20” TSW Nurburgring Staggered + Michelin Pilot Supersports NorCal Local Only $990

This is my set of (2) 20*9 ET35 and (2) 20*10 ET35 gunmetal TSW Nurburgring wheels with (3) 245/40-20 and (2) 285/35-20 Michelin Pilot Supersport tires with 80% tread remaining. One of the fronts is brand new never mounted; I bought it as a spare for a road trip. This is a perfect fitment for...

TSW Nurburgring 20" as All-Season Wheels

I didn’t use spacers with mine. You can see it on the TSW website on the Nürburgring page: it’s the blue old-style S with the gunmetal wheels and custom matching Tesla ‘T’ center caps. The rear fitment is about as aggro as you could go and not hit the fender. I no longer use these and I’d sell...

    PG&E NEM 2.0

Reviving this old thread. Did anyone ever figure out how the PG&E NBC and NBC adjustment are calculated? I’m trying to model my future bills and these are throwing me off!

    Vendor Tesla Plus for iOS

To clarify, the timed and scheduled events come from your server, not the app? So my phone doesn’t need to be on for the scheduled charge to work? And it does a test charge relatively soon after parking to understand when to start?

20" Model X Slipstream Wheels on Model S

Ride was a tiny bit firmer than on the 19s but it wasn’t a huge difference. Your P85 is a little stiffer than our mid-‘15 car was, so it might be a little stiff, but also it will have more grip and slightly crisper turn-in.

That Motor Trend 1 foot rollout

At Car and Driver, we tested hundreds of cars per year (they still do). Cars are tested all over the globe and often with a single staffer on premises. Your method, while theoretically possible, wasn't practical prior to today's super-precise GPS given the conditions and time with each vehicle.

Charger Etiquette: OK to Unplug Once Complete?

You can't unplug a Tesla charger. You can unplug a public EV charger from the Tesla adapter. SFO has standard EV chargers, not special Tesla chargers.
  9. mike-415

That Motor Trend 1 foot rollout

Roll-out dates from a time before GPS timing equipment when a wheel-based timer was used and it couldn't measure accurately without roll-out. We (people who test cars professionally, which I did for over a decade) still use roll-out for continuity. And yes, it's around .2 to .3 seconds for the...

Charger Etiquette: OK to Unplug Once Complete?

I was leaving from SFO on Tue and needed a charge and the only open spot had a charger that was plugged into a different Model S in the adjacent spot (multiple spots share one charger at SFO). The charger display said "Power reduced, charging complete or paused", so the Tesla was done. OK to...

As-New OEM 20" Continental Cross Contact LX Sport Model X Tires (With Foam)

Yikes, sorry. Yes, these are still available. I moved to a new house at the end of March and haven't logged in here in weeks. Feel free to text me. My number is in the code of the area of S.F. Double-six two, eighty-seven, eighty-six. Trying to avoid the spammers but that should make sense.

As-New OEM 20" Continental Cross Contact LX Sport Model X Tires (With Foam)

265/45-20 and 275/45-20 Tesla OEM M+S Continental Cross Contact LX Sport tires taken off a Model X 90D with 50 miles. No flaws, bubbles, or issues. No measurable wear. They are the TO Tesla ContiSilent model with the sound attenuating foam that only Tesla-spec "Silent" tires have. These are over...

20" Model X Slipstream Wheels on Model S

The tires are quite different in width and height from the MX tires. (I have a nearly new set of MX tires to sell.) The 9" and 9.5" wheels are within Michelin's recommended width range for these sizes front and rear.

20" Model X Slipstream Wheels on Model S

I bought these from a Model X owner who swapped them for 22s, so they weren't expensive. The ride is what you'd expect: firmer than the 19s but softer than the 21s. I have a set of 19s, but the best tires (Pilot Super Sports) aren't made for the 19-inch size, probably because the sidewalls would...

20" Model X Slipstream Wheels on Model S

I wanted a factory look, sticky rubber, and the freedom to drive without the fear of imminent pothole related wheel damage. The 20" Model X Slipstreams fit perfectly and only a Tesla aficionado would ever know they aren't a stock fitment. Wheels are 20x9 ET 35MM and 20x9.5 ET 40MM. Tires are...

20 inch slipstream wheels with tires $2325

Would you mind posting the rear size and offset (stamped in the inside of the rear spokes)? The rears came in both +35MM and +40MM (fronts are always +35MM as far as I can tell) and I'm curious which rear size yours are. I need to a buy a set that is +35MM front and rear. Thank you.

I wasn't aware of that. Can you provide a source for this info? I've never seen it confirmed.

    P100D without Ludicrous

Ludicrous mode is a hardware change. It would be extremely odd for them to remove it.

Anyone running 20" TST T Sportlines with 285 rear Pilot SuperSport?

These are some photos of my TSWs. The first photo is a recent one with the Pilot SuperSports. The others are older with the Continental ContiSportContact 5p, which I absolutely hated. They had very poor steering feel and transient stability. It's all the same deep blue car at the same park, but...

Anyone running 20" TST T Sportlines with 285 rear Pilot SuperSport?

