Did the non-P 90D spoiler behavior change in .42?

Since the .42 update, it seems that the active spoiler on the 90D behaves differently. It doesn't come out all the way like it used to when the fob is in range, but it does eventually extend fully when actually driving, and then retracts when stopping. Anyone else notice this, or am I imagining...

    Model X May Deliveries

After I got unceremoniously punted into this thread due to a last delay, it was finally my turn yesterday! I guess it's been established by now, but man, this car is awesome. I didn't do a thorough inspection since we didn't have as much time as I had hoped, but so far, everything seems to be...

    Model X April Deliveries

I guess I have officially lost my rights to be in this thread :) Car will arrive tomorrow evening, delivery scheduled for Monday afternoon. At least MyTesla has been updated to say "Between May 1 and May 8". Still later than I'd like (well, two years later really :) ), but at least now I have a...

    Model X April Deliveries

It was meant to be ready almost 3 weeks ago, but then the recall happened, and it was stuck in Fremont waiting for parts, and then waiting for the backlog. My DS was trying to get the X shipped to San Diego so the local SC can fix it there once they got their own shipment of parts, but by that...

    Model X April Deliveries

Thanks! My VIN is 019xx (should be in my signature :) ). I'm stoked, it's about time!

    Model X April Deliveries

I may be an April delivery after all! DS wrote me and said the factory applied the fix to the 3rd row seat and the car is ready to be shipped to SoCal. If all goes well, it'll be ready this Friday. Yeah!
  7. E

    Model X April Deliveries

That, and presumably the recall. My car was supposed to be delivered 14 days ago when the recall happened. It had already cleared QC, but now it's held at the factory until the replacement parts for the 3rd row seat arrive. it's from a 3rd party vendor, so who knows how long that will take.

Recall delay - Any updates on 3rd row replacement parts?

My X was meant to be delivered exactly two weeks ago, but then the recall happened (the car was built before the 26th). Since then, we're waiting for parts so the 3rd row seats can be fixed. 1) Has anyone heard anything about how the parts situation looks? It's from a 3rd party vendor, so I...

    Model X April Deliveries

My X was all ready to go and passed QC. Delivery was scheduled to be Tuesday of the previous week. Then the recall happened, and now it's still sitting at the factory, waiting for the parts from the 3rd party vendor for the 3rd row seats. No ETA. This is frustrating. To top it off, the website...

    Model X April Deliveries

This is killing me! My car is ready, but they're waiting for it to be assigned to a truck. And some other Xs have to have parts of their seats replaced, and they're waiting for the parts now. Could be another week. I can't live like that! Funny thing is, I'm in the Bay Area for business next...

Delivery window still shows late March

Same here (March 24 - March 31). Also, today was supposed to be the delivery date my DS gave me last week, but I haven't heard from him since then, so I guess that's a bust.

    Article: tesla-announces-35000-car-shows-50000-car

I've seen previous posts about various Seeking Alpha hit pieces, and when I saw this article earlier today, I glanced at the first few paragraphs and skipped the rest. Obviously another troll article. (Every TV commercial shows a decked out car and mentioned the starting price, how is this...

Tesla's website is chugging... just check out their forum

Guess the interest in the Model 3 has exceeded their expectations. That, or their IT team sucks.
  14. E

    Model X April Deliveries

Guess I slipped into the April bucket. DS just wrote, car has cleared QC and is about to head down South. ETA is Tuesday (April 5), +/- one day.

    Any non-Performance 90D take delivery?

Funny, your timeline is very different from mine. "Your Model X is almost here" - 3/11 "Prepared for Model X delivery" - 3/16 Since then - nothing. Website has been saying delivery scheduled between 3/24 and 3/31 for a while now, and DS keeps telling me that it's gonna be "soon". I'm not...

    Falcon wing door concerns

I don't have my X yet, so I can only speculate, but thinking back to the reveal demo in September, it seems that the car is designed to allow the FWDs to open in tight spaces - remember the minivan demo. That means that the doors are meant to slide uncomfortably close to obstacles. This is...

