    All discussion of Lucid Motors

Lucid still hasn't released terms for the warrant exercise, which has me concerned. I'm unable to exercise them at TDAmeritrade because of that. My paranoia says they're purposefully not releasing them until after the Sept 1 lockup, at which point a bunch of insiders will bail taking their money...

    All discussion of Lucid Motors

Can someone explain the Sept 1st lock-up expiration date for LCID? Who is locked up and who isn't? I think I know what it means in theory, that some folks can't sell until then, but I don't grasp the specifics. Seems like Sept 1 could be a very bad day if some folks opt to get out.

    All discussion of Lucid Motors

I don't think anything change. You basically have options with a fairly lengthy expiration date.

    Service Center - Vallejo, CA

No, some connector in the harnessing that related to motor sensors not getting data or some such.

    Service Center - Vallejo, CA

I had to take my car to Vallejo and figured I'd relate the experience. Our Model Y, less than1 year old and less than 7k miles, had a failure at the Vacaville supercharger location. After charging, it wouldn't go into drive and threw up a slew of error messages about brakes and motors. We (well...

Competitors to the Tesla solar roof?

I was able to get a Tesla person chat on their website. Basically, fill out the form with a guess at the address and they'll contact me when they serve Eugene. Oh well, the fact they don't serve it at all answers my question. Perhaps by the time I need the roof they will, but I doubt it.

Competitors to the Tesla solar roof?

How did you get the quote? Using Tesla's website: 1) Have to have an address to fill out the fields to get to a quote and there is no address yet. 2) Requires a $100 deposit. There is no way to just ask a question. I was able to use a nearby address and plug in the sq. footage I'm expected and...

Competitors to the Tesla solar roof?

I'm looking at building a house in the next year or so and wanted to put a solar roof on it. Ideally, with a battery backup. Given the big thread about Tesla's handling of their solar roof reservations, I'm reticent to using Tesla at this point. I can't even use Tesla's site to get a quote since...

What other tech stock to consider?

Nothing that I can tell. Like many smaller tech stocks, it's tanked over the last 8 weeks. Looking at their SEC filings (SEC Filings – Senseonics) it appears a board member has unloaded a lot of shares. I'm not sure what to think of that. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed.

So, it's a giant set of microtransaction games?

What other tech stock to consider?

Still not sure what separates them from platforms like Steam, Xbox Live, Sony's playstation network, etc. Seems like a crowded space with big players and monumental dev/testing costs to validate cross platform functionality. Cool name though (not sarcastic, kind of like it).

Yep, shortsellers. Aka, scum of the universe.

I spent 10 minutes reading their website and I still can't figure out what they do or how it's different from XBox live or Steam.

What other tech stock to consider?

Yea, not selling. No real point, if I thought it was worth it before, it's certainly worth it now. There's been basically no news on any of these stocks, other than SENS ER yesterday. It's just been a general week long crash across everything remotely volatile in my portfolio. Doesn't even seem...
  15. C

What other tech stock to consider?

Yea, incredibly rough. Most of my top 5 holdings have dropped 10-20% every single day for over a week now. I'm at 40% portfolio losses for the year. NNDM -50%, ARKG -30%, ABML -50%. It doesn't get any better with the smaller holdings, ONTF -30%. Berating myself heavily. 2 weeks ago, I...

What other tech stock to consider?

The SENS earnings report was, more or less as predicted, a disaster of loss and reduced revenue. It's bouncing around after hours, I'd expect it to dive overall and stay depressed until they finally can start selling again. It's all about forward looking post-covid opportunities to actually...

What other tech stock to consider?

Presumably, the same thing that crushed a lot of stocks today: SENS, ABML, NNDM, ONTF, HIMS, ALPP and probably lots more that didn't happen to cross my eye today. What that thing was? No idea, generally terrible market day with some sectors feeling a magnified effect. My only green stocks today...

What other tech stock to consider?

I had a significant portion of money free up in February and so I increased my positions in most of those things (SENS, ABML, etc) during that time frame, which of course means most of my positions were purchases near what we can now see is a local peak. I'm looking at YTD losses of about 30%...

