Power trunk retrofit causing car awake

Malaromane, thank you so much for making me aware of this thread. I was only reading that other thread that wasn't of any help and has already gone dead. I unplugged that 2-wire connector like you all suggested and I've had no PCS_a022 errors since then (it's been about 24 hours). Also, my...

    Charging Error Alerts

My Model 3 updated to firmware 2024.3.25 today. It still didn't fix the "PCS_a022, Unable to charge, Service is required" error every 4 minutes, and didn't fix the HV contactor clicking every 4 minutes. Tried a reboot, didn't help.

That sounds terrible. I hope they cut you a break on that.

    $382 for a software update?

Update: The service manager let me explain my viewpoint, and without necessarily agreeing or disagreeing with me, did agree to waive the charge this time. I'm still curious what others think about this situation. I think I'm in the right, but obviously everyone thinks that about themselves.

    $382 for a software update?

My car popped up the two alerts in the photo that I've attached. Sounds pretty serious, and the heater and the A/C aren't working, so I immediately take the car to Tesla Service. They charge me a $255 diagnostic fee (my car is out of warranty by 6 months), keep my car for a week, then...

I'm thinking about buying an inventory 2024 Model Y Dual Motor Long Range (built in Austin). What are the differences between that and a Fremont car? Jack pad differences? Model 3 Screen Flickering When Entering Car...

My car used to do that. Here's how I could reproduce it every time: Park the car and let it sit for at least 8 minutes (long enough for the computer to go to sleep). Then, launch the mobile app, wait for the app to connect to the car, then open the car door. Blank screen every time on my car...

My A/C is set to "AUTO" and the days have been pretty hot where I live lately. The car blows cold air at my feet, but nowhere else. It never acted like this before I got firmware 2019.28.3.1 I can turn off AUTO, then select the areas I want it to blow, and that seems to work. I can then turn...

2019 Model 3, Screen Black out

I'm having this problem too. I started a new thread because when I used this forum's search function it didn't return any results. Now a week later, while looking up a different problem, I find this thread. Sheesh, sorry. Anyway, here's what I posted: blank screen on 2019 Model 3

blank screen on 2019 Model 3

Just got firmware 2019.28.3.1 today and still getting the blank screen if I run the app before opening the door. Also, it seems like the car only has to be parked for 15 minutes for the computer to go to sleep, not 30 minutes like I previously thought. Can anyone try this for me? Just wait at...

    Neural Networks

The Aptiv PR employee told me flat out that the camera was not used for driving. This was only about a month ago. While I trust your judgement/knowledge (and esp that of Bladerskb), I've got to believe what I was told. Both because of the source of the info, and the date of the info.

    Neural Networks

They *have* a front facing camera, but it is just in shadow mode for their Las Vegas fleet. The camera data is not used for driving the car. They are capturing data from the camera and tagging it in real time from the Lidar & Radar & GPS in order to train a NN at a later date. The PR people...

Not true. While in Las Vegas last month I rode is a self-driving Lyft car (made by Aptiv). It uses only lidar & radar. No cameras, no ultrasonics. I took 6 different autonomous rides, in 6 different cars, during my week out there. It drove perfectly, 100 times better than any Tesla. It...

    How will Tesla demo FSD?

The impressiveness of Tesla's video (if they release one) would not only depend on how difficult the route is, but would also have to be gauged by how many disengagements took place before they had a clean run. Sadly, we'll probably never know. I wonder if the Monday video will be as...

    Tesla autopilot HW3

They downsample all the cameras 4:1 (and the cameras are pretty low rez to begin with). That's probably why they can't read the speed limit signs. With HW3 they won't be downsampling the camera data.

New Inventory S and X 100D’s from as low as $79k

Note that most new inventory vehicles are 2018 models, while custom ordering a new one would get you a 2019 model. Years down the road, when you are ready to sell your car, the Dec 2018 car will be worth about $6K less than the Jan 2019 car.

Unspoken Rules for Posting a Tesla For Sale on TMC

Those are all great tips, but only if I'm "selling" my car. What if I want someone to take over my lease? Tesla played me like a fiddle and somehow talked me into putting $20K down and paying $2K a month for a stripped Model S 40. I've curbed all 4 rims (had to rotate the tires in order to...

Navigate on Autopilot is Useless (2018.42.3)

You are wrong. Regulations do not require hands on the wheel. BMW allows "hands off" below a certain speed on one of their cars. Cadillac allows "hands off" at any speed on one of their cars. There was a car that predated both the BMW and Cadillac by a full 4 years that allowed it as well...

Navigate on Autopilot is Useless (2018.42.3)

I know you were talking to Bladerskb, but here's my take on it: NOA is not "highway FSD" because NOA requires hands on the wheel. FSD, *any* flavor of FSD, has no such "hands on wheel" requirement. Elon promised that the car could drive itself from NY to CA with no one in the car, so obviously...
