    HW4 Headlight Cameras

I just took delivery of a new 2023 Tesla Model X on Tuesday (April 25, 2023). There are no cameras in the headlights. However the camera configuration on the windshield appears new and different to me. See photos.

Model S and X air suspension reliability

I just traded in a 2016 Tesla Model S with air suspension for a new Model X. The Model S had 114,000 miles on it and was 7 years old. Never ONCE had a problem with the air suspension and it was adjusting multiple times a day. We had location based settings for numerous places around town that...

    Supercharger - Federal Way, WA

Based on the coordinates, that box is correct. I was inside the red box when I took the attached photos. The first is looking East, South 324th is on my right, Hwy 99 is straight ahead.

Trip planning - Yakima, WA to Bend, OR

Personally, after 4 years of Tesla driving around the PNW, I have come to the decision that the in-car nav is usually quite good at telling me where/when to charge. - I always charge up to 90-100% before leaving my house. - I always punch in my destination on the in-car nav and trust it’s...

Supercharger - Cle Elum, WA (LIVE Dec 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

Finally made it out here. Wonderful cafe and coffee place. We had the BLT Panini and the tomato basil something panini, both delicious! Came out this way to do a little light hiking now that some of the state parks are open, but also to make sure to visit Lacey’s place.

M3 Front Plate in Seattle Area

Model S, 4 years old now, never had a front plate. Never been pulled over, never got a ticket. I live in Federal Way and rarely drive into Seattle or Bellevue/Redmond.

Tesla track day at The Ridge, Shelton, WA - Sep. 21, 2019

Um... scheduled for September 21. So hasn’t happened yet.

Service Wait time (Mobile) - Bellevue/Gig Harbor

I had a good experience with new tires on my 3 year old Model S at Les Schwab. They actually had the tires on hand, which was a huge surprise since I had previous been told it would be three days to get the tires in.

Solar Panels in Washington state (West side of course)

I’m interested in solar in the PNW as well. I’d like to put in solar with battery storage so that during power outages I can run at least some parts of the home, and lower my power bill year round. Additional information from West of the Cascades users of solar is much appreciated.

Supercharger - Leavenworth, WA (LIVE Jul 2018, 16 V2 stalls)

No parking/charging problem in Leavenworth today, even though all other parking is totally full.

Here it is the new Tesla Maps ( coming this weekend? )

I got the new (BETA) maps update over the weekend (2016 Model S 85D AP1). I like the new driver display. My only real test so far indicates that the routing is much better. The old nav always took me down an older, slower road to get to the freeway, but the new nav takes the obviously better...

    Supercharger - Lynnwood WA

I’m down in Federal Way, but I’ll run up there if we are really having a meet at 11 AM today.

Just received Model 3 configuration/order email

I can’t transfer the reservation, but I can go through the order process for someone else, have that other person pay for and take possession of the vehicle at delivery. I never own it, I just act as an intermediary through the order process. At least that’s my understanding right now.

Just received Model 3 configuration/order email

I just received my email from Tesla telling me it’s time to configure my Model 3. I’m in the Seattle metro area. I’m NOT going to use this. Circumstances have changed (getting divorced) so my Model S is all I need and can afford. If anyone else is interested in using my spot in line - and...

    Supercharger - Centralia, WA

I agree. Driving from Tacoma to Portland and back is difficult. There needs to be another super charger in or around Vancouver, WA. It looks bad on the viability of the Tesla electric vehicles when I can’t drive around Vancouver and Portland because I have to save electrons to make sure I can...

Anyone willing to rent out or loan a ChadeMo adapter?

I’m down in Federal Way, but you are welcome to use mine if you can get down here. I’ve actually never used it yet.

Oh - and yes, they are all back-in spaces

    Supercharger - Centralia, WA

I’m at the Centralia SC right now, and the new stalls are powered up. I am charging in spot 6B! There are now 10 additional spots, making a total of 20 charging stations here.

    Supercharger - Monroe, WA

IMG_2944 by taldric posted Jul 8, 2017 at 4:01 PM Charged at Monroe today. It still shows that only 4 stalls are available, but I was the only one there. Did have two very nice conversations. One was another Tesla owner who had t realized there was a SC here. The other was a guy from south...

    Supercharger - Monroe, WA

I agree. I put in the 50 amp plug in my garage and it was straight forward. There's nothing like having a fully charged car ready to go every morning. Never have to think about when or where to fuel up (unless I'm going long distances). I have my car set to charge at midnight and she's always...

    ST3 vehicle tabs sticker shock

I voted for the increase, and I am willing to accept the higher rates. I think that public transportation is an important addition to the Puget Sound area, one we have been lacking for a long time. I've been to places with great mass transit (DC, New York, Japan) and used it extensively and I...