What other tech stock to consider?

I doubt there's much to expect in terms of good numbers. Nothing has changed for them, the quarter being reported would still have been heavily dampened by Covid with few patients going in for the sensor transplants. Likely to be the same story on the next ER after this one as well. Some good...

What other tech stock to consider?

I didn't get in as early. And/or I bought more over time as money came available so my average price point increased. Pretty much negative 20-40% across the board at this point. Except SENS, which I guess I got in early enough that it's still pretty positive overall. Yea, HODL, though needing...

What other tech stock to consider?

What a difference a few weeks makes. Pretty much every thing mentioned here was going great initially and is deeply underwater now after the last few weeks. ABML, NNDM, ONTF, pretty much any symbol we've talked about. Many down 40-50% off their highs (like NNDM). We're all brilliant riding the...

Thanks for posting this. After the last week of ABML really dropping, it was nice to hear their COO was really knowledgeable and on top of her game.

So what does this mean now for the potential Lucid/CCIV merger? Is that on indefinite hold because if the failed disclosure?
  24. C

What other tech stock to consider?

The sold call is just downside mitigation (and upside limitation). The warrants themselves, > that $11.50 gap, is an independent calculation.
  25. C

What other tech stock to consider?

As long as the warrant/stock gap maintains > $11.50, it's still a good deal. The gap is about $19 right now.

What other tech stock to consider?

I know now that I should have moved everything to dividend stocks and basically retired, but I didn't know that until a couple days ago (talked with a financial planner) and was already in the various positions. Was going to ride until March and close things out. Guess I shouldn't have waited...
  27. C

What other tech stock to consider?

I'm holding on various stocks, but ABML is really killing me as it's a large relative position for me. SENs as well, my second biggest position (ignoring 3 dividend stocks that are doing ok, only slightly down). CCIV doesn't bother me much as the drop is largely counterd by the sold calls...
  28. C

    The Resource Angle

That is what stuck out for me. All of them have had big rises in the last few months, but only ABML is giving it back while the others plug along. Still, it's very short term, mostly the last couple weeks, so could just be fluctuations. Deviation from its brethren is a flag, an anomaly that...
  29. C

    The Resource Angle

ABML continues it's drop. Not sure why, there is zero news on it and its industry seems fine, I think. I suppose it's crazy up since 3 months ago though I wasn't in soon enough to take advantage of that. No news seems the case with a lot of resource stocks though, not flashy so there's not a lot...

What other tech stock to consider?

Pondering what to do once the warrants can be exercised. I have sold $60 Jan 2022 calls for $23, which is pure time value since the stock wasn't over $60. That will go to $0 time value no matter what by Jan 2022. The stock could go to $100, but I'm covered by the warrants so I'll get all that...
  31. C

What other tech stock to consider?

The warrants cost $11.50 to exercise. If CCIV is at $10, the warrants have no intrinsic value (maybe some time value). CCIV would have be above $11.50 to make exercising the warrants useful.
  32. C

What other tech stock to consider?

If I hadn't thrown everything I had at CCIV warrants, today would be a good day to sell puts on anything I'd like to get into (or add to). CCIV is literally the only green ticker in a portfolio of red :) The warrant/stock gap has closed a little today. The warrants are up more than the stock.
  33. C

    The Resource Angle

Not sure if it's an amplification of the general market, but ABML cratered this morning. Down 20% and still dropping.
  34. C

What other tech stock to consider?

That was me yesterday as I tried to figure out how it couldn't be as good as it looked :). I put about 15% of my portfolio into it this morning at a net ~$8 difference between the warrant cost and the sold Jan 200 $60 strike. So my risk is $8/share. My potential profit is $10/share on the...
  35. C

What other tech stock to consider?

It probably doesn't matter too much what call you sell as you can always roll them to a later/earlier date.
  36. C

What other tech stock to consider?

As something of a followup on that, buying a warrant ties up the $30/share for that purchase, then nearly double that in margin "buying power" for the sold call. So, I'm tying up about $85/share in buying power to make between $-7 and $+41/share in Jan 2022. So, it's not exactly free money, that...

