    Rolling LEAPS?

No, I'm talking about leverage, which is calculated based on delta and the option price. You have to calculate the actual leverage value to know if it's going up or down. Only looking at the delta is not enough. I made a spreadsheet to illustrate, this automatically calculates leverage for the...

    Rolling LEAPS?

Not always. That's only correct if you keep the same strike (or increase it by a small amount) which means you reduce leverage. If you're increasing your strike enough that means your new leverage might be higher than before. Which is good to do when the price is lower. The point is that you...

    TSLA Trading Strategies

Leverage automatically decreases as the stock price increases, because your strike is getting deeper and deeper in the money. So to maintain the same desired leverage, you have to increase your strike accordingly. Leverage = option delta * stock price / option price

    TSLA Trading Strategies

Be careful, the delta drop at high strikes is not consistent with the increased strike, which means leverage might not necessarily increase with a higher strike. For example, currently: So you're much better off with 650 (7.15x leverage) than 680 (5.56x leverage). It seems the major...

    No it's not. 500kWh = ~3 Powerpacks. I'll get excited when I hear about 50MWh+ projects. Besides, each Powerpack 2 is 50kW / 210 kWh. How are they deploying 250kW / 500 kWh?

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

To keep it simple: It's better to increase leverage when the price is low, and decrease leverage when the price is high. Rolling call options forward at the same strike price decreases leverage. Increasing strike price at the same expiry increases leverage. You can roll forward and increase...

Tesla/Panasonic currently produces ~9GWh in Fremont/Japan, ramping to 50GWh in 2018 and 150GWh in 2020 in GF1. And these guys are targeting 10GWh in 2020, and 33GWh in 2025, and they think that will be 30% market share. Yeah Tesla is doomed.

Tesla was valued at >10x revenue in 2013Q3, the highest in its history. That was mostly caused by a short squeeze, and a correction was overdue until revenue caught up. Elon may have simply contributed to triggering that correction that would have happened anyway. Tesla is valued at ~5x...

Here's what he actually said: "So, when we place parts orders with our suppliers, we've told them 1,000 a week in July, 2,000 a week in August, and 4,000 a week in September. These are parts orders. Then the parts need to arrive. They need to be turned into a car. And the car needs to be...

Not before 2025, due to battery production constraints. See details here under the forecast sheet: Tesla Edit: Actually there's a chance that might happen before 2025 if Tesla announces 4 gigafactories this year, depending on the capacity of those factories.

The Tilburg factory hasn't been discussed recently. Will it be used for final assembly when the Model 3 is available in Europe next year? Does it have the capacity for that? If not, then what are the consequences of that? Do we even know how many cars are actually assembled there now?

What you're missing is that new gigafactories will be manufacturing vehicles as well. So you can't assume that they'll have the same battery production capacity as GF1. We don't really have an idea on the capacity of the new gigafactories until Tesla shares more details on this.

    2017 Investor Roundtable:General Discussion

Tesla didn't guide on S/X production but if you consider the 1 million cars in 2020 and 150GWh output, with high Tesla Energy growth, there won't be enough battery capacity left for higher S/X growth. I tried to fit the numbers as much as possible within those constraints. Tesla will be battery...

Thanks for the comments. - My 2017-2020 numbers are based on Tesla's guidance discounted by ~20% for execution risk. - I don't expect GF3 to start volume production until 2020, so all 2017-2020 production numbers are pretty much capped by GF1 ramp. - I don't expect ASPs to drop in the next...
