    Supercharger - Montgomery, AL

A Montgomery, AL supercharger has been promised for over a year on Tesla's website.....but rumor has it that it will be located in the back of a brand new "Z" gas station on AL-110 (chantilly parkway) that sits about 200 yards from the Hotel Classio (10095 Chantilly Parkway). The gas station has...

Just to be clear, this feature {Drive to Starbucks nearby} was working for the last several years.

GPS doesn't recognize "drive to nearby"

My GPS and autopilot are working fine,,,but in the last couple weeks, when I give a verbal command to "DRIVE TO A whatever NEARBY", it pulls up a list of those places in in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (and I'm in Alabama). Now, if I specifically tell it to "drive to starbucks in Montgomery...

My car does the exact opposite.....listening to Slacker, but an AM station is playing when I turn the car back on.

Mine does the same thing.....I will be listening to Slacker when turning the car off, but an AM station will be playing when I turn the car back on. Weird.

    Supercharger - Memphis, TN

As a former Memphian, I have to agree that the location of this Supercharger for travelers is terrible. There traffic out in that part of town can be terrible. It just doesn't work well for anyone passing THROUGH town on their way somewhere else.

    Birmingham, Alabama supercharger is open!

Yes, there was no one working there......in fact, the surrounding streets were under heavy construction.....and the pay machine didn't care that I was parking only for charging either.

    Birmingham, Alabama supercharger is open!

Just used this supercharger yesterday, and you have to get an automated ticket to park to charge. But this is the first time I have ever had to actually pay to use the ticket to get out ($1.50). This is the only place that I have been that I have to pay for parking just to use a supercharger...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

That's surprising with the amount of money in Birmingham. In Montgomery, a poorer and smaller town, we have at least four Model S that I know about. And plenty of Leafs.

    Radio and ?spotify in 8.0

NewThe slacker app is gone in my 8.0 update and is replaced by whatever Personal Streaming Radio is. Some content such as the DNA shows is the same as or is from slacker. But it's not clear. If you look in Settings...then Apps, slacker is no longer there. It's not replaced by anything as obvious...

Spotify for the US coming end of Summer

I pay for Slacker Radio Plus ($5/month----not premium), and I have found it to be superior to Pandora which suffers from intense repetition. If Spotify is coming, I hope we can keep Slacker also.

AirPlay - Tesla falls further behind in Infotainment

I rented a cheap car (?Chevy Malibu?) a couple months back that had Apple CarPlay, and it was great. The integration of total voice control for texting alone was awesome.....why doesn't my Model S compete with this technology?

Anyone upgrade to dual chargers after delivery?

Great thread.....very helpful..I'm still a newbie on highway drives....I have a S70D without the dual charger. When I put GPS for long trips, I was a bit surprised to see charging times estimated at 40-50 minutes commonly (thought supercharging with 15-25 minutes). BUT, and this is where I...

    Trip planning with one SC

My first real highway trip in my Model S. Seems we've avoided Hermine. So, I 'm driving from home to the beach (where I won't necessarily have any easy connectivity to charge). I can easily get to a SC along the route 145 miles from home, then another 50 miles to our destination. So, is there...

    Home Wall Charger / Plugshare?

I've also been considering offering my NEMA14-50, well out of town, on PlugShare.....not sure if I would have any "takers", but it would be fun meeting other Tesla folks occasionally.

    Supercharger - Atlanta, GA

In your use of the Atlantic Station SC, do you typically find an open space? It will be my stop as I pass through Atlanta on the way east, and I worry about getting there in busy Atlantic Staiton and having to wait for charging. Thanks,

I apologize that this has been probably answered multiple times, but with all other variables steady, will my S70D get better range on long interstate trip with or without extensive use of autopilot? Thanks

Supercharging Etiquette (or a complete lack thereof)

I haven't yet taken any real long trips, so I've only used a non-busy SC a couple times..............couple questions for all of you who obviously are familiar with SCs. When using the Tesla GPS and heading toward a SC, does it have any way of telling you if the SC is either busy or even...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

In the south, it looks like superchargers on I-10 seem to be placed about 100-140 miles apart. With that distance, coming north from the Greenville, Alabama supercharger, that would put you right into downtown Birmingham.
  29. ldgrmnmc

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

If you are going north or south on I65 between Mobile and Nashville, you have a 307 mile stretch without a supercharger. Needing to detour through Atlanta adds approximately 150 miles to that trip. What is needed for I65 travel is a supercharger somewhere near Cullman, Alabama.

    Slacker App question

I'm struggling a bit with the Slacker app.....I have a good bit of experience with Pandora and Spotify, but I'm trying to learn Slacker.....and I paid for a "private" account through iTunes instead of the general one through Tesla. BUT, below the album cover photo is a musical note with a +...

Will the S model be priced too high?

You have a point there.....if you try to make the battery packs in the 3 and the S the same size for comparison.......I just bought a S 70D, and it was nearly $90K with the several options I got on it.....and if I have opted for the "75" upgrade, let alone the 90 size battery, it would have been...

Will the S model be priced too high?

I’ve had several friends ask me, as a Tesla owner, what the difference will be between my S and the MUCH cheaper 3 (basically $90K+ versus sub$40K). And I’m having a bit of difficulty answering that. The 3 should be smaller, but many people have posted that it isn’t that much smaller (and I’m...

Destination Chargers - Seek and ye shall receive

There is a Hilton garden inn with 2 Tesla chargers near where I live. Occasionally, I pull into the parking lot just to see if any Teslas are there, but most of the time the parking spaces are occupied with ICE vehicles. They don't do a good job of clearly marking these as reserved at all. If...

    70D Range

I also have a new model S 70D, about two months old. At my home charger, my TRIP setting from my home 14-50 has yielded me between 235-240 miles of "charge". My non-TRIP setting (the usual one) is about 185 miles. I haven't ventured out out of town much yet, but just thinking about driving...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

The lack of superchargers in the Birmingham-Huntsville-Memphis region surprises me. There is plenty of wealth in between Birmingham and Huntsville, and the presence of SC would definitely result in more Tesla sales in these areas. And being in Montgomery, I want to not have to stress about...

    NEMA 14-50 amps question

Very basic question for some, I'm sure, but I need help. I installed a NEMA 14-50 in my garage for my new model S. For the first month, I would charge it starting at midnight, and I would get 40 amp, resulting in about 30 miles of range per hour of charge.....in the last few days, without any...

Tesla quietly released a new cheaper and upgraded ‘Tesla Wall Connector’ Price drop apparently for this device, but I admit that I really don't understand all the electrical charging stuff. Question about new Tesla HPWC (80A) Montgomery, AL

I'm back.......I've got my Tesla S on order, and I do have a 14-50 in my garage. But there will be times that I might "freeload" a bit when I'm shopping with the family right next to this hotel. And one more question......I know the intent for the hotel is to attract Tesla drivers, but doesn't...