How many people are taking delivery of their Model X in March?

I filled out the basic trade-in information on teslamotors.com/mytesla as soon as my order was confirmed in January. My DS contacted me for the first time on 3/2 and was asking whether I still want to trade in, that was part of his welcome email. On 3/6, he requested an up-to-date estimate from...

Anyone with 48amp charger take delivery?

Have a 48A, and delivery is scheduled between 3/24 and 3/31 (although I don't believe that). IIRC the ModelXTracker listed quite a few 48A cars among the VIN avalanche two weeks ago.
  20. E

How many people are taking delivery of their Model X in March?

Mine says 3/24 to 3/31, but I do NOT have the purchase agreement yet - just did the appraisal for the trade-in yesterday.

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

My DS asked me whether I want Lightning or USB when he first contacted me, so this is an either/or thing. Also, they don't offer USB-C yet, so people with newer Android Nexus phones will have to rely on 12V chargers :\
  22. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Yup, Seems like the default for California now? I still don't have my purchase agreement (trade-in appraisal will be on Friday), so there's just two weeks between finalizing the agreement and delivering the car. (Mine, and apparently 1000 others). If they can pull it off, cool! But that seems...

How well do FWDs work in two-car garage with two cars?

What a schmuck I am. And I thought I did my due diligence in searching for existing posts. Thanks for the links! I'm still a bit worried - all these people have these nice, empty garages. I have shelves. And stuff. But I'm slightly more hopeful.
  24. E

How well do FWDs work in two-car garage with two cars?

I haven't seen any threads about this, but there should be enough people by now with first-hand experience about this: We have a two-car garage, and I'd like to keep both cars in there (the other is a Volt and needs daily charging as well). We currently have a Highlander, which is 72" wide. The...
  25. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Yeah - I don't even have my purchase contract yet (we're waiting for the appraiser to check out my old car to get the proper trade-in value), and I'm guessing that the factory won't begin production until the purchase contract is a done deal. But my DS is still as optimistic as ever.
  26. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

It's likely that the date in the source is meaningless if the field is hidden - it's just using a default value that's not filled out. In fact, my source shows delivery options ranging from December 1969 through June 1970 (i.e. around the UNIX timestamp start). That, or there's some time...

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

I would recommend the Google Doc. It's been updated by several people.

An update from my DS about my 90D

I'd say there's fun driving and necessary driving. I would classify most of my driving as fun driving, but sometimes I have to go from San Diego to Los Angeles, often in questionable traffic, or worse, up the I-5 from Los Angeles to the Bay Area, which is basically hours and hours of puttering...
  29. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Several reasons. 1. Only a small subset of reservation holders actually placed an order. 2. For the VIN, the sequence number is irrelevant. Only the confirmation date, the car configuration, the current moon phase and the alignment of the Cassiopeia constellation matter. 3. The Model S VINs have...

Stats of the recent VIN assignments

Wow. Congats, Drew! Guess you got very, very lucky... - - - Updated - - - I didn't even think about that. Makes a lot of sense. But wasn't there talk about the break being contingent on having cars that can be refuelled in a certain number of minutes? (Which is why Tesla played with the...

    Poll: Delivery Start for 90D's

And I could imagine that, if it wasn't for the large number of QC issues that caused a lot of work at the SCs. Obviously, my "larger number of QC issues" is an extrapolation based off the reports on the forum here, I don't have any actual numbers, so maybe the initial roll-out went pretty...

Stats of the recent VIN assignments

I grabbed the latest snapshot of the Model X Tracker and looked at all entries that have an assigned VIN on or after February 28. As expected, it's a small dataset (22 entries), but that is line with the overall percentage of people using the tracker. Here are the common factors: 100% of...

    Poll: Delivery Start for 90D's

About 1000 VINs were issued over the past 48 hours. That's in addition to all the other cars that already have a VIN but are still waiting for their car. Over the past few months, Tesla has delivered a few hundred cars (IIRC). It would be a HUGE ramp up in their production if they were able to...