What other tech stock to consider?

I put what powder I had available into the CCIV/WS piggy bank. We'll crack it open in January and see if it's worth anything. One thing I discovered though as I was playing near the edges of my margin (not actually borrowing, just the sold calls count against margin) is that the CCIV covered...
  38. C

What other tech stock to consider?

@pz1957 What happens if the Lucid merger doesn't happen? Do the CCIV/WS end up worthless? Though, I would think CCIV would drop so much in that case the covered calls would also end up worthless, though you'd have to wait until Jan 2022 to get the full decay to $0 on them.
  39. C

What other tech stock to consider?

Here's basically a zero risk CCIV warrant play. Prices based on what I see right now in thinkorswim. Now: Buy 100 CCIV/WS warrants for $30 each (current after hours price) Sell 1 CCIV covered call, Jan 2022 strike $25 for $30/share Net cost of $0 to enter this position. On Jan 2022: If the...

What other tech stock to consider?

(emphasis mine) To avoid limiting on the upside, don't sell the call. Selling the call makes the position a lot cheaper to get into though as it offsets the price of the warrants (and thus limits your potential losses).
  41. C

What other tech stock to consider?

Effectively, yes, since you can convert the warrants to stock to cover the call. It's sort of like having bought a call at strike $11.50 and selling a higher call (aka vertical spread option). The difference is, near as I can tell playing in thinkorswim, is that the margin required is...

What other tech stock to consider?

_mind blown_ I'm going to go scrounge my couch cushions for extra change. That Sept 30th, 2021 number. The bit chronoreverse mentioned: So, the "closing of this offering" already happened on Sept 30th of 2020? I wasn't sure what "closing of this offering" meant as far as a legal date.
  43. C

What other tech stock to consider?

Since (based on chronoreverse's post) it looks like you can't exercise until 1 year from the merger, that means you'll have a window where you'd be on the hook for the calls, but couldn't yet exercise the warrants? I haven't thrown any money at this since I don't fully understand it yet, but is...
  44. C

What other tech stock to consider?

I have read the previous posts and I'm still confused on how a warrant works. Let's take this instant in time. CCIV is 52.8 and CCIV/WS is 31. If I buy a CCIV/WS at 31, that lets me do what exactly? I can exercise it to buy a share, not now, but at some point in the future? I assume it's not...

What other tech stock to consider?

Nothing terribly interesting that I can tell. A blurb about participating in a healthcare conference, but that seems pretty common for such companies. My $8 calls for this week might not be safe, but I'll shed tears of joy if they call away my shares at $8.
  46. C

What other tech stock to consider?

Do you know of a site somewhere to get a list of stocks (or etfs) sorted by yield? Those yield levels seem almost too good to be true. At 10% plus, you could retire fairly comfortably just on 10% yield and maybe $1.5 million given dividend are, I believe, taxed as qualified dividends rather than...

What other tech stock to consider?

Heh, stocks are like the shiny new toy, I watch them a lot when I first enter a position :). Eventually, the newness wears off and they're relegated to the toy bin to be ignored for a while. Though I tend to sell covered calls on my positions, so I suppose I don't completely ignore them. The...

What other tech stock to consider?

Looked interesting so I broke my rule about never buying anything shortly after the IPO as most seem to drop. It's only the people actually in on the IPO that make money on those things. And, of course, it's dropped pretty markedly. Damn it, I have that rule for a reason! :P Hopefully the...

Morgan Staley wrecked my position with a swath of EV related target changes. I sell a lot of strangles, so big changes hurt regardless of direction. I wish I had some way to know when they'd announce things and close out ahead of time. I suppose it's part of the "house wins in the long run" with...

What other tech stock to consider?

A cross section of many of the things we've mentioned here. Portfolio has been great so far, but the market in general has been so great (in tech anyway) you could pick symbols at random and have done pretty well. I'm fairly heavily banked on ABML, then lesser positions in SENS, NNDM, NVDA, and...