Using the Nav to get to the SoDo Service Center - Not a good idea?

To answer the original post... Yes, I have seen the exact same issue with routing to the service center, or other addresses in that area. The Nav in the Tesla is totally crazy when it comes to that area. I don't know why. I had to shut it down and use my iPhone instead.

    Supercharger - Seaside, OR

Yeah, I've never seen that configuration before either. I wonder if this is a one-off or is this the shape of things to come?

    Eugene Oregon area owners

Oh - and you might want to post over in the Northwest forum instead of the general Model S forum if you want regional responses.

    Eugene Oregon area owners

Short answer - yes. In fact it frequently slows down too much for my tastes.

    Eugene Oregon area owners

What kind of time frame are you talking about? A lot of my family is still in Eugene, and I'm down there occasionally so I might be able to help out.

    Summon Connection Issues?

I have found that summon will not always activate if the car has been parked for a few hours before trying to activate. I haven't been able to narrow it down better than that. This is using both the app and the fob. When this happens I find that getting in the car, starting it, and moving it...

Superchargers in California will be clogged in 12 months, unless?

I charge exclusively at home, only using SuperChargers when I'm on distance trips. Looking at my power bill, in the month of May my bill is $1.30/day higher than it was a year ago (before I had the Tesla). There are plenty of things that might have changed my bill from last year, both positive...

Burlington to Ellensburg on a single charge?

Download PlugShare for your phone. It is an invaluable tool to help you know where "extra" charging locations are. I've only had to actually use it once, but it gives peace of mind. A quick glance at it and I see quite a few extra points you could stop if your power budget looks to be in...

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

The trip was fantastic. We loved every minute. The entire family LOVED the Cowboy Dinner Tree. In fact, my 18 year old son ate the entire 30 oz. steak, along with some bean soup, the baked potato and the dessert. He wasn't feeling too good afterwards, but he was proud to have done it. I highly...

    Supercharger - Bend, OR

I'm really looking forward to this SuperCharger. We were just in Bend and chose to stay at the Oxford because of their chargers. We loved the place and will go back to it again, but having a SuperCharger will open up a lot of sightseeing in the area. My wife and I plan to go back this summer...

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

Wow... Just checked into the Oxford hotel in Bend. It is amazing! What a great place. Thank you for the recommendation! They only do valet parking. So I asked the valet to get our car onto the charger as quickly as possible since we need enough charge to get to the Cowboy Dinner Tree (and back)...

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

Has anyone driven the old makenzie pass highway between Eugene and Bend? I'm curious how many rated miles will be required for that drive. If I'm charged to 100% in an 85D with four adults, will I have any range trouble?

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

As I recall the roads are all paved, but the driveway and parking are gravel. I was there before on my motorcycle, so I would have remembered a long jaunt on unpaved roads. I already have a windshield chip from freeway traffic, and a sever scratch on the body behind the passenger side rear tire...

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

Thanks for all the help. The place in Sisters was booked up for the night I needed, but the Oxford was available. So we will give it a try. Oh - and I have been to the Cowboy Dinner Tree before and loved it. My entire family, especially my son, just wants to experience it now. So off we go!

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

Im not worried about the trip back to Seattle (Federal Way, really, but no one knows where that is if they aren't locals). I do want make sure to give the kids some visibility into the beautiful scenery that makes Oregon amazing though, so avoiding I-5 is high on my priorities for the trip back...

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

I like the idea of staying in Sisters. What about the round trip from Sisters to Silver Lake though? Maps shows me it is about 100 miles each way... I guess as long as I have a 100% charge at Sisters before setting out that should be doable. And there are some charging spots around Bend just...

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

It will be me, my wife, and our two teenage sons. We are heading out to the Cowboy Dinner Tree (Cowboy Dinner Tree Restaurant) for dinner on the night we are staying in Bend. We will be coming from Eugene, staying one night in Bend, then heading straight back up to Seattle (home). I am...

Recommendation for place to stay on Bend, OR

Planning a trip and will end up staying one night in Bend, OR. I will need to charge my Model S while there. Talulal Riley, Elon Musk's wife Having too much fun with the Autopilot?

I really don't see the problem here. She is acting silly, but isn't doing anything dangerous. She isn't filming, she has both hands and feet available to take over control, and she only looks away from the road for a short moment. I have done far more while on autopilot. I filmed a short video...

    Tesla moments

My wife and I were driving out to Sequim from Tacoma (Washington) this afternoon in our new Model S 85D, when we see another 85 just ahead of us. It's an older one - the darker blue and didn't have the sensors - but we managed traffic to get up next to him. We all waved at each other and had...
