    2021 Plaid is very slow

Yes, it felt like a Chill mode.

    2021 Plaid is very slow

Ok, thank you! I never tried to drive my car with a low SOC and cold battery, and it was very surprising to me.
  3. M

    2021 Plaid is very slow

So, you want to say that it is normal? It was really slow. Much slower than my model 3 RWD.
  4. M

    2021 Plaid is very slow

Really? But I never noticed any power loss on my Model 3 even when just a few miles of range left.

    2021 Plaid is very slow

Hello! I test-drove used Plaid today; the car was very slow for some reason. I switched acceleration into sport or plaid mode but nothing changed. It was slower than my model 3 RWD. What is wrong? There are no warning messages. Maybe that’s because the remaining range was only 20mi?

Passenger Restraint Fault - 6 hours after delivery....

Yes, that's crazy but it's very hard to pinpoint these intermittent issues. I hope they will fix it this time.

What did they do this time?

Passenger Restraint Fault - 6 hours after delivery....

Unfortunately, that's how it is. I can tell you the story of one of my customers. She was about to buy a new Mercedes with MSRP $100k. When I looked at that Mercedes I saw these gaps: She asked the dealership to fix it before taking a delivery. They answered - go f. yourself. They refused to...

Cybertruck Steer By Wire Safety Concerns and Details

A variable steering ratio is a stupid idea. It's not safe - at different speeds, the same steering input causes different reactions. Or just imagine taking an exit from the highway and slowing down at the same time - you are on the circle curve, you keep the steering wheel at a certain angle but...

Cybertruck Steer By Wire Safety Concerns and Details

I don't worry about reliability. I worry about artificial steering feedback and constantly changing steering ratio. All these variable steering systems have been on the market for many years and haven't made a revolution to say at least.

Passenger Restraint Fault - 6 hours after delivery....

Take it easy ) It's under warranty - eventually they will fix it. Are you surprised by the Tesla service quality? But the same is everywhere. Mechanics are terrible nowadays. Sometimes they do more harm than good. It is normal.

Dead Model 3 12V Battery: HV Isolation Issue and 1400$ charge to fix?

You should just replace that stupid $100 battery first and see what will happen.

Has anyone done wheel alignment at Tesla?

I guess, my case is not that bad - the original tires on my Model 3 lasted for 40k miles.

Has anyone done wheel alignment at Tesla?

Did you ask them to print all parameters before and after?

Has anyone done wheel alignment at Tesla?

You couldn't adjust the camber without replacing control arms?

Has anyone done wheel alignment at Tesla?

Thank you! But unfortunately I'm too far
  19. M

Has anyone done wheel alignment at Tesla?

How was the experience? Is it worth $250? Do they actually align all wheels and parameters? Can they give a print out before-after? The problem is that my wheel alignment experience with other shops (pep boys, mavis tires and etc) was horrible. They are literally scammers! They promise to do...

2023 Model 3 door not sitting flush with body

You can adjust the door striker. Just unscrew two Torx bots and move it inward a little. Sometimes it requires hitting it with a hammer (but don't hit directly the striker, use a piece of wood)

    Fixing front door wind noise

I have recently had my driver's door weatherstrip replaced and the new one for some reason didn't seal the gap between the window and B-pillar. I could easily slide a piece of paper between the weatherstrip and the window glass. If you have the same problem here is an easy way to fix it. If...

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

I'm 100% sure it has nothing to do with the body structure and suspension design.

Fixing a hole in my Tesla - need a good touch-up paint

I hit something on a highway which literally punctured a hole in the fender! I have a Tesla touch-up paint kit but it is junk. When I try to use their blending solution to make the transition less visible it dissolves paint, washes it away, and leaves concentrated metal powder. Basically, it...

2022 Model 3 Performance trade up to 2023 Model S Plaid - handling differences

As long as batteries are not failing completely, degradation is not a big problem. Model S has a huge range and even if shrinks twice in 10 years it still will be enough for many people who are able to charge their cars at home every night. For example, I drive about 30k miles a year, but almost...

2022 Model 3 Performance trade up to 2023 Model S Plaid - handling differences

Model S reliability compared to Model 3

Can anyone compare S and 3 in terms of reliability? Now I have 2022 3 RWD. I drive a lot - about 30k per year and want to keep the car for many years (that is why is specifically bought a Tesla with an LFP battery). But Model S LR looks very attractive after the recent price cut. However is it a...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

It stays at 264 for 3-4 miles. Looks like the actual range is 267-268 but the car doesn't want to show it. And chart with the projected range is flat (horizontal).

  37. M

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

My M3 RWD 11 months old with almost 30k miles shows 264mi at 100%. But interestingly, for the first 3-4 miles after full charge the range value doesn't decrease - it stays at 264. Does anyone notice something like that?

    Axle seal leak

After 8 years these cars will not disappear. Someone will buy them used, someone will still keep them.
  41. M

    Axle seal leak

The problem with these leaks is that it takes a long time before you start to notice that something is wrong. And when you notice it - it's too late.
  42. M

    Axle seal leak

I have some good news! It turns out it is not an oil leak. I visited Tesla today and with a technician, we looked at that area closer. Tesla uses original axle seals and they put some thick green grease inside these seals (the grease looks like grease for CV-joints). Excessive grease squeezes...

    Why 42 PSI ?

I keep mine at 38psi. Noticeably smoother.
  44. M

    Axle seal leak

According to tesla service, there should be 2.1-2.3l of oil (in the rear motor). But it looks like it's below the fill plug. So you can't just unscrew the plug to make sure that it's leaking out.
  45. M

    Axle seal leak

Yes, as long as it's not leaking there is no reason to check the oil level. "Most oil leak occurs between the oil seal and the housing?" Are you kidding? 🤣
  46. M

    Axle seal leak

Yes, there is oil residue all around. I just didn't take picture of that because there is fresh oil right under the seal.
  47. M

    Axle seal leak

Ha, I got the same answer from the service ))) It's just a "road debris and fluid from the road" - clean it.
  48. M

    Axle seal leak

You should check this spot again. If you see oil residue again - demand to fix it. You don't want to drive with unknown oil level and get drivetrain failure right after the warranty expires.
  49. M

    Axle seal leak

Decided to rotate the tires today and noticed that the rear axle seals are leaking! The car has just 15k miles and is 6 months old. How is it possible? Defective seals? Or maybe the differential is not balanced?
