest firmware patch) that there was an audible click (presumably from a relay) coming from inside the wall connector, when the J1772 button was pushed on the plug. So, it would seem that the TUWC is monitoring the button on the connector, which I think is...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

I will check it out to confirm. I am still befuddled by Tesla's stumbles on this product. The company that brought you the EV cannot build an SAE J1772 charger? ( Well, I know it is more than that, but still...)

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

It was set up to charge "All Vehicles" during commissioning. Unless they changed things, there is no "non-Tesla" setting.

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Tesla pushed the HEAD (3CAE3FBA856679)-3cae3fb firmware to my TUWC. Unfortunately, it only partially fixes the problems with charging a VW e-Golf. My car will accept an immediate charge, though it takes a long time (over 2 minutes) for the charging to start after the initial plugging in. This...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

I agree! The SAE J1772 standard has been implemented by EVERYONE else, why can’t Tesla get it right?

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Thanks. I also found this out of shear frustration. However, there still is an issue with timed charging events (since I'm not around to re-plug). It seems that the Universal Connector does not engage with the car quickly enough and misses the car's signal to start charging. I have read in...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

I also have two Gen 3 Tesla Wall Connectors (one Tesla and one Universal) installed on one circuit (with Polaris taps in a junction box), like yours. I can report that the sharing setup works correctly, but my issue is that the Universal Wall Connector does not speak reliably to my e-Golf. See...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Hello, Rivian owners! I am writing to let you know that you are not alone and to ask for your advice. I recently installed a Tesla Universal Wall Connector (Gen 3) and am having issues with it charging my VW e-Golf. While the car eventually charges when it is immediately plugged (though...

Wall Connector issue with my VW ID.4

It is set to "Charge Any Car." VW told me that there have been no software updates for the vehicle, which strongly points to Tesla software. This has happened before. Wall Connector issue with my VW ID.4

Hello, joeb316! Was your VW issue resolved? I just installed a Tesla Universal Wall Connector (Gen 3) and am having issues with it charging my VW e-Golf. While the car charges when immediately plugging into the Wall Connector, it does not respond to a timed charging event after plugging in...

Serious problems with new Enel X Way software for Juicebox EVSE

An update: It has now been over a month and Enel X still has not fixed their software. I believe the issue is that they never implemented the load sharing feature into their new software. As one of the few who did use this feature, they kludged a fix on my units to make sure that they would...

Serious problems with new Enel X Way software for Juicebox EVSE

As of yesterday, it appears as if they have fixed their dangerous load-sharing bug. Latest Model 3 with working Autopark in Enhanced Autopilot?

Thank you. Your point is well taken. I have a 2019 e-Golf SEL that has a great sell-parking feature. As one who is parallel-parking impaired, I’ve found this feature to be very useful. It is hard to believe that Tesla Vision will ever be able to do this when it is accurate to likely 12” or...

Latest Model 3 with working Autopark in Enhanced Autopilot?