Thank you all for the responses. I love the Pilot SuperSport, so I am committed to sticking with the 285/35-20 rear. Thank you @PaulusdB for the info; it sounds like the TST rear wheel would be too far inward. I may be too conservative, but to preserve usable stud length, I avoid spacers unless...

Anyone running 20" TST T Sportlines with 285 rear Pilot SuperSport?

I know it's a long shot, but I have a very specific question and I'm hoping someone can help. I currently run 20*9 and 20*10 TSW Nurburgrings with 255/40-20 and 285/35-20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports and the rears barely fit. The space between the inside of the rear wheels and the inner fender...

    New P100d model S failed!!!

Interesting. When I picked my car up from service in S.F. last Tue, it was parked next to a P100D with a sign on the dash that said the rear motor had failed. So you're not the only one.

My nav can't calculate a route while supercharging. Restarted and still just spinning circles. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?

Is it necessary to sign up with Plugshare or Chargepoint?

ChargePoint formerly accepted Apple Pay, but as of a month or two ago, they stopped accepting it at a location near me. Shady, if you ask me, but it did what they wanted, which was forcing me to get an account with them.

SF to LA tomorrow: supercharging and brownouts?

Because we hate flying, we are planning to drive from the Bay Area to Santa Monica tomorrow. This requires a few Supercharges along the way. I have work meetings in Sausalito tomorrow and in Santa Monica Tuesday, so the dates aren't flexible. Any thoughts or insight on how planned brownouts will...

Buying out friend's lease - Double sales taxation?

You may need to transfer the lease to your name before the end of the lease. If you do that, you can buy it at the end. Call the leasing company and ask if you can assume it, and then it will be in your name so there's no double-taxation.

    20" Aftermarket Wheels

That said, I only got the 255s because the 245s were out of stock. It looks like the 245/40-20 is once again available, so you may as well get 245s.
  33. mike-415

    20" Aftermarket Wheels

Many people including myself run 255/40-20 on 20*9" wheels. For the Michelin Pilot Sport (best summer street tire on the market, period), Michelin says you can safely use anything from a 20*8.5" to 20*10". 245s are closer to stock diameter, but 255s work fine in all situations except when...

    L or no L?

The real horsepower numbers are more like 530 for regular PD and 610 for PDL. The 691 number is bunk; it's the potential of the motors, not the power they can actually make given the current available from the battery. The extra 15% power from the L's fancy fuse is noticeable on the highway. We...

I'm going to have to switch to aftermarket 20" wheels

I'd go to a local garage that works on high-end vehicles. Your average Discount Tire type place is staffed with unskilled kids and they wouldn't have a belt sander. The rubbing is when I turn the steering wheel at a certain angle and reverse, and yes, it does make a noise. If I ever get around...

I'm going to have to switch to aftermarket 20" wheels

IMHO, this is an issue with the car, not the wheels. I've had more cars than I can count and I've never seen a car with rotor screws that stand proud of the hub until the Model S. It's a design defect, given that you expect the wheel mounting surface to be smooth because who knows what kind of...

Should I install a 240 outlet in my garage?

I would. If you ever want to take an impromptu trip on a weekend or day off, it would be nice to be able to top up overnight starting the prior evening without having to go wait at a supercharger. The cost to install a NEMA 14-50 plug is trivial ($200 to $300) if you have the available capacity...

I'm going to have to switch to aftermarket 20" wheels

Yes, from Online shop 3D wheel center caps I ordered dark gray with a light gray old Tesla logo (no shield) in 60mm for the TSW gunmetal wheels. I had to spray the TSW centercaps to match because the sticker sits inside a bezel in the centercap that would otherwise be chrome. I used...

I'm going to have to switch to aftermarket 20" wheels

I also run 20" TSWs with Mich Pilot SuperSports. All the handling with none of the fear of pot holes. I'm running 255/40 front and 285/35 rear. Aftermarket wheels require shaving down the rotor set screws, which Lola warned me about (thank you!). FWIW, traction is great. I ran a VBox-timed 0-60...

    VBox 0-60 time for my P85DL: 3.1 s actual; 2.9 with 1-ft roll-out

I strapped a friend's Racelogic VBox Sport to our newly Ludicrized P85D and got 3.1 seconds uncorrected 0-60 at 95% SOC, fully warmed "Max Power" battery mode, 3' elevation, and 55 degrees F. Subtracting the first foot (this is known as a 1-foot roll-out and is used in all the 0-60 times...

    Ludicrous Upgrade Scheduling?

I'm not sure if this thread is still about scheduling, but we are finally scheduled for the upgrade at Freemont. Feb 1! Will post before and after VBOX data if I can wrangle the thing from my local friend who has one. Has anyone else does VBOX testing of an upgraded P85D with "launch mode"?

INFO: Price of P85D upgrade to Ludicrous and/or 90kWh pack

Good point. My car has 20-inch wheels with 245/285 ContiSportContact 5p. That is the P85D before/after. The test P90D has staggered Michelins on 21s. Not identical, but both should have similar grip.

INFO: Price of P85D upgrade to Ludicrous and/or 90kWh pack

We're going to upgrade our P85D at Freemont (we got on the list on the first day) and I have a friend with a VBox, so I'll have before/after numbers. I also have a friend testing a P90DL with the same VBox, so we'll have comparable results for all three. My question is when the heck my upgrade...
