Although convenient when towing a trailer, you would be blocking the drive lane in the parking lot if you do that. Most of the pull-in spots I've seen are similar, a trailer would block the driving lane. These are good for bike racks and those trailer hitch cargo carriers, that's about it.

The pull-in spots are useful for a bike rack, but a trailer will block the parking lot driving lane at most charger locations.

No food options if you are there in the morning. Texas Steak house and Outback open for lunch. Plenty of hotels though, if you need a place to stay for the night.

I have listened to live college sports, mostly UVA basketball, football and lacrosse streaming from the local radio station using Tune In. Not sure I've even tried professional sports. Oh, I did listen to the Master's broadcast live using the Masters app on my phone.

I've had good experiences at Sterling. They did take longer than expected to complete my infotainment MCU upgrade, but I had a loaner X and they kept me informed.

Yep, I'm always careful to avoid sharing a numbered charger at V2 stations. One of the confusing things is that the 8 original stalls at Glen Allen are not set up with paired chargers next to each other. They are 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a, 1b, 2b, 3b, 4b (instead of 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b,...) You can be a 2a and...

If you have premium connectivity, which most older cars do, the FM antenna is not that critical. I can get most radio stations using TuneIn for live broadcasts.

Yep, I get it. Had to stop at Glen Allen recently on my way from NC beach. It was ridiculously slow. Looking forward to a faster option.

Had to stop at Glen Allen a couple days ago. Really slow. Even with 20% battery, preconditioning, few cars and warm temps, never went about 55kw. Be nice to have V3 options at Mechanicsville and Ashland soon (hopefully).

Any update? Going to be going that way this weekend.

Hopefully not at the most convenient location for general parking.

Glenn Allen has better amenities but this will be faster.

I travel NoVa to OBX frequently. Usually stop at Glen Allen because of the amenities and number of chargers, but they’re not the fastest. I don’t hate this new location. Look forward to checking it out.

Same code and car for me, late 2016 S 75D. Scheduled service center appointment. When I asked, they said "should be OK to drive. This alert is related to the coolant heater in the vehicle." Original appointment was 12/16. Rescheduled to 12/22 when loaner would be available. Never saw the alert...

I’ve often thought that if Tesla wants to continue selling their high priced highly profitable S and X models in significant numbers, they should offer perks such as premium service or free supercharging to those customers. Not necessary or practical or profitable to do that for everyone.

Yep, not bad. And the road it’s on, Rt. 1, parallels I-95, so you just continue the direction you were headed after charging to get back on 95. No backtrackin.

the trend is definitely toward Sheetz and Wawa type locations. Not bad, but not like the nice shopping centers and strip malls with decent eating options. On the other hand, open 24 hours is good.

Not as nice a location with as many food and shopping options as Glen Allen, but I’ll take it.

There is an exit just north and just south of the station. You get off one, go to charge and then get back on the other whether traveling north or south. Very convenient.

I haven’t been by in a while. I’ll let you know if I have a chance to drive by.

Same issue for me. The car sometimes does not “see” the lane to my left, even though it sees cars in the left lane and always sees the lane to my right. I contacted Tesla chat support during a recent trip. They recommended recalibration of my cameras. That seemed to help for a while, but...

I’ve had the same issue occasionally. Does anyone think recalibrating the cameras would be helpful?

I would’ve preferred a location close to I-64, but hey, I’ll take a new charger wherever I can get one.

I just scheduled the upgrade today. The app let me schedule it for remote service by a ranger.

On my return trip a week later, I was the only one there. So, not so crowded all the time I guess. Probably will be a problem on the weekends during travel season.

There is one planned and permitted on Va. Beach Blvd about 5 miles from the beach. It's going at a Wawa.

Very full on New Years Day at lunch time. All stalls filled. Traffic going in and out of Sheetz made it difficult to back in. The chargers are located at the main entrance/exit.