Current time from confirmation to delivery?

Not even the VIN is an indicator anymore these days. I think the only reasonable answer here is "there is no way to tell".
  35. E

An update from my DS about my 90D

Wow, I didn't even think to search the code for delivery data. I have the same note. However, since it's hidden, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the default text, and unless the code updates it and makes the field visible, the contents are meaningless. In fact, the selector above has dates...

An update from my DS about my 90D

I believe many, many people haven't confirmed yet (bailed, waiting to see one live, etc). Quite a few people are probably going for a 70D. Also, quite a few people who should be eligible to get a VIN haven't gotten one yet. Btw, I wouldn't use the reservation number for any VIN-related...
  37. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

There were quite a few people from NorCal who didn't get a VIN. And quite a few from SoCal who got one. But again, no real rhyme or reason.

Someone's X prepping for delivery at Denver "secret location"

That's different. When you order food in a nice restaurant, you don't want all customers to storm into the kitchen and leer over your food (even if the cook asks them not to touch it). Once it's served and on your plate, it's okay if people take a peek. There's a special thing about getting...
  39. E

Someone's X prepping for delivery at Denver "secret location"

I can at least partially understand the secrecy. Tesla is a publicly traded company, and if they release too much information, investors will be able to gather a lot of information about sales, revenue, timelines, etc, which could hurt the stock price if those numbers don't match expectations...
  40. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Do we have any evidence that the production is in full swing now? It's certainly encouraging that they assigned 1000 VINs over the course of a day, and it's great that my DS said the expected "ready" month for my 90D with a 019xx VIN is April, but I'm not convinced yet Tesla is able to instantly...
  41. E

Tesla order page change res # to Model X 00XXXX

Hey, Tesla is giving this "So the last will be first, and the first will be last" thing a try. Then again, ohmman confirmed a few days after me and didn't get a VIN, so maybe there's a "but the dead last shall remain the dead last" clause on top of that.
  42. E

An update from my DS about my 90D

My DS contacted me for the first time today (today was also when my VIN was assigned). He said their current estimate is that the car will be "ready" in April. I refrained from asking him what he is currently smoking and whether I can have some of that stuff because this is the first time I'm...
  43. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Black onyx wheels were a known problem even for P90Ds. There are reportedly a few black onyx P90Ds orders out there that have a VIN assignment, but those are very rare.
  44. E

Tesla order page change res # to Model X 00XXXX

I think sequence number doesn't come into play regarding the VIN assignment - the key factor is the confirmation date, and your configuration. Location was floated around as a possible factor, but you're right at the honey pot, so I'm starting to disregard this theory.
  45. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Then again, not everybody in CA who should be eligible got a VIN. May I present exhibit A: ohmman. But he may have gotten blacklisted by hitting the Tesla servers too much back in the days with his scripts :)
  46. E

Tesla order page change res # to Model X 00XXXX

They're probably reading this forum right now and having a field day. We're probably their primary source of amusement.
  47. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Did you get the Ultra Hi-Fi Stereo? Per CmdrThor's post, that seemed to be the only major difference between his configuration and mine, and he doesn't have a VIN yet either. Never heard about that being a deciding factor though.
  48. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

When in January did you confirm? My confirmation date is 1/11/16. If yours was after that, you may have fallen victim to one of the classic traps, the arbitrary cut-off date. - - - Updated - - - That's an interesting data point. You should be well ahead of me. I'm trying to decode your design...
  49. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

Good point. I think I'll allow myself some excitement right now! (excited squealing) Okay, I'm back. I don't think the VIN indicates the exact order in which the cars are manufactured (I think this has already been proven multiple times on this forum), but it's still somewhat of a guideline...
  50. E

Production (Non-Sig) Model X Vin #'s now being issued

I guess the VIN just means that your car is officially in a queue. There is probably a hierarchy of queues, but having a VIN presumably means that you're in one of the lower-tier ones. My 90D just got a VIN today. I don't expect to see the car until August or even later, but seeing the full VIN...
